3 Months post op with pictures :)

You look great! Did you do anything specific to help tone your arms? I have big arms and I don't want them to be flabby. Your arms aren't flabby at all!

    Just need to vent/cry

I'm sorry you're feeling so crappy and I understand the lack of sympathy! I am five weeks from surgery and have been at a plateau for the last three weeks. If I hear one more person say maybe you need to change your diet, add more exercise, or maybe that's just the right weight for your body, I am going to lose it! I had weight loss surgery, it is going to take more than two weeks of weight loss to get my body to the "right weight". I am exercising 5 days a week and I have increased and decreased my calorie intake as instructed with no better results. I read the comment about the plant based protein, I had to switch to a vegan protein and it really helped. It seems I am now lactose intolerant and my stomach gets upset every time I eat dairy. I am using vegan protein and trying to drink Fairlife milk for the protein. It has helped with the nausea. It does seem like each week there is some kind of new problem with eating. I had a bit of a breakdown yesterday too so I understand!
  3. I completely understand! I feel exactly the same way! Today is my 5 weeks since surgery and I haven't lost any weight for almost three weeks now. I know plateaus are part of weight lossprocess, but I did not expect one this early in the process. I also haven't had any trouble eating or drinking except for some issues with protein. I am very discouraged and find myself questioning this decision a lot. To top it off my husband who did not have surgery is dropping weight like crazy and I am exercising and doing everything I am supposed to be doing with no success. We just have to hang in there and hope to get through this rough patch quickly!

Four weeks post op after sleeve- what are you eating?

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I don't know how to bump up my calories either. This is definitely not easy to figure out the balance.

Four weeks post op after sleeve- what are you eating?

I just talked to the nurse practitioner at my doctor's office who said she thinks my body is in starvation mode because I'm not eating enough calories. She said I should have around 800/day and I've been around 500. I have been trying to be so good and stick to no carbs, high protein, and low calorie that I guess I'm not getting enough. I don't know if that's the problem but she suggested I bump up my calories intake and I should start losing again. I thought I would share and hopefully it will work.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

Four weeks post op after sleeve- what are you eating?

I am sooo glad to hear you say that because so have I! I felt like it was going so well for the first couple of weeks and now I am getting very discouraged. I am sitting at about 20 pounds since my surgery. Was your stall when you started eating foods?

Four weeks post op after sleeve- what are you eating?

I have not tried steak yet or broccoli. I just bought some broccoli and thought I would steam it so it was soft and try. I was going to try asparagus and then decided not too, seemed a little too stringy.

Four weeks post op after sleeve- what are you eating?

I had my surgery on the 9th and I am eating soft foods. I am eating pretty much any meat and just making sure it is juicy. I have been eating vegetables some too, but that's about it. All of the sugar free stuff makes me feel nauseous now so I'm not having any of that anymore.

Weight Loss Plateau at 3 weeks???

It's a really great idea to keep track of measurements. I hadn't thought of that. There is more than just the scale. Thanks for the idea and I think I am going to borrow your template. Thanks!

3.5 weeks post op and can’t stomach protein drinks

I just got a vegan protein powder at GNC because I was having the same problem. One day I was fine and the next I was almost doubled over from stomach cramps after having a few drinks of my shake. From what I've read you can develop lactose intolerance after surgery. I'm hoping it is not permanent, but I haven't had any trouble so far with these vegan shakes that aren't milk based. They are super expensive though so I'm looking for a better deal on amazon.
  12. I had my surgery on 7/9 and I felt exactly the same way the first week. Sometime during the second week it gets easier. It seems like you are able to intake a little more fluid at a time. That first week your sips are so tiny that you aren't getting anywhere near the amount of fluid you are supposed to have.

Weight Loss Plateau at 3 weeks???

Thank you! That makes me feel so much better! I will search for other posts.
  14. I am on week four, just about 3 1/2 weeks from my surgery. I know I shouldn't watch the scale everyday, but it's exciting! My weight has gone down every day until this week and it has not budged at all, not even a little bit. I am trying to not get hung up on numbers, but I am concerned something is wrong since it hasn't moved at all. I have struggled a lot this week with my protein and trying to figure out if I have a protein allergy or if I have become lactose intolerant. Has anyone else had an issue with this?

    Week 3 Nausea

It had not crossed my mind t hat I could be allergic to the protein, but now that I have investigated it a bit, I bet that's the problem. What did you use instead of the whey protein isolate?
