Definitely report her - there should be a nurse manager that you can speak to, if you don't get a response I would then go to the hospital admin.

Ugh.. hard chairs hurt the bum.
I can get closer to 'things' (use your imagination here).
Space between me and the steering wheel, kitchen sink, etc seem ginormous. I stand up straighter, feel taller. Still can't judge my clothing size accurately yet.

Yes, seek another opinion , especially if you are approved by insurance, but also consider mental health services/counseling to manage or to prove that past trauma has no affect on your eating habits. Be brutally honest with yourself here.
You will want to put to bed all problems you can recognize before surgery so you can focus for a while in just the mechanics of the new lifestyle.
The doctor may have a point or think he's correct in his assessment , but so what. These things can be worked on, you shouldn't be counted out forever. And now you know to proceed cautiously against giving out too much information.

I had some difficulty swallowing the giant Calcium and Multivitamin tablets at first (I would feel nauseous then barf soon after). I could not stand the taste of them crushed, so I switched over to chewables for the the 1st three months. Then I tried again at month 3...I could get the multivitamin down but not the calcium, even cut in half. So continued with the chewable calcium until month 5. Then, hurray, I could keep the giant calcium pills down! I still have a bunch of chewables left in my stash, so I'm just going to finish them then switch permanently to the regular tablets. They are much cheaper than chewables, so that's a plus. But I will say that the calcium chewables are tasty (I had/have the Jamieson chocolate flavoured chews).

Report the nurse to the hospital. Be clear and succinct in your feedback as well what you would like to occur...eg cultural sensivity and/or patient-customer service training for the nurse etc.

For me its been sticking to a healthy diet once my hunger returned. It was easy to ignore unhealthy foods when I wasn't hungry and its much much harder now. I have to be very deliberate in making my food choices and saying NO to food I know isn't healthy.

I am almost 7 months post op and have lost 110 pounds - which is A LOT in a short time. I had a lot to lose and my goal is about 40 more pounds at most or 20 more at least. BUT Ive been stalled for about 8 weeks and getting antsy that because I lost so much so fast that now I've hit the end of my active loss. I don't know if I can lose 40 pounds on my own. Guess I'm looking for encouragement or at least your different experiences.

I miss the weeks of losing 2-3lbs in a week. Had to remind myself of this. Saw this and wanted to share. Any of you sophomores feel this way?
