    July Sleeve

Congrats to July sleepers and all of our accomplishments. My max weight 272. SW 259. CW 187. surgery July 18th. I am completely blessed since surgery and haven't had much problems. No adverse events other than my intestines did not like liquid protein, and had to stop it until month 3. Now I can tolerate them Not tolerating them was a major bummer since that is what we have been doing and on the liquid diet. I exercise 3-4 times a week. I want to do more. My energy isn't what I thought it would be, but to be expected with all the changes. My registered dietician has been phenomenal. I also live premier protein. I use half a container with 8 ounces of skim milk once or twice daily. Twice daily if exercising. Thank you for sharing your coffee recipe. My biggest temptation: chocolate. I have been doing the sugar free instant puddings with heavy whipping cream. So good. I added chopped macadamia nuts to it last night... heaven. pumpkin keto recipe: can of pure pumpkin, cream cheese softened, 5 packs of truevia, 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, pumpkin pie spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. It was pretty good. Let it set for a day so all the seasoning can work it's magic. What is everyone else doing.

I'm happy everyone is successful post surgery. It is a life style change and we will all do just fine. I have lost a significant amount of weight. Unable to do the physical activity I thought I could due to low calorie intake and low carb intake. Met with the dietician and going to make modifications. I find if I meet my protein goal I don't meet my fluids intake since I had a reaction to liquid protein and have been eating my protein primarily since week 3. I have lost 52 pounds since July 18th- my surgery. I lost 10 pounds on my 2 week liquid diet. Our dietician will not let us consume that much protein since it will damage our kidneys, just be mindful of that. Research shows it can cause kidney stones as well. Our dietician classes gave us guidelines. Per your dietician or nutritionist, how much water or liquids can be consumed an hour? just asking.. I read up to 12 ounces. I forgot to ask my dietician.
  3. I’ve been eating that to... but as an Omlet.. decrease the amount of spinach and mushroom and add diced ham for protein!!! Yummy 😋

    Regrets

I had buyers remorse the first week as well.. the nurse case manager said it’s normal... you will get pass it as I did and I’m over 6 weeks out... we went thru a major surgery... hormonal changes... and have shocked our body.. it will get better... and every dr diet instructions are different.. I was eating yogurt before I left hospital and advanced to puréed at week 1... as directed by doctor and nutritionist... I hope it gets better for all
  6. So week 3 I gained 3 pounds and didn’t weigh myself again until week 5 and then I lost 10 pounds more. I don’t think weighing daily is healthy for anyone and I’m week 6.5 and I haven’t weighed since week 5... I think we can do is just follow the program... do our best... and it will all work out in the end!!! Good luck 🍀 to us Alan
  7. On week 3... I weighed and gained 4 pounds... and I don’t weigh again until week 5 and was happy... I agree we all are different... and it will cork off with time...
  8. Hey 👋🏽 everyone... my sleeve was 7/18 and I’m completely blessed with my surgery... my only problem is that my body doesn’t like Liquid Protein since surgery... the dr said sometimes that happens and we don’t know it until after surgery... the liquid Protein was giving me dumping syndrome and a major hormonal flush... my diet was advanced prior to discharge.. the only complaint is that I’m nauseous but my dr warned me that nausea is the new signal from the stomach.. when I need to eat I get nauseous and I eat and it goes away.. when I’m dehydrated I get nauseous.. I think that will get better with time... in reference to being tired... yes I’m easily exhausted and my endurance with have to build up.. my dr said it usually lasts for about 6 months... I’m not Completely non compliant with my vitamins.. and working on that... some days I get my protein in and not my fluids or I get my fluids and not my protein... they said that’s normal... I’ve lost 31 pounds since surgery and I did measure myself before surgery but not since surgery... but I notice more inches on my body... I’m 2 pant sizes down!!!

  11. My nutritionist said if you add a zero behind the protein and the calories exceed that number then don’t eat it... I’ve used this theory while shopping and it has helped
