  1. It is challenging . I have gone back to my entire crazy life of traveling a lot and running around plus working out . I sometimes forget completely I have a sleeve . Like today , where I had a protein drink in am, did spinning , ran home to shower and change and run to city for meeting . A poached egg before I left for city and brought a protein drink . Didn’t finish it all and since I am getting on a plane at 5, stopped at a deli for a scoop of tuna salad . Got in car and took a few bites - too big , too fast , while I was on a work call . That didn’t work and trying to do my call while driving and throwing up was a challenge . This is hard !!!
  2. So cold - going to 4 degrees this week ! The fish is crispy cod, on Bariastic
  3. Well done Sophie ! I have to try that cook book . We just had pancko crusted cod for dinner tonight with a nice lemon tartar sauce on top - with broccoli , I almost feel normal ! I need more recipes
  4. Yup the vitamins make me a bit nauseous too
  5. Ur doing great!! I struggle with same . I just put a very small amount on a ramikin or butter plate . My problem is eating too fast , that is my real problem .. I am trying to eat with baby spoon and eat more frequently so I don’t get “empty”. It’s not so much hunger as it is emptiness .. plus I work our a lot , ride my horses and sometimes just fee likenindontbhave enough carbs in the tank
  6. Wow , ur doing great ! ru using protein shakes ? They r great for getting liquids - I start the day with an 11 oz canned protein shake heated up and infused with decaf French vanilla coffee . 20 oz of liquid there - than add in a few bottle of water and maybe a green smoothie and I am good
  7. I was sleeved 12/20 and down 33
  8. Omg Steve the constipation is definitely getting u .. I don’t have that problem but maybe try green smoothies ?
  9. Yes I talked with Susan , this was my first session. She told me to keep on with my shakes , 2 a day if I like , I was trying to drop to 1 and it wasn’t working . I am mostly doing eggs , tuna salad (eaten with a baby spoon in a Ramiken, super slooooow!?). I am a fast eater and this surgery will cure me of that, one way or another ! I do well with fish and some soft laughing cow cheese or mozzarella sticks. I am also trying to some beans ... yes I am an “A” type , but I will try to be patient ... 220 is awesome ! 5 lbs down , wow !!
  10. Bummer .. I did spin today and yesterday and dropped to 206, but then puking last night freaked me out and I had only water ..am trying to get to onederland by feb 1 but that might be difficult at this point . Just spoke to my nutritionist and she said 500- 800 calories - day and If u stall cut the carbs way down and increase protein and water . I just wonder if u r eating too much ? She said once I reach goal I will consume 1000-1200 calories and 50% of that can be good carbs , but now to propel weight loss you want like 70% protein . R u drinking all ur water ? She said also that when the fat leaves the cells fill with water so try a natural diuretic like cucumber water to flush out the water
  11. I know what ur saying , I need to make sure I am on track . ManningAd a problem with tuna fish salad tonight ! I have to use baby spoons .. I take too much I think . Then I am in trouble ..
  12. Wow roast beef ? Man, no way for me . I had ricotta cheese last night and it got stuck and I had to walk it off for 20 min! And I am stalled at 208 although I plan to do 4 straight days of spin and keep carbs under 50. That usually helps jump start the metabolism. Sometimes I think it’s best to ignore the scale , it will go at its own pace
  13. I am in week 5 and I certainly can’t do much in the way of dense foods . Chicken and egg salad didn’t work . I am finding I need at least one protein drink a day to ensure I get my protein and my surgeon has suggested same . I am doing a lot of cottage cheese or plain yogurt with sugar free fruit cups (soft fruit , 25 calories no added sugar) and I am carrying tons of low fat cheese sticks in my purse ! I am using bananas too. I get hungry but a lot of foods get stuck and are uncomfortable . But one cheese stick get me over the hump . I am having very good success with tuna salad and fish dishes - was out to dinner and had flounder Francais and grilled fish with lump crabmeat and a side of mashed potatoes and mixed vetables and all that went down well ! Only about 2-3 oz of fish at a sitting though
  14. Omg 4 th week our I tried chicken salad - used thighs but still couldn’t eat it . Got stuck real bad . Stay away from all chicken and meat . I am on week 5 and have just been a been able to manage fish and poached eggs . Tried egg salad today with hard boiled egg and no go . So to answer your question , wanting to puke in chicken is totally normal
  15. If you are in the US go to Dr. Shillingford in boca Raton. Flat fee of $10,500 covers everything and he and the nurses/hospital were awesome. He is trying to keep people from going to Mexico because of complications and got this special discount rate. Very highly recommended and rated
  16. Sounds like u r doing great ! Ru really down to 200? I am stalled at 208 but have been in florida at my parents and no spin , just walking ..think it makes a difference, no intense exercise and eating only 650 calories a day , but just puttering along
  17. Ha! I have heard some flack on dr v, so no surprise there. My view is that exercise keeps me sane, so i am doing it. I do worry when they talk about it spiking hunger, god knows I don’t need that!
  18. 2 hours a day working out is a lot and if you watch the videos of dr vuong he will say that exercise is not a way to lose weight. It will tone you up , and i find helps with mood, but also will make you hungrier. Its such a delicate balance, really annoying.
  19. My doc says no alcohol for a year I have a friend who does vodka on the rocks or with crystal light , after 3 months me, my view is why waste the calories ? no alcohol till goal . Its a small price to pay
  20. I was told anything goes after 4 weeks check the bariatric eating website for protein products - I just bought coffee creamer with protein and they have snacks and stuff if u want protein but tired of shakes
  21. They say it absolutely slows after 3 months . But exercise and sticking to the calorie , protein and carb parameters helps to boost it again . My view is that as long as the trend is downward, not upward I am good !
  22. I lost 30lbs the first months and didn’t get a hernia - I love to exercise, but the doc scared me about lifting too much too soon - second month is plenty of time to kick into gear and do weight training . Every day I feel more normal and stronger
  23. Same thing happened to me with turkey chili . Ground meat doesn’t work for me , I just eat refried beans with cheese and call it a day
  24. 1500 is a lot of calories ! I was told 600-800 calories and 60-80g ofnprotein , under 50g carbs until I hit goal
  25. I was sleeved 12/20 and only walked around the neighborhood for 15 min am and pm for the first few days . Progressed to walking 30 min at once and then within 2 weeks was doing 3 miles , 45 min. Did not do any leg lifts or crunches or plank or weights for a month . Started spin at 3 weeks . Intense exercise definitely lights up the metabolism and weight loss , but some doctors say it also makes you hungrier
