  1. How many days out of surgery are u ?
  2. I’ll have to Try those ! How many grams of protein in the clear drinks ?
  3. My nutritionist said just be sensible - ur can eat 600-800 calories a day and try to get at least 60g protein - I am 5 days post op and eating about 550 a day with 70g-80 g protein . I’m also pushing the walking though ...
  4. I started to feel normal day 5 post op and definitely day 5. I’ve been taking a little liquid Tylenol at night , but don’t really need it now so I will skip tonight . I am wrestling with having to eat so often and I am doing a lot so when I run out of gas (like tonight! ) it’s a challenge because I can’t get much food in me . Definitely a work in progress ! My suggestion is try to get back to normal and move as much as possible , but be kind to yourself and take rest breaks as needed !
  5. Wow , had no idea Burman is we’re so involved ! I am 6 days post op so waiting on my biz
  6. Also I do quite a bit of running around as well for my work , easily get 10k steps a day before doing my spin class 4x a week and yoga 1-2 days , plus riding my horses . Hoping to get back to that level of activity within the first month post op.. assume I should try to get that 1100-1300 cal level and try to work towards 100 g of protein ? I burn like 400-500 cal in spin
  7. Yup hurt to swallow until day 5 post op . Then I woke up and all good . Just gotta wait for the inflammation to recede from the surgery and repair
  8. Omg thank you so much !! I don’t have this in any of my materials ! I am big into following guidelines and this will be super helpful - I want to lose the weight healthfully but quickly . What I have learned is the goal is to max ur protein in the most calorie efficient way and for sure that is protein shakes . Thanks for sharing this ! Great roadmap !
  9. Had mine on the 20 th - also had hernia repair - first day or 2 is tough but gets better quick . I am 5 days post op and feel totally normal today
  10. I am 57, 5’9, 231 on day of surgery with a BMI if 34 or so . High weight of 243. Very similar story , years of managing weight in my 20’s and 30’s and 40’s through starvation and extreme exercise. Post menopause the wheels came off and I just couldn’t lose and kept gaining . This was only and best option - was sleeved Thursday the 20th and feel great . Have lost 12lbs since the start of my Pre op 2 week diet . Walking a lot and hope to spin next week - go for it !
  11. Congrats on weight loss! I am lower BMI, self pay and did the sleeve Dec 20, hoping for good results, am down 12lbs since last week. I do love to work our though and am keen to get back to spin and yoga sonhoping I am healed enough to do light spin in a week to 10 days . I know working out and particularly weight work really help - thanks for sharing

I was pretty much back to normal 4 days post op , and would agree that walking and sipping are important . I would say to not stress day 3-4-5 post op when ur home about getting full 64oz of liquid . U will be super bloated from IV and sore in the esophagus and stomach so swelling is super hard . Just do ur best . I just finished day 5 and feel normal - walked 2.5 miles today and easily got in liquids . Good luck ! ?
  13. I did heating pad for 2 days after I got home and have been doing tylenol , back pain went away on day 3
  14. Is 800 our target calorie intake ? I thought I read somewhere that we should do 500 calories a day for the first 3 months ?
  15. It was a little difficult to be around all the Xmas food but happily mom didn’t make the cookies I love and I’ve never been that crazy about turkey..I just told myself it was one night , one year , next yr I can have little tastes if I want .
  16. They suggested the app bariatic and its very good to track all ! I also use the “lose it” app
  17. I just had surgery on the 20th, am on 5 days post op today and walked 2.5 miles and feel great ! The day of surgery sucks, no way around it, but morphine helps . Day 2 is tuff as well but get up and walk every few hours and stop morphine midday . Liquid Tylenol will help u sleep that night so ask for some . Will be hard swallowing day 3-4 when u r home , warm chicken broth works and micro sips . Just make sure u walk 5-15 minutes once u r out of hospital , try to work up to 2 x a day . Really helps with gas pain and bloating from IV. Make sure u use gas x, Pepcid and zofran anti nauseau post surgery - u will do great ps, I wasn’t perfect on the 2 week liquid diet prep and all was still good !
  18. Everyone says grazing is a sure way back to weight gain. My skinny friends never eat more than one piece of pizza
  19. I decided not to risk it at Xmas dinner am sticking to chicken broth ?
  20. No problem ! Feel better
  21. The burning is acid reflux , they should have told u at discharge to take gas x for gas pain and Prevacid for heartburn . Take both ! Don’t fear taking am and pm at first to get it under control
  22. I am 5 days post op too! I had that yesterday - I took chewable gas x in the am and pm plus a lansaprozole. Much better
