  1. Hi all-I was sleeved on July 10th and am now eating puréed foods. I have a list of no nos from my surgeon and one is oatmeal. Does anyone know why?
  2. Hi there. Ok. Another option. Discussing with my md today.
  3. I had my sleeve on July 10th. I am healing relatively easily and am losing. I was scared pre op after reading these boards because some people have a really rough time. I have accepted that this surgery is just a tool that I’ll use to hopefully get to my goal weight and I’ll have to change my life in many ways to get there but I would say “yes”, it’s been worth it for me.
  4. Congrats! Keep us posted about how you’re doing post op.
  5. My doctor advised to weigh once a week. Our bodies are constantly changing with fluid levels and such and weights will vary day to day. Always weigh yourself same time of day as well. It is tough though-I’m two weeks post op and I just want to keep seeing that number drop.
  6. I had the sleeve on July 10th. Eating puréed foods now. Slowly losing. Swallowing fine. Looking forward to losing a lot more in the months ahead. Been relatively good process since surgery but I’m having trouble stomaching the chewable vitamins. Working on something else.
  7. Hi there. The first week is rough. I am just two weeks post op and still having trouble. Get depressed and now having trouble swallowing my vitamins. It gets better. Some days are better than others. The people on these boards are very supportive and helpful. You aren’t alone. Anything specific you are struggling with?
  8. Hi matt. I will look into the patches. I have to get my vitamins in. Thanks for the reply.
  9. Hi all. 15 days post op and not tolerating my chewables. Coming right up. Can someone recommend a good multi and good calcium with d that I can swallow? I don’t have trouble swallowing pills. Bought these chewables before surgery. Thanks.
  10. Sending you love and light for a speedy recovery.
  11. Wow. Funny how that happens. I will try egg whites only to see if that makes a difference.
  12. It’s a major adjustment. You’ll do just fine. Think positive.
  13. I hope you have a good nutritionist visit. Yes. Some crafty recipes will make the puréed stage more tolerable. Yes. We’re gonna have ups and downs. Just have to keep focused. Good luck and please keep in touch.
  14. Hi there. I’m doing ok. Struggling a little with emotions but ok otherwise. Down about 30 lbs total since pre op diet. Started purée. Tolerating it. Yes. It’s very difficult cooking for the family and being involved with their meals when we can’t eat the same. It’s been an emotional roller coaster for me. I get really down but I know what the end result will be if I stick to the plan and I will lose my weight. Keep in touch.
  15. Thanks so much. I do suffer from anxiety and depression. Prior to surgery I weaned off a few meds I was taking for these conditions. I see my md on Saturday. Need to re evaluate need. Thanks for being there. You as well-please reach out if you need someone to talk to. Helps to have someone who understands what you’re going through.
  16. I’ve lost about the same as you. Trying not to be overly vigilant of the scale. I don’t want any added anxiety either. It’s hard enough getting all the Fluids in. Yesterday I didn’t get enough in for sure and I felt weak and didn’t sleep well last night. Drinking more today. I’m also finding that I’m very depressed lately. My emotions have been all over the place since surgery.
  17. Hi thatch....how did you do with the puréed meats? Did they stay down?
