  1. @CrankyMagpie let me know how it turns out and keep me posted! @Foxbins is it pretty manageable with heartburn meds?
  2. @Matt Z thanks..im definitely going to buy me some to keep on hand at home
  3. @Matt Z i never would of thought of that, thats a good idea! one they gave me as a suggestion was mix unsweetened applesauce with protein powder and god that was awful it was like the texture of slime that kids are always making nowadays and it was just a big nope for me...they said to do cottage cheese and i hate cottage cheese now taste wise period but i figured id try it after surgery and see if my taste buds change worst case my hubby will eat it bc he loves cottage cheese but its never been a thing for me
  4. @Matt Z im considering the RNY with some of the research as a possibility i was just more set on sleeve as it does remove the part of the stomach where ghrelin is released.. my issue which ive been working on now is the always feeling hungry and its why originally i was dead set on sleeve and im trusting my surgeon with where he says which ever i choose he supports HOWEVER im scared of living with heartburn and it getting bad after sleeve but like i mentioned before i dont have it now except for when i eat fried foods which i dont plan to eat afterwards but if there's the chance it could be worse down the road then.. idk... just caught between a rock n hard place
  5. @Screwballski that dinner sounds delicious btw lol... i'm just so torn as i know sleeve is irreversible i'm just wondering what the percentage of sleeve revising to RNY v RNY to sleeve revision percentages are? and i do worry about GERD but also know a lot of people have had the hernia repair while under and been fine ;/ just kind of a catch 22 im hoping it will help mine either way i go
  6. @CrankyMagpie thank you! probaly a good idea bc i dont know what my new tummy will tolerate.
  7. Its alright @Ed_NW i appreciate it. and i havent taken them in the last month or so.. been weening down slowly.. went from coffee with cream to black coffee and then from 2cups a day to 1 cup and then meds with caffeine and now in the last month or so been cutting those out.. i appreciate you trying to help tho @Matt Z thanks for the help! i havent taken them in a while but ty again matt always glad to see you catching stuff for other people, youre always a big help
  8. @Ed_NW thanks! i used that before hand to switch from coffee and now just trying to kick out but stuff worked great tho
  9. @YeahOkay31 thats kind of what he is betting on too.. they found a small hernia and was hoping with repair it would be better... with your GERD is it an all the time thing or more just triggered by certain foods for you?
  10. @KimTriesRNY @insta_adventurer I will defn buy some! thanks to both of you @Matt Z thanks for the advice and humor in the post gave me a good laugh for the day lol
  11. @kathy060464 Thanks!! Trying my best
  12. cut out caffeine so i can be caffeine free by surgery as requested by my doctor...boy do these headaches suck been trying to take tylenol as i have to cut out nsaids and feel like they arent working great getting in 80-100 oz of water a day...any suggestions on what else may help me with these migraines???
  13. @Orchids&Dragons thank you for the help! super appreciate it
  14. @GreenTealael thanks i really appreciate the encouragement
  15. @Orchids&Dragons thanks! ill defn do this! how was getting thicker liquids down?
  16. @FluffyChix thanks! im trying to find good options so im not stuck on the same thing... one thing i like about these groups you find new options you may never have though of
  17. @KimTriesRNY i wonder how that one would be, so far i only saw liquid tylenol for colds but im wondering if theres any additive to liquid tylenol that would upset a new tummy? have you tried liquid or know anyone that has and was ok with it?
  18. @KimTriesRNY thanks.. ive seen alot of success with both and mostly people saying they didnt lose or gained back say it wasnt to poor choices but left me wondering if maybe they just didnt want to admit it
  19. @mousecat88 thanks this makes me feel a little better!
  20. @FluffyChix Thanks! those are some good ideas! @Orchids&Dragons yea i might just stay on liquids and on the soup did you just blend it to a creamy consistency or drain off the veggies and stuff
  21. @Matt Z im wondering if gel would be an okay idea to get and just poke a small hole in the capsule and take the inside liquid stuff with some water or a bite of applesauce or something
  22. So my surgeon is leaving the decision to me but on my barium swallow i showed slight GERD not a significant amount but some..... I normally don't suffer from GERD unless i eat fried foods which cant eat those after surgery anyways... well i've been doing research on RNY vs Sleeve and originally I set out to have the sleeve but i see a lot of RNY patients bashing it b/c they say people don't really lose the weight and gain it back... is that just due to people making poor choices on food late or not enough exercise? or should i reconsider? sorry I am super nervous and just rethinking switching but i wonder if i was just hearing biased opinions from RNY patients...I would like to know if Sleeve patients have had just as good luck with weight loss by doing the things they should or would be honest and say they gained bc they made poor choices...(sorry for ranting) some facts that may help any advice: starting weight 255 at 5'7 tall--- 40 bmi I do have under active thyroid problems but that's it
  23. Lets talk tylenol.. doc recommended me taking tylenol as we are not allowed NSAIDS. so my question is this? which would be better the gel caps or the little red m&m shaped ones? and then extra strength or regular?
  24. Been trying some of the pureed foods stage.. i'm a texture eater so some of it literally makes me gag..pushing myself to keep testing them so i might have an idea of what to buy for post surgery. I know my taste buds will probably change but i need to be prepared as i wont have anyone to run to the store for me...so what are some of your favorites in the pureed stage thats not awful.
