  1. I've been seeing more avatars and posts about Nascar so thought I would start a thread. I've been going through withdrawals since CA and the MX race didn't do much for me. Smoke is my man.....how about the rest of you? I would like to get to know all the fans out there so we can talk about the race. Can't wait till 4PM on Sunday!!!
  2. Welcome mizmiss and congratulations on your new band!! SUPER DUPER job on your 28 lb loss....that is AWESOME!!! This is a great community that you will come to love. I've become addicted to this site. We moved from Lebanon, OH about 1.5 yrs ago to IN, so I'm a former Buckeye. I know the Cincy area a little and at times, I miss all it has to offer. :phanvan It's nice to meet you and I hope you post often. :welcome2:
  3. Hi kim2bhealthy ~ Terrible news on your insurance! I am not able to offer advice in that area....I am still waiting on insurance myself and don't have much insurance experience....sorry. :phanvan They sound harsh to me, but I do know they can be the most difficult hurdle to overcome. :faint: Hang in there and do some research here with the word "insurance" and you will find advice in more areas than just the "Insurance" forum. I've read some interesting info from "Alexandra" (user ID) and she does seem to have quite a bit of knowledge around the insurance world. There are many others as well. I wish you the best. On another note, glad to hear your a Nascar/Jr fan! :clap2: While watching Trackside tonight, I thought I should start a Nascar thread. :biggrin1:
  4. Hi Vines ~ I will lift you and your family up in prayer!! I hope your able to get answers soon. You are such a sweetie......take care of yourself!
  5. This news breaks my heart for you. :cry So sorry you have to be faced with this decision. I am preband and I don't know the protocol, but would it be worth it to get a second opinion? Just a thought. I will pray for you regardless....take care!!!
  6. I am the mother of 2 ornery preschoolers.:fencing: A.K.A. The Great Negotiator. I also come from a sales and an admin background. Jill_S ~ You got me on your post b/c as I was reading, I thought your links weren't working. Silly me!!
  7. It's always good to consider all your options, but that's what I did b4 I decided to get the band. I too have to see a cardiologist for an arrhythmia they recently discoverd....there is no way a cardiologist would keep me from this surgery, UNLESS there was a physical reason due to my heart. Regardless of my personal position, you need to look inside yourself and do what is best for you. Everyone is different and if your on the fence, perhaps this is what you need in your life right now. I wish you the very best and a healthy future!!
  8. :wow2: How exciting!! :gluck:
  9. Hi Terri ~ I wanted to send this in a private message, but couldn't find the attachment icon in a PM. Anyway, I'm always excited to meet fellow NASCAR fans. I'm inserting a couple of Jr icons you can use as your avatar. Right click each one and save them to your computer. You can then upload them to your avatar. Glad we're back to racing on Sun. I'm go through withdrawals.
  10. Penni60 ~ I think you are right....my body was not happy that I didn't take the Ambien. Wow, you were only on 5 mg and I'm taking 12.5mg! That is such a big difference. Maybe I could get by with a lesser dose. It does take me at least 1 hr to get sleepy even with the 12.5. Is that a normal time frame? I can say this much, now that I know what it's like to sleep, I don't want to go back to the old way!! bubbame20022003 ~ I know your a mommy so perhaps you should give some of these suggested meds a try including the Melatonin. I was up till 3AM last night and still didn't sleep. I know I could still wear myself out b4 bed and still have a busy night ( and not like that either). Good luck to you whatever you decide. I have so much respect & admiration for ALL moms...we ALL deserve a good nights rest! :notagree leatha_g ~ I'm glad you brought up your depression. I also take Effexor XR for depression along with the recent addition of Ambien. I take them both at night b4 bed. Building the serotonin while sleeping makes perfect sense b/c it's amazing how much better I have felt with the Ambien after getting a restful sleep. Also, today I was a big grump with my kids and could have been more patient with them since I didn't take the Ambien last night. :phanvan I will do some research on the Pamelor and Trazadone. A special thanks to everyone on this thread. :high5: Who would have thought I could have learned so much about this topic at LBT? This is a GREEEAAT place!!
  11. Oh my....I tried a night without the Ambien and I didn't get a bit of REM sleep. :cry I also had weird dreams. I don't think it's really related to the Ambien, but more related to me not being able to sleep. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this assumption. I don't think I could be addicted that quickly. I am definitely taking it tonight, especially since I haven't been to Walgreen's to pick up the Melatonin. I was able to recognize the reason for most of my body aches which has been the lack of sleep. I haven't taken ANY Motrin since I started the Ambien and now I can really tell the difference between a good nights sleep and a restless night. Before it was just the norm.
  12. I know how excited you are b/c that's how I felt after every appt! :biggrin1: It is a lot of info to process, so you may think of questions later on. The only appt I have left is my final pre-op class after I get approval from insurance. I did Optifast last year for 3 mos....only 12 weeks of shakes and bars and then slowly brought food back in. It's not easy, but take it one shake & day at a time and you'll be fine. The first day is the hardest and I guarantee you that it does get easier as the days pass. The biggest thing I learned was how much I was actually addicted to food. You may have to mourn the loss (at least while on Optifast). :phanvan Gosh, I'm just going to die if I don't get approval soon and get a date. Maybe we'll be May bandsters together. :clap2: I'm very happy for you and wish you all the best. Let us know how it goes with the Optifast and feel free to PM me if you need an ear to listen.
  13. I was just wondering how ralheit/Robin was doing. She had her surgery yesterday around the same time as Archermom. Has anyone heard from her?
  14. Good for you Magsi!! I just smiled when I read this. You did a wonderful thing for YOURSELF....so proud of you!!
  15. Cato is so precious....he does have "love me" eyes.
  16. WooHoo and Way To Go!! Hope to join you soon! :clap2:
  17. You don't deserve to be treated like this! Like MeganA said, take little steps if you need to, but you need to dump this guy and you already know it. If you need some solid advice, try www.drphil.com. He tells it like it is and offers links on his website that can help build your inner self. Good luck to you and heed the words of advice given on this thread.
  18. shakeerah ~ Please respond to Doty's offer to help you if you are indeed being honest. There are so many ways to go about this and you need to understand that people must protect themselves from fraud. That doesn't mean you're being dishonest, it just means that the manner in which you have asked for money is questionable at best. Don't get upset that somone would question your integrity b/c that's the world we live in. I do see that you made a previous request here on LBT on 9-4-05. Have you made any progess since then? What steps have you taken toward your lapband journey? Why didn't you join LBT then? Also, your PayPal isn't verified and that raises questions as well, especially since you've been a member since Sept 2004. <TABLE cellSpacing=6 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD noWrap>shakeerah21 <SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_103082", true); </SCRIPT> Registered User </TD><TD width="100%"></TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap>Join Date: Sep 2005 Age: 23 Posts: 1 </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> I Need Help <HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Please Can Anyone Help Me Im 22 Years Old And Every Day Depressed Because Of My Weight I Weigh 300 Pounds And Im 22 Years Of Age,I Have HighBlood Pressure And Need The Surgery Real Bad I Want To Get Surgery In Mexico But Im $2000 Short And Will Like To No Can Anyone Be Able To Donate To Me It Will Be Very Helpful You Can Donate To Me At Paypal.com gurlblackfire21@verizon.net Is The email Address To Use When U Donate On Paypal. If you are truly being honest, I'm sure Doty will be able to help you raise some awareness in your area and possibly help raise some funds. If you are trying to pray upon the wonderful hearts of people in this community, perhaps you should think twice. I don't really know why this bothers me b/c I'm not the LBT police. I just don't want good people taken advantage of if that's the case. If not, please accept my sincere apology for doubting you....it's my nature. Join this community if you are being honest. This is a great place.
  19. Hi Anthony ~ Glad to hear things went well with your surgery. I hope things continue on a positive note for you. :biggrin1: ~ Take Care ~
  20. :wow2: and :wow2: You are such an inspiration!! Onerland is too far in the distant for me, but you give me hope. BTW, cute little toes. :huggie: Thank you for sharing.
  21. Hi Little One ~ The waiting is over....you must be so excited!! I am very happy for you. April will be here before you know it. Best wishes for your happy day!! :thumb:
  22. I did some research online after finding out that Ambien was narcotic based and I was shocked to find actual treatment centers for Ambien specifically! I read that some people snort or shoot-up with this stuff. That really does scare me enough to stop taking it. I'm going to give it a shot tonight and see if I have any problems getting to sleep. :notagree I don't anticipate any withdrawals since I've only been on it for 2 wks. I think Ambien does have it's place, but I don't want to become addicted. I'm definitely going to Walgreens to get some Melatonin. :huggie: I appreciate this post so much since it has opened my eyes. Thanks again for each of you that contributed. There's a great deal on knowledge here at LBT.
  23. princess_n_thep ~ I am surprised that you think she did not ask US to donate based on her first post and you think that by being skeptical is being judgmental. Like I said, and as others had suggested, there are much better ways to raise funds. Unfortunately, we do live in a society of scammers....I know b/c I do a lot on E-Bay and I've seen a lot. I recently had a guy that contacted PayPal saying I didn't ship an item 3 mos ago. Needless to say, I expected this some day and had documentation and contacted PayPal immediately. It didn't go any further. I would REALLY encourage you to donate and support this effort if you feel so strongly about it. More power to you and her! I for one, cannot afford to take the risk of donating to something of this nature where the questions are too many. Cashley & Doty said it all very well. My mother does a lot on the computer and finds PayPal challenging at times. Don't you think if someone has "never worked a day in her life", her words, has something to offer skill wise to earn some money? I guess I've been with E-Bay and PayPal for too long to be so eager to support this idea. I have had numerous of attempted scams that have come across my e-mail. In addition, I have been a victim of identity theft. Does that make me judgmental or not open-minded? I think not. Just last week, my husband and I pulled over to offer a homeless man a chicken dinner from Lee's. He thanked us, but turned us down b/c he was a vegetarian. It was a good lesson to teach our children to at least TRY to help those in need. The Lord is good to us and I would help anyone with anything if I was able. I have a very kind and tender heart, but I do have to protect myself and family first.
  24. Oh my, I really feel bad for you and your husband. I can't imagine facing that so soon after surgery. Sounds like you are married to a wonderful man, which is a special blessing. You both make a good team and will get through these little bumps and it will soon be smooth sailing. Before you know it, Mr Hobbs will be begging for his protien first! :dog: :rolleyes You know, I met with my dietitian today and we discussed support groups. I told her I was coming here (LBT) and this seemed to fit my needs. She said that they offer meetings where family members can come to learn more about their role in this process. Afterall, this is a major change and it will have an impact on everyone in the home. This was the first time I gave thought to training my husband. Sounds like that may not be a bad idea if it could be worked out. Take care of yourself and sip easy. :guess
  25. Never...Never...Never in a million years would I even consider donating to this. There are more legitimate ways to raise funds.
