  1. Hey Choirgirl I'm new to the forum also - I was banded on the 16th as well. Glad to hear you're doing great. I have head hunger though - I've been cheating on food. Today I had 1/2 a veggie burger (morningstar) and yesterday I had 1/2 slice of bread.
  2. :help: Is this a new disability of the band? I have been banded 10 days and I get these awful sharp shoulder pain. It started about 4 days after surgery. These don't feel like the gas pains which get better by walking and eventually burping out (sorry for the visual). These pains occur when I'm up and about - even if I'm sitting around as opposed to walking around. Ibuprofen helps some but laying down on my left side is what fixes it. Is it just me - anyone else out there?

This is all new to me. I am hoping by keeping this journal I will be able to stay on track. I have been banded 10 days now. Basiclly, I feel good. Usally I'm alway on the go but now I get tired very easily - have been needing naps. Incisions are 99% healed and the port area is the only place that's tender. I still get shoulder pains though. I'm able to eat now and that scares me. I am only 10 days and can eat almost normally just less of it. Does this mean soon I will eat more and more and MORE....... Today, I was at a meeting where I ate lasagna, bread and brownie. :think I feel guilty and horribe!

  5. I too told only my hubby and only on his insistence told my kids. They have been great! I have been banded 10 days now - so lets see if my this becomes common knowledge over time. I will warn you that for a week after surgery unless you can 'be out of circulation' you will need a explanation to others as to why you are slow (slower than usual) to walk, can't bend over, have trouble sitting down and getting up. Good Luck with your surgery!
