  1. I take my meds while I’m drinking. There’s no other way to do it.
  2. Ask them for a different med too. They can find something good. The IV ibuprofen (Tramadol) was really good for me, better than the morphine PCA.
  3. The first two days are rough, no bones about it. Hang in there, it starts getting better soon. I was off my pain meds except Tylenol by day 5.
  4. Hi there! I’m one month out from my VSG surgery and I’ve lost 47 lbs (21 before, 26 after). I’m still about 48 lbs from the weight I was 20 years ago, but my wedding ring is really loose. The fat had gone all around the ring, but not right under it. I’m wondering if the fat will remodel under my rings so they will fit again, or if I will need to get them resized. Thanks! 5. I think you will be ok. I got really run down when I went to the kids ball games in May and it was 50-60 degrees. I got really cold and couldn’t warm up. Don’t do too much. Now that that it’s hot, it’s hard to get enough liquid in me. If you are hanging around the house you should be ok. Mine are older (8&13) and I made them bring me stuff.
  6. I’m at 25 days. First couple of days were rough. Take your pain meds and rest. It dies get better. I’m pretty sick of the pureed diet, but other than that it’s ok now. Once you start seeing results it makes it easier. I bought some clothes around the two week mark which was fun.
  7. If you have acid reflux, did you talk to your doctor about bypass over sleeve? Sleeve can make acid reflux worse, that’s what my doctor told me.
  8. I was up a few pounds after surgery and didn’t lose for 4-5days. I have lost 24 lbs in 23 days. Just wait, it will come off.
  9. I got plain old Hood Fudgsicles. They are all sugar free, but don’t have Splenda so no aftertaste. Main ingredient is nonfat milk, and nutrition looks similar to pudding.
  10. TBH, the pre op diet was harder than the post op. Because I *could* still eat stuff.
  11. This is important for your health and your quick recovery. You can do it!!!! I have faith in you.
  12. I got some fudgicles last night. That was good.
  13. I hear you! i moved from Morbidly to severely obese. I’m less than 10 pounds from obese!! Hooray!!
  14. I can see a difference! Looking good! Especially your face and arms. People started noticing my weight loss just now-I’m done 43 lbs (21 presurgery and 23 after). I think people don’t look at our bodies that closely. For me, I look at myself so judgementally and negatively that it’s hard to be positive about myself. I’m working on it.
  15. Hang in there. I was really hungry when I was having liquids. I started picking the thicker things on my plan (humus and peanut butter) and started feeling full. I went shopping for some new clothes too which cheered me up.
  16. I had surgery on May 9th. My program had me move to 2oz of puréed food 6 times a day after I came home from the hospital. I have been eating hummus a lot, that seems to be very satisfying. I could finally have egg beaters with cheese a couple of days ago and it was delicious! Doing well with my incisions and pain. Im really pleased with my weight loss. I have been able to sleep without my hated CPAP and my husband says I don’t snore anymore. 5’5” HW 255 SW 234 (5/9) CW 213 First GW 180
  17. On my plan, V8 or isopure count as meals and I have to have those as 2 Oz portions. I’m allowed water, crystal light (vitamin water etc) and unsweetened no caffeine teas. Good luck!!! I hope this help you.
  18. Smooth move tea is good. And there is always Fleet suppositories- you need to take those orally.
  19. Glad to hear that things are going well for you. I’m just a couple of weeks ahead of you. Once the weight started coming off for me, it was very validating and makes everything a bit easier. Wishing you a quick recovery.
  20. I was very hungry days 3-5 and I was freaking out. The liquids and soups weren’t enough for me. I’ve been eating hummus and pudding (2oz each) and peanut butter (1tbls) each. That is thick enough to stay in my stomach and make me full. Good luck. This too shall pass.
  21. Hug a pillow. I’m about 2 weeks out and that helped me. Taking my Tylenol helped too.
  22. Great job! What a difference! Thanks for sharing the bad and the ugly too. Congratulations!
  23. Amazing!! How long are you off work for this?
