Briswife15 got a reaction from FancyChristine15 in Anyone NOT taking their vitamins?
I haven't had my RNY yet, but from my research it is non-negotiable for both sleeve and RNY patients-- both must take vitamins! RNY just requires more. Do you really want to risk your long term health? It is part of what you signed up for! So, find some Vitamins and Calcium you like and just do it. [emoji846]

Briswife15 got a reaction from 2Bsmaller18 in Pre surgery- planned bypass now thinking sleeve
Hi. I'm pre-surgery and hoping to have my bypass in January. I have significant GERD which is mostly controlled by Dexilant and Zantac. I briefly flirted with the idea of the sleeve, but my surgeon won't do it on me because of the reflux. The sleeve has the potential to make reflux worse. Good luck with whatever one you choose!

Briswife15 reacted to Orchids&Dragons in Scheduled for a WLS consultation next month
Welcome to the site. It's a very supportive and friendly community and you can pick up a lot of info, as well. Just remember, we are all random people on the internet who do not even play doctors on tv. Use your common sense and if you're not sure, run the question by your team. They are the source of your "official" playbook.
The things you listed above are common to every single surgery. Not everyone gets them, but some do. You really can't use any of those criteria to decide which option to choose. You're doing the right thing by researching now. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Briswife15 got a reaction from Frustr8 in Instant Pot?
I've heard good things about the Instant Pot and am thinking of getting one. There are just 2 of us at home. Should I get the 6 quart or 3 quart? If we want to cook a roast is the bigger size better? Any tips or advice?
Thanks!

Briswife15 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Vitamins
Didn't your surgeon give you a list of recommended Vitamins for before and after surgery? I take Bariatric Advantage Prep vitamins and I'm pre surgery. I use the Bariatric Advantage chewy calcium citrate in caramel flavor. They're delicious.

Briswife15 got a reaction from Hrsnjs in Sleeve or Bypass... help!
My surgeon won't do a sleeve on me because my barium swallow showed reflux and moderate dismobility. He said it was likely the reflux would get worse. I am on strong meds for GERD and still have reflux. So it is bypass for me. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Briswife15 got a reaction from vrice in At home sleep apnea test???
I also had the home test gor sleep apnea. I had something around my chest with a battery pack, and a thin cannula type thing just inside my nostrils. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, and now have been using a CPAP for about 18 months. No problems with insurance covering everything.
