Thanks! I like your positive advice. I'm never gonna mention to her that I think she's acting a little off, so, great advice to just be myself. I probably won't tell her how much I lose, or what I weigh, though[emoji4]

I had to switch my extended release antidepressants to an immediate release one. But kept taking them.

Yes! So glad you posted this because I was just going to post the same question!! I'm 57, and 4 months post gastric bypass, and just suddenly started having acne on my face. Primarily on my chin, but cheeks and nose, too. Ugh!

Yeah hon. Competition and jealousy do strange things to peeps. She's also looking at your through her obese filter of you. So any loss looks "small" to her on you. Go for where you WANT to be in your heart of hearts. I think 125 is a great place for you.

So, I saw my very best friend last Saturday after not having seen her in a few weeks. While we were talking about my weight loss, and I mentioned I was in a bit of a stall, she very firmly told me not to lose too much weight, and that I shouldn't get smaller than a clothes size medium!
Background on her. She used to be obese and lost 60 pounds a couple of years ago. She is still an "apple " shape with a bigger tummy, but basically looks good.
I'm still obese at 5'3" and 174 pounds, but will soon be just overweight. I have not been overweight my whole life, but she has only seen me obese. Most of my adult life I weighed 125 or lower, which looked good, and was healthy. I did wear small sizes.
Do you think she is somehow feeling unsettled by my weight loss? Does she want to keep me the heavier one?
I love her dearly but am wondering what is going on!

Are you sure it is true hunger and not an acidy feeling in your pouch? Are you on any meds for heartburn? If it is true hunger it will get better as you move through the food stages. Sorry you're feeling this way.

Not all meds come in liquid form, but SOME (Not extended release) can be crushed. Your Doctor should work with you to find the best method for each of your meds and alternatives, if needed.
I stopped my B.P. meds the day I had surgery. Normal B.P. now.
Gerd meds will be done in 3 more weeks, hopefully.
CPAP- don't know yet. I will likely get a new sleep study before years end.

Ok, sorry but all magic comes with a price sweetie. I don't know if it's dangerous per se...but unless you're sick or a super athlete sweating buckets, most of us should NOT be jacking with our electrolytes. And we certainly shouldn't be using some kind of micellar cellular technology to jack with it.
There are NO shortcuts. Drink your Water hon...just drink. WE all have to do it. Don't try to game the system. You might end up in the ER with a heart issue. Electrolytes are serious mojo and most of our bodies are very well positioned to keep them balanced.

You're very newly out of surgery. Of course trying to stomach things other than liquids will hurt! Please try to be patient with your new anatomy and with yourself. I promise it will get better! Follow your plan to the letter, and hang in there!

I agree! Focus on being mentally prepared, being positive, and finding the right surgeon. Extremely rare to have to go "back under the knife." You've got this!

My insurance company was billed roughly $50,000 for the surgeon's fee, anesthesia, and hospital, but they only paid a portion of that.

I'm worried that you haven't even had the surgery yet and you're already counting down the days to foods that likely got you into trouble in the first place. WLS requires major adjustments in the way you think about food and eat for the rest of your life. I eat hamburgers now, 7 months post-op, but without the Buns. I don't eat pizza. You'll always be able to order something to socialize with your friends - a chicken breast, a salad, salmon -- something healthier. You'll be able to eat solid foods about a month after surgery.
