Help! Ideas for clear protein, can't drink whey

I love this stuff. I use it when it isn't convenient to mix powder when I travel. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hunger...

Protein truly makes you feel full. Even protein powder with water. With milk it seems really rich and you get additional protein from milk. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre Op Liquid Diet

Thanks. There are lots of tricks you can use like making ice cubes out of your protein shakes and using them in a thermos to keep your drink cold all day long. Helps you consume all the protein and liquids you need for your physical job. I truly believe protein is key. It makes you feel full and helps with liquid needs. You can do it. If a 71 year old can, you can.[emoji56] Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

How big is your stomach after VSG?

My doctor and nutritionist both told me it would be the size of a banana. The amount of food on my plate is equal to: 1T protein, 1-2 t vegetable and 1-2 t fruit. I am full and don't always eat the fruit. I have a hard time getting all 60 oz of fluid each day but I try. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. My nutritionist recommended Celebrate multi and calcium. I went online and ordered Celebrate brand chewable multi-vitamins. They seemed expensive but everything is in them. I was buying many different vitamins before so this is actually cheaper. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    popcicles....

Also, you can freeze protein shakes as ice cubes. I added banana to my vanilla and 2 cubes were better than any ice cream bar. Beat the heck out of it to make it smoothe. Sometimes use milk instead of water for rich taste. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    popcicles....

My nutritionist suggested Jello brand. Unless you are allergic, you won't consume much because 1/2 of a popsicle is filling. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post op freak out

I am terrified to eat my first serving of peanut butter - that was one of my binge foods. I know, however, that I won't be able to eat much. My stomach gets full now. It didn't before surgery. I feel like my brain has been rewired by the surgery - that's a good thing Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post op freak out

I am too afraid of a sugar dump so I'm not tempted right now to eat anything with sugar or even Pizza crust. My only fear with this surgery was that people talked about how they threw up a lot. I couldn't even help my kids when they were little and throwing up I was right in there with them and it wasn't pretty. I have found substitutes for pizza crust and bread. I'm using cauliflower rice to make rice, grilled cheese sandwiches, and as a snack. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Colon/gas left side pain

I too was told to walk walk walk. However I injured my back two weeks after surgery and have not been able to. I find the slower I eat the better I feel. If I have any gas pain, I chew A Gas-X and it goes away quickly. I'm a month out now and I don't have the gas as much as I did. I have developed better habits as far as eating slower and very very small bites that I chew a lot. Also I had severe constipation from the pain medication due to my back. This really was difficult. But I'm past that now no more pain meds. I'd rather have the back pain. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Less Restiction

I Must have a variety of foods. If it's boring I won't stay with it. I am enjoying looking for recipes that will work for me. I just finished my first month post-op and have averaged a pound a day. I have two or three kinds of protein powder strictly for variety. I'm having jello and sugar free fat free Jello pudding. I make tuna egg, salad and even crawfish for my protein even though it's only one tablespoon at a time. I got really tired of green beans as a vegetable because I ate it everyday for a week twice a day. I've started cooking summer squash or broccoli and that has helped a lot. Good luck with your journey. I'm so glad I did it I have so much more energy now. My only problem is that I live alone and it's hard to make things in the smaller quantities. I have Frozen a lot of vegetables and fruit already prepared. That should help me when I can start having more as a quantity next month. Again good luck. Pre Op Liquid Diet

I had no problems. Lots of chicken and beef broth. It was filling and our weather was cool which made it better. It has been a month since surgery and I am averaging 1 lb per day. Next week I can add raw veggies and fruit. Looking forward to that. Sent from my SM-J327P using BariatricPal mobile app
