My surgery is scheduled for 6/6 and I’m wondering how everyone dealt with their pre op week liquid diet? That’s about the only thing in all of this that I’m worried about and would like to hear some first hand responses.

I had no problems. Lots of chicken and beef broth. It was filling and our weather was cool which made it better. It has been a month since surgery and I am averaging 1 lb per day. Next week I can add raw veggies and fruit. Looking forward to that.

Awesome thanks for the reply. It’s just starting to get hot here. My main concern is I work a super physical job so hoping I can get through the work days. And that’s awesome on the weight loss. Congrats

Thanks. There are lots of tricks you can use like making ice cubes out of your protein shakes and using them in a thermos to keep your drink cold all day long. Helps you consume all the protein and liquids you need for your physical job. I truly believe protein is key. It makes you feel full and helps with liquid needs. You can do it. If a 71 year old can, you can.[emoji56]

It’s not as bad as the days go on. Just limit yourself to temptations and keep drinking water when you feel that urge.

Freezing protein shakes can sometimes be beneficial and you eat it with a spoon to satisfy that eating urge.

Right now I can’t even handle broth, of any kind, so I eliminated it and just drink more water and having different flavors of sugar free popsicles work for me.

Ita hard but you can do it. I have a physical job as well and you just have to remind yourself to drink, drink, drink.

Yep. Day 8 of 14 days.
