Let's try it together maybe?! I've been reading about the pouch reset diet and I think I'll try that. I'm very down about allowing this to happen but I honestly feel like the sweets and crisps cravings are worse now than before I had the op. I remember the weeks after surgery I was able to eat much quicker than I expected to be able to but because I hadn't had any sugar I wasnt craving it at all. Maybe the pouch reset will help break that cycle again.

Hi thanks for the reply! It's weird, I've had a lot of issues but I feel okay about it, I think I would have had them anyway even without the operation!
I was on Probiotics but I didn't notice any difference but I'll try them again now for sure. I'll also ask about the upper GI too - thanks for the suggestion

Hi guys! I haven't been on here for a while but I'm 11 weeks post sleeve and generally feel good. I've lost 20kg and haven't thrown up once! however I've had some issues with stomach bugs - I had h pylori before the op and the antibiotics I took didn't eradicate it so I had to take another course afterwards. In the last 3 weeks I started to have issues with diarrhoea, stomach cramps and sometimes Constipation. At the same time, I feel like I'm not digesting food properly. Sometimes it feels like it's stuck in my throat. I also feel my stomach moving a lot and it makes lots of noise! I've had tests and I now have salmonella and c dificil and am on yet another course of antibiotics. Sorry for the long explanation but my question is, are my digestive problems (food getting stuck and "moving around" in my stomach, not the diarrhoea ) normal or would you think they're related to the bugs? My surgeon tells me there's no connection to the op but I can't help feeling the food getting stuck definitely is. I'm eating small and slowly and chewing well - should I try digestive enzymes or something? I have 8 days of antibiotics left.
    Thanks guys 💜

Part of my pre op test was an endoscopy and it came up in that. I had never even heard of it to be honest but I had gastritis type symptoms for quite a while and the doctors suspected it was gall bladder issues which it turned out not to be. They then said it might be IBS which they didn't really seem to know what to do about. So when they came back and said it was h-pylori it made sense and it seemed like an easy enough thing to fix.
I assumed the antibiotics I had beforehand would clear it up and it was fine to take them then. It was only because the histology came back after the op and said it was still present that I have to take this therapy. If you had an endoscopy before your op I think you can assume you don't have it. Also I'm sure your surgeon follow up will give you info about your histology -it might not require an extra test. But don't worry about it, I'm having a hard time with this now but a lot of people have this and don't even know.

@2shea October is ages away the treatment is maximum 2 weeks and absolutely fine pre surgery! Good luck!

Hi guys. Has anyone had h-pylori after the sleeve? I'm 5 weeks post op and before it I had an endoscopy that uncovered h-pylori. They wanted to get rid of it before my op so I went on what they call triple therapy, 2 types of antibiotics and a PPI.
After the op the histology showed that it hasn't been eradicated and now I'm on quadruple therapy which is the same again but with bismuth. In total it's 10 pills a day and they are giant. One of them tastes so bad it leaves a taste all day no matter how many times you brush your teeth.
I am feeling awful from this. I think it would be difficult for anyone but trying to do this with the sleeve is awful. The pills are so large and disgusting that I need a lot of liquid to get them down but that makes me feel so nauseous I can't eat. I also have diarrhoea. Finally I have insatiable hunger but mixed with nausea so that I can't eat but when I force myself to the hunger doesn't go away anyway. The pills feel like they're stuck in my throat.
Sorry for the long post I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through this treatment.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who finds it hard, I wasn't sure if I was just being a big baby about it!

I'm almost 3 weeks post sleeve. My recovery seems to be good in that I'm already eating solids and they don't feel any different than Soups or purees. The problem is I can literally eat two bites of something before it becomes painful. I'm chewing lots and eating so slowly that I have to reheat every meal but I go from really really hungry before eating, straight to so full I feel like I might burst and I have to sit still for almost an hour. It feels like the food is stuck in my chest almost, and when it reaches my stomach it's just like waves of pain. This even happens with Soup. I'm not struggling to drink my Water and I'm getting about 1.5-2 litres a day.
My main frustration now is I haven't lost any weight in over a week. I think im eating about 600 calories a day but i cant eat anymore with how uncomfortable eating makes me. I've been reading about stalls but I've tried eating more carbs etc and nothing is working. I know I'm early days still but I'm losing heart, it's very frustrating.

Well I've been eating food since posting this and I'm relieved to report everything has been great! I'm finding it a big change to eat really slowly. I was never a fast eater but I need to slow it down to the point where the food is going cold! But that's a small inconvenience and I'm so relieved that so far I haven't had problems with anything I've eaten. It's shocking how little I can manage but that's the whole point I suppose! All in all it's going great. Xx

Hi all thanks for the replies. I spoke to my doctor and like Jess said it's acid. He put me on a tablet (not a PPI I can't remember the name I'm sorry) and now it's fine.
