Medic alert tattoo
Anyone get a medic alert tattoo after surgery? I wear a bracelet because I am allergic to 5 medications. No more words can fit on my bracelet. I’m looking for ideas for a tattoo, so if you have one with your WLS info will you please share it with us. Toodles, Rue

Endoscopy
No, it was a special test I had to have done. I did get an Endoscopy done later that day & I was knocked out for that! An Endoscopy has to be done before the WLS to make sure everything is ok in your stomach because it’s going to be a lot harder to look in it afterwards! Toodles, Rue

Endoscopy
A narrow but long tube was inserted through my nose. It was supposed to pass all the way down to my stomach & then I had to drink water though a straw to test the pressure in my esophagus. Because my fundolpacation has come undone my esophagus is L shaped so the tube never made it to my stomach. It was an awful experience! Toodles, Rue

Pre-admission testing
It’s probably just getting blood work done. Some hospitals will give you a special soap to wash your body with the day before. Toodles, Rue

Endoscopy
You will have to change into a hospital gown. You will be knocked out & won’t remember a thing. When the pressure was tested on my esophagus I was awake & had to swallow, that was horrible & I hope I never have to do it again! Toodles, Rue

Taking meds
How do you take your daily meds after surgery? I take gabapentin, estradiol, pantoprazole, citlopram, atrovatatin, & montelukast daily plus pain meds as I need them. How are meds broken down after a RNY?

Fear of Chickening Out
They way you describe your eating patterns sorta sounds like you have a lot going on besides sticking to a diet/new way of eating/making better choices. My daughter has a binge eating disorder that she sees a psychiatrist for & takes medication for. You should get this checked out so that you will be successful in your weight-loss journey. Weight-loss surgery can only do so much. We all are subject to relapses and putting the weight back on! Toodles, Rue

Fundoplication/RNY
You haven’t heard of a Fundop? I am having it done at St Joseph’s hospital in Phoenix AZ.

Fundoplication/RNY
I am having a Fundoplication undo & a RNY on May 16th. I have chosen to have my Fundop repaired this way instead of taking the long way to loose 75 pounds. And this way it will be fixed permanently. Anybody else have that done?
