  1. Has anyone’s spouse been unsupportive of plastic surgery?

    Persistent low vitamin D3

@postop Saw where you had the DS several years back and wanted to ask you a few questions. 1. I saw somewhere that you commented about calcium citrate vs carbonate. So what’s the issue with carbonate? I have been taking carbonate and am having kidney stone issues again and wondering if it’s coming from the carbonate or rather it’s making them worse. 2. What vitamin do you take daily? I found that Bariatric advantage has a vitamin specific for BPDS patients and I only have to take two a day and then add an iron supplement and calcium. My blood work with the exception of vitamin D is all normal. At that time wasn’t concerned with the D being a little in ten low end . I’m almost a year out this month.

    Twin Peaks Protein Puffs

Please share what you have found that tastes good. I do like the Atlast protein beans in the garlic flavor and ranch flavor. Have wasted a lot of money trying various things which were not good.
  5. Sometimes not only will I hiccup or have a runny nose but I will also burp which my nutritionist says is normal will full

    shocking the system

Mousecat88 I completely agree with you. I have no intentions of even trying what I would consider a trigger food for me. I know it would only take a bite and then it would be on possibly and I don’t want that to happen. Surgery alone doesn’t do it and you have to eat the right foods (protein, etc) portion control, water and I also believe exercise to keep the weight off. I like the saying “You’ve come too far to only come this far” which I think can apply with WLS.
  7. What county are you from and thinking about having a meeting at?
  8. For me it’s everyday. Did the same before surgery. I need the accountability. Almost a year out.

    Laying in hospital now

Normal to question what have I done. Walk, walk, walk. Sip, sip, sip. Repeat. Sooner you get up a move the better you will feel. Had me up walking same day.

    DS and vitamins and biotin?

The Bariatric Advantage has a High ADEK Multi that is specifically for DS patients. You only have to take 2 capsules a day. I also take 45mg iron and 1800mg calcium. My bloodwork at 6 months out was perfect with this vitamin regimen. Sent from my Pixel XL using BariatricPal mobile app

    Does Belching/Burping Ever Stop?

Yes, should be part of the "new normal". I'm almost 6 months out from Bilopancreatic deudonal switch with double anastomosis and the nutritionist told all of us who had different forms of weight loss surgery at our seminar that the following symptoms let you know your full: hiccups, burp or nose running. She said that once you have that first symptom to stop eating because that means you are full. If you don't have the symptom eat until you do. She told us that we have to train our stomach to know the full filling because if we don't we can sabotage our weight loss by either not eating enough or over eating. I normally always hiccup or burp. We were also told to allow ourselves 20-30 minutes for each meal 4-6 times a day and spaced out 3-4 hours. Sent from my Pixel XL using BariatricPal mobile app

    Not as expected

Congratulations on your BP/DS. I'm almost 6 months out from my Bilopancreatic deudonal switch with double anastomosis. If it helps write down your liquid intake and protein. The most important thing right now is to stay hydrated. As far as supplements when your Dr allows you to swallow your vitamin check out Bariatric Advantage. They have a vitamin specifically for BP/DS patients and I only have to take two a day plus my iron and calcium. My Dr said NO to vitamin patch so check with your Dr before purchasing. This surgery has changed my life. Wish I would not have waited so long. Good luck. Sent from my Pixel XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I will be 11 weeks out tomorrow post Bilopancreatic Deudonal Switch and I still have trouble somedays getting my fluid/protein in. There are days I have to make myself eat and some days I will be starving for one of my mini meals. I feel that my weight loss has been slower than what I would like however my surgeon says I'm in the range of what he wanted to see. He says some have lost more and some have lost less. As far as the taste I still don't feel that my taste buds are like they were before surgery. Also for the vitamins Bariatric Advantage has a vitamin that is specifically for DS patients (High ADEK Multi capsule) and I only have to take 2 a day with an added iron and calcium. 15. I had wondered the same question prior and eighth after surgery. I was around 6-8 weeks before I could get to my water goal of 64 ounces a day. And still struggle somedays. It will get easier with time. Sent from my Pixel XL using BariatricPal mobile app
