  1. my reflux was so bad i would wake up with acid everyday in my mouth. my sleeve was never right from the start. i could never est anything solid. i had bypass, the surgery was tough but wasnt horrible. i was really weak after surgery so i was in the hospital for 4 days. since the bypass in september i have had no reflux and heartburn twice. i can eat basically what i want so im very happy
  2. actually, many docs wont do the sleeve if you have bad reflux. i can tell you that since i had bypass i have had heart burn twice...nothing that I would even call reflux. i used to be on protonix but havent taken it since the bypass. they also do the barium swallow to see how bad the reflux is
  3. well i had the same thing...band in 2008...sleeve in 2010. i had a tummy tuck in 2011 and i had bypass in 2013. i was down to a size 8. i initially lost about 5 lbs with bypass but now ive gained 10 lbs and im struggling to get down to my pre-bypass weight.
  4. i had severe reflux with the sleeve and had bypass in september. i was concerned also about losing too much weight and that hasnt happened at all to me
  5. i ha the bands, was revised to the sleeve and now the bypass. with the sleeve, i had severe reflux and vomited many times a day. that is all gone ive had some other issues with intermittent abdominal pain that they are working on now. but it is still better than what i experienced with the sleeve
  6. i buy my calcium through them
  7. it was my 2nd revision also. the healing went well. i was very weak after, i was in the hospital 4 days but after that everything went well. it took about 6 months to get my energy levels back

    Do i have a stricture?

i had problems with tuna after my bypass
  9. i use flinstones vitamins (thats what my doctor recommends) and i get my calcium from bariatric advantage and i also take over the counter iron
  10. i wont lie. the RNY was rough. i ended staying in the hospital 4 days. i was very weak after. but it got better fast. i went back to work in 4 weeks
  11. actually i was revised from vsg to bypass and i had the concern and i have not lost much weight since the RNY but my reflux is gone!
  12. well i have had a complicated journey. i had the band in 2008. in 2010 the band slipped and i had the sleeve done. after the sleeve it was pure agony. i vomited basically everyday and had awful reflux. in september i had RNY done...it solved those problems, ive had a few issues since but not as bad as those. i needed to have my gall bladder out. that was done and i cont to have intermittent abdominal pain. the pain is severe but doesnt last long. my surgeon thinks i may have an internal hernia. he wants me to have a diagnostic laparoscopy to rule this out. i am so much better since the RNY

    Sept POST OP

i had my rny sept 19th but i wont lose too much. this was done due to a complication from the sleeve. ive lost 10 lbs and would love to lose 5 more.
  14. i had my gall bladder out december 7th. honestly the gas was worse before having my gall bladder out but im still having episodes of abdominal pain...not sure whats causing that
