  1. Yeah I've had a few people tell me they needed them longer. I just hope this isn't a problem forever [emoji20] I got the script refilled the next day. I couldn't handle the heartburn it was awful! If never experienced that before!
  2. Are you guys on a PPI or something to help reduce acid for the first few months? I was on a PPI for 8 weeks. I stopped abruptly when I ran out and 2 nights later had the worst heartburn of my life. I never had heartburn before surgery [emoji20] Feeling scared and discouraged that this may become an issue. I didn't have someone tell me you should taper off those slowly so you don't get hyperacidity. So I will try that soon.
  3. I had to start working out daily or the scale won't move. Once I was cleared I started and the scale hasn't been as mean!
  4. I am glad to hear you found some things that help that are not medication! I definitely don't want to take this forever. I am going to make an effort to not eat or drink anything 2 hours before bedtime and going to watch my fat intake. Interesting pickled ginger huh? When I decide to go back off it I am going to lower my dosage slowly and definitely get in the habit of eating and drinking earlier. I always find myself trying to get my water and last vitamins in right before bed and that probably isn't helping!
  5. Oh yeah I don't mean right now haha I mean in a few months like when you decide to stop taking it [emoji4] I feel you girl I couldn't eat anything and it was awwwffuuuulllll.
  6. Girl me either my pain was so bad I couldn't even sleep. It kept waking me up. It was so awful. I never knew what heartburn felt like but I sure do now. Well fingers crossed for us both! I would definitely try to cut your dose slowly if you can I think it will help a lot!
  7. Oh my gosh I felt so alone. Not that I am happy your dealing with it too haha, But yes not fun at all! I was so scared of this issue. But my doctor also said it should get better but I am a nervous wreck! That was awful and I never want to deal with it again! All the positive thoughts our way! I had a couple people tell me that stopped cold turkey can be alot worse and that they started weening off it by going to one every other day for 2 weeks and then one every 3rd day until they are gone to kind of ease your body back into it. What mg are you taking? Just out of curiosity I was on one 40mg a day and while I was taking it I was fine. But the second day without it all hell broke loose literally.
  8. I was able to eat an 8 piece grilled nugget at 8 weeks post op no problems at all! Went down great and is my go to when I am busy!
  9. I am only a couple months out, but my first 8 weeks I was on pantoprazole to help with staple line healing. After 8 weeks they stop but I immediately started to get heartburn that kept me up all night and I couldn't eat anything because it hurt. I had never had heartburn before surgery. I am back on the pantoprazole for a few months, and I am hoping I can try to ween myself off slowly and get to a place where I don't need to depend on it. Has anyone else had a similar situation? Did your reflux get better? This was one of my biggest concerns with getting wls was reflux. I am scared I am going to need a revision [emoji20]

I am only 9 weeks out. My surgeon prescribed pantoprazole for the first 8 weeks. As soon as I stopped taking it I had bad reflux. I tried Tums and it didn't touch it. I had to call to get a refill Because it hurt so bad and I haven't been able to sleep or eat. I never had reflux before surgery and I am so worried I will need a bypass to fix it [emoji20] I thought I'd be ok with the sleeve and now I am so stressed I am hoping a few more months I can try to ween off of it slowly and see if I can get to a place where I don't need it.
  11. I just got off my 8 weeks of ppi (sleeved 11/21) and i am already experiencing heart burn. I never had it before surgery and I am so terrified this is going to become an issue. One of my biggest fears leading up to this was reflux. We went out with some friends last night and I took my vitamins right before I laid down because we got back pretty late... which I try to not do. Could this be why I'm having reflux tonight?
  12. i have been struggling a lot with loss these last few weeks. Its so frustrating i am 2 months post op and was in a stall for 2 weeks only managed to loose 1 pound. There are some benefits to losing slower but it has me feeling like im failing. Down 21 pounds since surgery but January has not been kind to me seem to be stalling and stuck at 202lbs
  13. yeah that is what i was thinking too i try to push for 1000 but usually end up 8-900 which i am ok with but i just seem to be stuck so maybe i need more. I will definitely try some new things and i will talk to my doctor! I have hear a lot of people start to loose again once they quit the shakes. Interesting i am not sure if i can get enough protein without them. Some days i do really well and some days i dont! It varies for sure! I have been trying to push more veggies because they are important and bathroom issues are real. I wonder if the shakes are making me constipated as well. I miss using the bathroom like a normal person that is for sure. I have been able to eat basically everything i havent tried a lot of raw veggies but i have had lettuce and lightly cooked bell pepper those both seemed fine. My sleeve likes everything except for eggs. those seem to give me that stuck feeling! i love broccoli and have started eating it again! I am trying to get more fiber/ healthy carbs in! hopefully that will help! Just trying to keep pushing through i know i am only 2 months and i hope my body will adjust soon Cant play the comparison game that one is killing my joy.
  14. The mental battle is so hard! I am struggling a little bit! My dietitian hasn't been very helpful so i am trying to figure it out on my own. i do log daily! I log everything i eat! I average on a good day about 900 calories. I am wondering if im not getting enough but i am not sure. Yesterday i got very busy with work and only managed about 500. I try to get as much in as possible but when i get busy its hard! Been taking all my vitamins and hitting 60g of protein a day. What guidelines does your dietitian set? These last couple days i have been getting a little bit dizzy, today i am upping my water intake and really pushing to get more. It seems like maybe i am not getting enough in. i always get at least 56 oz of water and then usually a protein shake and a low sodium V8 on top of that (for the potassium). iam going to try and get 3 bottles in today that will be 84 oz of just water! we will see if pushing more water helps!
  15. Yall i am feeling like a complete failure, I have only lost 1 pound in the last 2 weeks... I am so scared i am going to fail at this too. the mental journey of this is so hard. I am trying not to base all my success on the scale but its so hard. still wearing the same clothes and just not seeing a difference.
  16. That is so true! That is a good mindset to have! I stopped weighing everyday. But I got on the scale this week and didn't have a loss which was a real bummer. But I was on my period ? I'm wondering if that is why [emoji20]
  17. I am a slow loser too and it is so frustrating sometimes [emoji30][emoji20]
  18. Exactly it has got me feeling that fear of failure. I'm just so scared this is going to be added to the list of things that didn't work for me. So I out that dang scale away and am just trying to focus on me. Mental health is super important too and that wasn't doing good for mine at all! I look at my scale every morning but I haven't weighed since Friday! I am trying to stay strong until this Friday! Fingers crossed I see some sort of progress!
  19. I will be 7 weeks out on Wednesday and I am down around 20 pounds. Not bad ? I have successfully stayed away from the scale and will not be weighing until Friday!
  20. Yeah I seen to be around there too. I let it bother me when I don't loose so it probably is best to have him take it away so I don't focus on the number so much and just do what I know I need to be doing. It's just hard when you stall, but keep on keeping on right [emoji4]
  21. I feel like I keep stalling and it's making me very frustrated [emoji20] Still has me scared that I will never reach my goals. Anyone else having stalls? My husband is upset at my obsession with the scale and said he is hiding it because I get very discouraged. Been weighing everyday going to change that and only weigh once a week.
  22. Thank you! It feels slow haha. Especially cause some people drop weight like crazy! But I was a lower bmi so I was expecting not to loose as much as some! If I can stick around 10 pounds a month I'll be happy with that!
  23. I am 5 weeks out and down 18 pounds. Kind of a slow loser but hey I'll take it! I am the lowest weight I have been in a very long time!
  24. Not that I know of! I am very fair skinned so I do get red easier but I just feel like my face gets flushed and hot a few times a day.
