  1. Did you look in the food & nutrition forum? https://bariatricpal.com/forum/1048-food-and-nutrition/
  2. I had never heard of this. I just checked it out with one of my cousins who is an herbalist in Poughkeepsie and she recommends it highly. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the recommendation!
  3. Off Topic - Why did you change your username?
  4. We had our surgeries a week apart and I'm still losing a ton. Pulled a dead-mouse worth out of the shower drain this morning - UGH! But since all my brothers are bald, maybe I can't complain too much. I do expect mine to grow back
  5. That's the size I'd need at my house, maybe 2 of them!
  6. Wishing you all the best in your post-forum life!
  7. Another good one for all of us in the transformation stage:
  8. Totally fine. While you shouldn't take big gulps, once the swelling has gone down, you should be able to drink pretty much normally. Liquids won't stretch your pouch and you won't really start to feel restriction until you move on to soft foods. Believe me, you'll understand the difference when you get there! Congrats on doing so well!
  9. What are the best sugar substitues for 1-adding to cold food 2-adding to beverages 3-cooking/baking There are so many options, I'd like to hear what you've enjoyed (ok, and what you hated, too!) Thanks!
  10. Another great one! Amen!
  11. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother, what a sad and stressful time for you. My thoughts are with you and your family. I can't really help with the meals. I still get the lion's share of my protein with shakes. Good luck on your journey.
  12. Honestly I didn’t think about that. Thank you! That very well may have been the issue. Hopefully later I can do those because it was the best thing I’ve had since surgery but it made me have some pretty rough issues! You're still in the "introduce new foods one at a time and see how it goes" stage. Try again in a few weeks and see if you can handle it. (Maybe bring it home so you have a bathroom handy )
  13. Maybe you're just not ready for that much acidity yet?
  14. Was there sugar in it?
  15. Wow! Congrats! You must be grinning ear-to-ear!
  16. Thanks, I appreciate insight from a successful vet!
  17. So long as it doesn't hurt, don't worry about it. Liquids can't stretch out your sleeve. You should be able to easily drink 4-6 oz at a time now. (Again, not chugging, but normal-sized swallows)
  18. Does it still hurt when you drink? Two months out you should be able to drink pretty normally. No chugging, but not having to take tiny sips, either.
  19. Thanks, I'm always happy to learn new things! So, you would never just eat fruit, or just eat veggies? You always pair with protein?
  20. What ratio do you use? I'd love to copy your success! Was it recommended by your doctor or did you figure it out?
  21. At least corsets gave you some boobs. Jeans just created muffin tops!
  22. That's their job! You wouldn't want to put blue jeans on the unemployment rolls, would you?
  23. Your tummy is nearly gone! You look great!
