  1. Today I actually looked small to myself! This is the lowest weight of my adult life... I cant even imagine being smaller. Only 20 lbs to goal 1 then re evaluate from there.

  2. NSV today. I have been wearing my size 26 jeans which have been getting roomy. So today I decided to try on my size 24 Lane Bryant jeans and see if I could get into them. Not only can I get into them, they are also loose. That made me feel super happy this morning. Weight is still 243 but the inches are definitely moving.

  3. This is going to sound really freaking weird but I feel like I am in the twilight zone ... like this is all a bad dream I am going (or hoping) to wake up from. I hate food! I mean I fscking hate it! It tastes like saw dust ... I am never hungry and never have a desire to eat. Eating hurts and no one knows really WTF is going on. I mean they think the cause of this is the stomach ulcer but what if all this stuff heals up and I am still messed up? I am down 60 pounds and almost 6" from my heaviest but I could care less. I sleep but it feels like I get none at all. When I wake up even though my stupid CPAP says, "Hey dumbass! You had less than 1 apnea an hour. GTFU!" It's supposed to be really easy to find work because unemployment is low, yet I keep getting turned down for work. At this point, I am like what next?

  4. So today i weighed in at 188, the same as the day i entered boot camp in 1984.

Guess that leaves my next goal to be getting to the same 170 i weighed when i left boot camp.

That truly was the best shape i have ever been in.  Funny but even then my bmi would have been listed as overweight.

I have always carried the bulk of my weight around the middle.  55" around the waist was the largest  i ever measured and that was 1 month post op before i could bring myself to look at the number.  Today that is 40"

I am truly saddened when i see the posts of people struggling  so much post op with pain or illness because i so want everyone to have the same amazing experience i have enjoyed.

We all experience this journey differently and i truly hope you all reach a goal that brings you a level of comfort and happiness that you deserve.

  5. Thank you @Frustr8, @Creekimp13, and @FluffyChix for all the concern and well-wishes. Here is the update. I have a stomach ulcer infected with H. Pylori. This isn't good news because it needs to get treated with a pretty serious course of antibiotics. The upshot is we know what's going on. The downside is that I am looking at 6-8 weeks of antibiotics to fight this little b*stard off. I will also need another endoscopy in a month to make certain that the course of antibiotics is working. H. Pylori is a nasty little phucker ... it has been known to cause stomach cancer according to the Mayo Clinic. It's going to take a bazooka to kill me though. LOL!

  6. Yesterday I was a year post-op sleeve. I had my appt too. Doc wasn’t too happy...only because I let old habits slide back in. These darn emotions!! But even being an emotional eater, I cannot use it as an excuse. So, starting today, I have to start journaling my eating to stay accountable and show it to him in three months. Now, on a good note, I am just 5 lbs from the docs goal. About 20 from mine. Totally doable. I’m not complaining...I’m down over 80 lbs from my highest weight. Let me find some pics to post.....first, got to get my child to school! Be back....

  7. Two months behind me now, and my energy is finally picking up.  So for folks just getting surgery, if you don't immediately get the energy surge that people talk about, be patient!

  9. For the first time in 8 years, I was below 300 pounds!!!! I weigh 299.8 this morning, 9 days after surgery. Wonder how long it will take me to get to my next goal of 275?

  10. Week 8:  Lost 4.2#s this week, 38.8 pounds overall (including what I lost 2 weeks pre-op).  I am feeling optimistic that surgery is working for me!

  11. So my daughter reminded my she had a snap shot on her phone of me from about 3 months before i started this journey so pretty close to my max weight. I have had it for few days now and had to work thru my emotions before i could clearly decide if i wanted to post this or not. So the beard hides my 3 chins pretty well but well you can see for yourself. loose skin and all5af22ea94792e_afteredit.thumb.jpg.0ea9e2bb6c2ad3d5993563ef2e870ab6.jpg

  12. It was like a scene from The Exorcist tonight.  Pizza was involved.  And hanger, lol.  I stayed strong (somehow) and made my planned Curried Lentil Coconut Soup (soooooo good) and let my guys eat their #@$%& pizza without me.

  13. My stomach is itchy and numb! Wishing this feeling would go away!  :(

  14. For the next year or so I think I'm going to live here, yes right here on this site!

  15. Ughhhhh. Worst case of foamies/slimes I've had yet. It's been going on for nearly two hours now, and I'm not sure why. I ate the same thing for supper that I ate for lunch (half a piece of Mediterranean chicken from Denny's), and it sat FINE after lunch.

  16. As of this morning, I have officially hit 50 pounds down since surgery! That means I'm averaging 20 pounds per month. Even though it seems slow week to week, I can't argue with that!

  17. My body is not liking anything I attempt to consume this afternoon, food or liquid. Major foamies/slimes. Blech.

  18. Dropped below 250! I’m light enough to skydive now...if I do it naked! Ha!

  19. I had a setback yesterday. I went to the ER in severe stomach pain and nausea. It turns out that I had a stricture so the ER stabilized me and then I was transported to Wilmington Hospital, where I had the surgery to begin with. They did some emergent repairs. I am doing okay but in too much pain to get around. Anyhow, the surgeon emphasized rest and not getting up and moving. I will be discharged on Friday morning as they want to keep me for observation. Life happens but we keep moving, right-o?

  21. I can fit into size 16 now! I was a size 20 when I started.

  22. My surgery is in one week and I've been really trying to get below 300 before then. I set my goal this past week to lose 2.4 pounds and I actually lost 3.8 pounds. However, that still leaves me at 307.6. Not sure that I can drop 7.6 pounds within the next week, but I'll sure try. Also, it was my goal to get my blood glucose average below 200 and for the last week I've been able to do that too! Plus, I've upped my walking. I'm FINALLY getting in the right mindset :)

  23. As of last Friday, I dropped back into Onderland!!! Can't believe it! Last time my weight started with a one was at least 10-15yrs ago. Pic from this Saturday with my hubby and his mom at our house warming party. Other pic is me at my heaviest last summer. The transformation blows me away! As a reward for hitting this big milestone, I'll be signing up for a horseback trail ride - the first one I've been able to do in over a decade due to weight restrictions. I'm sooo excited!! I'm also training for my first half marathon - ran my first 10k on Sunday :D It's incredible what I'm able to do now, and everyday I'm thankful for this amazing tool that is helping me realize some big dreams.

  24. Tonight's experiment: wonton wrapper lasagna (made with ground turkey and a Greek yogurt cream cheese/mozzarella/cheddar/spices mix instead of ricotta, which I don't like) and tacos (made with taco meat pilfered from my sister's supper). In the oven now!
