I am 2 1/2 post op and for some reason I continue to have numbness in my right leg. The nurse says that it may be from Vitamin D deficiency but wont know for sure until the tests come back. Has anyone else experienced this?

Had that feeling the first couple soft food meals. I cut back the size and worked back up to the 1/2 cup volume for meals in about a week.

I'm five weeks out and I still get that. Some days are better than others. The acid reflux, heart burn, and nausea are no joke. I'm at the doctor's office now for a follow up. My surgery was 2/27/18 and I'm down 30lbs.

I was. My Dr. was grudgingly ok with it, understanding my work and travel schedule. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but I was absolutely fine with it.

Im dead ass serious, life is too short to go nack and forth with someone about something as simple as getting your own health together. It’s your life. If your own mate can’t understand that you are doing this to save your own life then obviously he doesn’t see value in your life. When someone loves you for you, there are certain things in life that yiu should not have to explain. I don’t settle or neither am I desperate, are you? My confidence was high before Vsl. So if it were me Hell yea i’d throw the whole damn relationship away. I say that because my girl did not want me to have the surgery for her own selfish reasons! This is my life and if u dont support me then you can take your ass own SIMPLE!!! Fool!

I can't believe it, almost a year ago I was 316 pounds. I was nervous, and eating every horrible and unhealthy meal I thought I would never be able to eat again because I knew I was about to change my life on December 14, 2016.
I was sleeved on 12/14/16 and it was truly one of the best life decisions I ever made. It was not easy, from being in and out of the ER due to dehydration in my early stage.. barely being able to eat anything besides liquids/apple sauce for 2 months.. to now being able to eat honestly anything, just with Portion Control. I'm well known on social media, and people always ask me what do I eat, what should they eat, did I get additional surgery etc.. even on here as I try to respond to all messages I tell everyone the same thing: My journey will NOT be yours. We are all different, we are individuals and our bodies are all different. My experience was deff not easy but yes I love my results. If you are questioning getting sleeved, do your research and then say YES. I was so nervous about getting sleeved, I researched for months before I started the process. I'm so glad I turned my life around. I am literally crying as I type this because I am so happy. food no longer controls my life, I do. The best feeling is self love and happiness... I was always confident but now I truly feel happy. 100%. And my journey is not even over yet, it just began.
I will post pics because the few friends I have on here always ask lol! Love you guys. And I love all my sleevers. ️

I cannot countenance a pattern of being purposely mean and spiteful to someone you love. This pattern of behavior is not normative, it is sociopathic. I feel strongly about this because I am a survivor of verbal and psychological abuse.

Here's a reality check for ya: abusive relationships make us sick, sabotage our hard work, and keep us fat.
Ditch anyone who treats you like this. Yesterday.
OP's boyfriend might just need an attitude adjustment that could be achieved with a little education and a heart to heart.
But if he doesn't knock this crap off....only a doormat would put up with it.
Some nonsense isn't worth working to correct. Makes too much of your life toxic.

Well thank you for the dose of reality from the world according to @summerset.
LOL, my high weight was 325. I'm now 208 this morning. I can ASSURE you that comparatively speaking, I now have a smoking hot bod even without further weight loss. Do I have some jiggly puff? Yep. Do I need to continue to lose and will that jiggly wiggle become more prominent? I am prepared for that eventuality. But MY guy who loves and supports me, tells me everyday how great I look. And it's pretty clear he wants me. And I can move better, have less pain while doing it, and it all pans out to better sex for us both...so I suggest we agree to disagree. It's a YMMV thing.

I had 21 day postop liquids...and I’m now in my 2 weeks of puréed. My surgeon is pretty conservative, but I’m all in with that...it’s not great, but what felt great is what got me here....

Just be open and creative and try different things until you find what works.

    You can do this!!

I was allowed to go to puree after my first post-op visit (12 days out), but every doctor is different (some folks left the hospital without a liquid phase). From my doctor's explanation these rules seem to be made up based on the least common denominator. Heck I told my doctor I wanted a pickle and he was basically gave me the go ahead to try anything so long as I chewed it well. The trick is that once you first start on food it is going to fill you up quick so in some ways its going to be even harder to get your Protein in.

I really do agree with what you're saying here....but your partner is a little bit different of a relationship than your mother in law, no?
I dunno...I couldn't look the other way on my spouse treating me like this. My mom in law...sure. Hubby? Nope.
But to each their own. Takes all kinds to make a world:)

I don't think it's cheating... but lets just assume it is for a moment. if it's cheating then congrats! You found a shortcut to get healthier, feel better and be happy. If VSG is cheating to get there then awesome and good for you! If you had a magic button that did the same thing that might really be "cheating".. and you would press it, so would he and anyone else.
He's not being supporting and that's a whole other issue, but you might make the point that cheating or not is totally irrelevant and you're making big important changes for your health and happiness and you'll do whatever is necessary to get that done. You might ask if Chemo is cheating for cancer patients, or if surgery is cheating for other ailments?
Congrats on making an important and positive life choice for yourself. If he can't get behind you and support you in your journey find others who will.

I swear when they start practicing each surgeon picks their "pre-op" diet by throwing darts at a board. This diet makes absolutely no sense. It's not particularly high Protein. As far as I know you can't pre-load your body with Calcium. Just hilarious in general.

Just curious are you in the UK? I ask because that's where most of the references to the "milk diet" seem to come from.

Undergoing general anesthesia and surgery is definitely a trauma. I lost the same amount of hair at the same month post op from my gastric sleeve, my plastic surgery, my gallbladder surgery and my wrist surgery.

Nutrition is another cause of Hair loss. So always a good plan to keep it on point. But for some all the best nutrition in the world won’t stop it.

I had a non-WLS surgery a couple years ago and a fair amount of my hair fell out. No Protein or Vitamin issues, just getting knocked out and sliced up, and I'd say the surgeries were on par for duration and trauma. When I went to a hairdresser I hadn't seen in a while, she asked if I'd had a baby in the last year because my hair was showing the thinning patterns that post-partum moms get a lot (I was noticing it too). I've also had a segment of hair grow back coarse, which is odd. Right now when I put my hair in a ponytail there's one hell of a wisp over my left ear that shows about two years of regrowth all at the same length. My dad had surgery a year before that and his hair thinned for a while as well.
So aside from all the medical professionals drawing the link, I'd anecdotally say surgery and Hair loss have a connection.
