  1. How much did you lose this far?
  2. How’s the taste of that particular brand. My surgery date is 10/24 and can’t seem to find one I really like. Have you tried the grass fed protein Ones?
  3. We have similar stats (not sure about your height though.. I’m 5’6 and have an 8 yr old. I have a hiatal hernia (related to weight gain) my surgery is scheduled for the 24th though.. so you’ll be way ahead of me! :) That’s around the corner too !! I’m excited for you
  4. *waving* to all my fellow October surgery buddies. I am scheduled for the 24th of October myself :) Excited to join you guys and gals on the loser’s bench! Xox
  5. I would ask your prescribing doctor for an alternative and explain to him/her you can’t take pills after your surgery and need an alternative .. just until you’ve healed enough to swallow the regular cymbalta.
  6. *fingers crossed* :) I’m sending good vibes toward you and hope that you get it !
  7. Cindy t.. you can also call the insurance and ask if they’ve gotten the prior authorization paperwork for your surgery and if ‘yes’ ask them if they’ve sent it back to your dr’s office. Unfortunately the dr’s office can’t speed up the process but sometimes it helps if the patient themselves call and inquire about the status on the submission for prior authorization :) My insurance states that you have to wait 14 business days but I called after 5 days and got my letter the next two business days with the approval (hope that helps)
  8. Usually they book you because they kinda know you’ll get approved.. I used to work at a drs office :)
  9. We’re scheduled for the same day! It’s official on paper. Just got my approval letter in the mail yesterday. #congratulations
  10. Lol, congrats! I’ve been laying low with my progresss because of the same reason (of getting my hopes up) but today I got the call and I have my surgery date for 10/24 and my pre-op appointment is 10/4 .. I’m excited, nervous, and anxious. But I’m mentally and physically ready to get this done and over with so that I smash my goals and get my life back! :) When do you start you pre-op diet?
  11. I am sorry you went through that.. I’ve been there myself and have also been on the other side (where the physician was criticizing the patient ) and I reported the doctor to the office manager which then got to the main office and that physician was terminated. It’s unacceptable and if they are so disgusted with what they’re seeing and having to deal with, then clearly they’re not in the profession to take care of people and only in it for the money. I hope you find justice and that those people in that office are penalized for their actions. It shouldn’t have happened wether the patient can hear you or not -x
  12. I used a story like Tracy1978 mentioned. I told my boss that I found out that I have a hiatal hernia repair and will be going through a strict diet to prep me for surgery and will need about 1-2 weeks to heal as I can’t do any heavy lifting or strenuous lifting, pushing, etc.. she says to me ‘I have a hiatal hernia too! I just deal with it!’ And then laughed.. I said well I can’t deal with it and more power to you for dealing with the constant uncomfortable heartburn you’re probably experiencing from it (I can’t do it anymore) and left it like that.. I’m about 6weeks away from approval and then surgery. You can also say it’s personal.. it doesn’t have to be put out there (it’s really no one’s business) I had to take two weeks off from work and it was for a surgical procedure and didn’t say what the procedure was for (of course gossiping started) because I lost a few pounds when someone joking asked if I had gone for weightloss surgery I turned and looked at her and said ‘actually I had a miscarriage and had to go for a D&C’ (the look on that person’s face turned beet red) and she repeatedly my apologized .. no one knew why I had put on weight and then suddenly dropped it in four months(gained it all back and some since everything happened) since that incident no one had really inquire about my personal time off because really it’s nobody’s business. I just chose to use the hiatal hernia repair because it’s partially true and really I don’t want someone coming up to me and making a joke about it :/ Good luck to you and journey!
