    Soup!
    Definitely preempt the questions about how little you're eating by making some excuse. Been ill, had a late lunch, something.

    I’m in the soft food stage now and I can barely eat 1/2 a cup of food at each sitting so it’s going to be hard for ppl not to notice maybe tell her that you haven’t been feeling good and you’ve lost your appetite and you have a dr appt soon? Otherwise, order soft green Beans and mashed potatoes

    Hi! My name is Melissa. I’ve debated whether I should post or just remain a lurker... but here I am! Everyone here is so great and supportive, I figured it would only help me if I joined y’all. I have been overweight for literally my entire life, and have never been able to keep a significant amount of weight off for long. I have no co-morbidities, but I do have PCOS. I’m 5’4’’ with a weight of 279 currently. I’m having my gastric sleeve surgery Monday the 25th!!! I’ve been on a liquid diet since last Monday and have not cheated once, so I’m super proud of myself. I really wanted a whataburger yesterday haha. I wish you all the best of luck!

    I only had 24 hrs clear liquid.
    I'm honestly very grateful. I had my food funerals. I got some cravings out of my system. I don't at all think it has harmed my post surgical success.

    @Dee_Rose
    my doc told me NO to pre-op liquid diet. Wish i did do liquids pre-op, would have given me a leg up on lbs before surgery. I vote, " get your head in the game" and start eating better immediately. Couple of weeks before WLS - do liquids only.
    good luck

    Hi All

    I have my last appt on Wednesday (May 30th) and hopefully have surgery sometime in July. I have a 6 yo and a 4 yo. My husband is taking a week off work but no more than that. I’m wondering what it will be like on week 2. They have day camp from 9-3 on some days but aside from that will I be ok caring for them in a half ass way lol??? What was your experience?
    I’ll take any advice I can get.

    Mine aren't little anymore, but I would make sure you are not lifting any more than you should. The first week especially. Remember not to eat your kids leftovers. They will be eating more than you.

    I was very fortunate that my husband works from home and he has basically taken care of my 7 and 3 year old for the past month since surgery. But in all honesty I could have handled them one week post op for half the day. I think this will go as well as your husband lets it. If he takes over the childcare as soon as he comes home from work you will do fine. Good luck.

    Well I have to have the 4 consecutive months worth of meetings with the dietitian... then they submit after that last one and they said they hear back within 2 weeks. Did you have to stay at 40 BMI for the whole 4 months?? Would love to hear when you get approved.

    I have Aetna and just started for conversion. I was told not to gain even half an ounce from my initial weight at the first appt.

    Play the game. Pre-weigh yourself - sneak in the day before and get on the scale, and if you start to lose a little too much, line your pockets with rolls of quarters and put 2lb ankle weights on under your thick jeans, weigh with your shoes on - claim you are too tired to take them off. Get creative, you can do this.

    Had my first appointment , went well. He suggested I stay at 40 until the day of surgery so there is no denying my coverage.
