  7. Hi I am a California State Retiree. When I started checking into the insurance part of it I thought I would not get pre-approved. I do have BC/BS. My plan pays 80%. Which is Pers choice. Which is Public Employees Retirement System I went around and around with the insurance company. I just got what my insurance paid. I owe $8000.00 for the surgeon, surgeon assistant, and hospital stay. I owe $190.00 for the Anthiestolotgist. So my total is $8190.00. Which I am going to do through the hospital. Also I just want to let everyone that the St. Alphonsus Hospital it Boise is one of the best hospitals that I have been in. Also the staff was very superb. The hospital from the outside you would think it is a Hotel Hilton, or Marriotts.
  8. Hi As I said before I am sorry to offend anyone about there choice in Dr.'s whether it is in Mexico, or Boise Idaho. I am just glad I had this surgery. My Dr. name is Dr. Robert Cahn. I am just making a comment. It wasnt meant to offend anyone. It is my own personell preference. Like it was your own personell preference. I commend you for your preference and I totally respect your opinion. Please respect my opinion.

  16. Angie, There is a CD out called Aunt Matilda's how to do a cookbook. It is really good it shows and formats the cookbook. I am starting a family cookbook. Recipies from my Aunts, Grandmother, and myself. Here is the address The Cookbook People 3607 Yates St. Boise Idaho 83703 I believe the CD is $24.95 or $29.95.
  17. When I woke up in the recovery I had a very hard time keeping awake. They took me back to my room but dont even remember how I got there. I slept all day. After the surgery and went back home the my primary MD said she had called the Surgeon and told him she thought I should stay over night. We had a motel the night before the surgery and the night of the surgery so my daughter and husband could stay there. They were afraid that they would release me too earlier. But I made it and I am feeling so good. Glad I had the surgery. I am now on pureed foods and will be on soft food on the 22nd before my first band adjustment.
  18. I was told to take multi vitamins with minerals. Flintstones vitamis. That is really something. I am still on all my other medications too for Diabetes, High blood pressure, and insulin hopefully I will be off of the very soon.
  19. I am sorry if I offended anyone who had there surgery done in Mexico. When I was at the info. meeting in Boise Idaho there was a person that had theres done in Mexico it was really giving her a bad time. She asked the Dr. if he could work on her. He told her no she would have to go to the Surgeon back in Mexico. I am so glad there was success in having there surgery done in Mexico. I know that if I would have complications with my lapband I would like to be as close to my Dr. office. I applaud everyone who has had this surgery. You get a new lease on life.
  20. I went to the seminar here in Boise Idaho. If the surgeries are done in Mexico alot of Dr's wont touch the lapband. Yes I gues it is the malpractice. I cant blame them. My Dr said that there are alot of mistakes. I love having my surgery done here I dont need to fly to Mexico if something is going on. I have called the Office many times to ask questions they are so helpful. I would go with the hospital nearest to your house.
  21. I slept on my side when I came home from the hospital. I could feel the lapband I just switched sides and everything is ok. I am on the second part where I am eating puree until APRIL 22 then I get to go to regular food meat just chopped up.
  22. Hi my name is Sharon I had my band surgery on March 17th. before having it I was not feeling real good. I found out through my Primary MD about lapband surgery. I went to the seminar and immediately signed up for the surgery. I went to the seminar in Boise Idaho. I really like the surgeon I have.
  23. My Dr. gave me this website I am so glad there is a lot of support on it. Just in the last few days I have needed the support to keep me going with this. I have found it through the website. All of you are great.
  24. I went to to dr. today. I diced up chicken and told my dr. he told me that the band could slip. I will be back on puree. I am also taking protein drinks. puree veggies. Only 2 more weeks to go then I will be to go to chicken, turkey, To me it is not worth the band slipping. Paid alot to have this surgery. Dont want it to goof it up.
  25. I was told that I could possibly get off of my insulin and diabetes meds. But not my antidepressents.
