  1. Hysterectomy in 2016 here. I had surgery on July 12, 2018, and I am almost at my goal weight of 150 pounds.

    July surgery

I had my surgery on July 12th. I am down 50 pounds for a total of 87 pounds. I feel so much better but I can’t get used to how I look when I see myself in the mirror. I was so used to a round face that my thinner face throws me off. I’m not sure I like it yet. 😕

    Absolutely no appetite.

I was perfectly happy with my new appetite. I didn’t seek food out like I had before and that is wonderful. I am also thankful that I don’t have intense hunger like my sister in law. (Bypass patient) But gagging through food and only urinating once a day is a bit scary to me. I got the Isopure drinks my doc told me to get. This stuff is absolutely awful but I’ll drink it to help me over this hump.

    Absolutely no appetite.

I just spoke with my surgeon. She believes its the beginning of protein malnutrition. If I don't get my protein and water consumption up by Thursday they will be putting in a feeding tube. They suggested Isopure water to help me over the hump. I do not want a feeding tube.
  6. Hi All, I am almost 6 weeks out from my sleeve surgery and I have a call into my surgeon. From the moment I came home from the hospital, my appetite has steadily diminished. Last week I completely lost my appetite. I have to make myself eat and I usually gag it down. I can barely look at protein drinks and when I try to use them I cannot finish them. I am only meeting about half of my fluid requirement and obviously not meeting my protein goals either. I guess I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I certainly didn't mind a diminished appetite but the aversion to food is freaking me out a bit. I am hoping my surgeon will be able to shed some light on the subject but I thought I would bring it up here.
  7. Oh no I hope this doesn't go further I honestly think it’s just me introducing foods back into my diet. My doc said things could get sketchy with new things. I would think once we are back on normal food it will pass. My sis-in-law has bypass 10 yeas ago and she has developed some food issues. She cannot have dairy and some other foods cause her issues. So, I think it will be trial and error for us. Best of luck to you! I hope we both get some relief soon.
  8. I’m a month out and I still have BMs like this. I am still taking a stool softener that eventually helps but when I go I never know what I’m going to get.
  9. That was where the worst of my pain was. I also had a huge dent in my tummy. I’m 3 weeks out and I still get pain there.
  10. I was discharged and given pills to take. They just told me to space them out. Maybe you can ask for a tablet instead? I was surprised that I didn’t have to break any up. Right now im on 9 pills a day. I never did have a problem with them.

    July Sleeve

I just had my first experience with the foamies. Talk about a nightmare. I obviously didn’t chew well enough and I could feel that the food was stuck. All I wanted to do was vomit but nothing but foam and saliva came up. It took about 20 minutes to pass. So, foamies, stay the heck away from me.

    Strange Noises

I am a month out from being sleeved and my stomach makes the strangest bubbling noises. I’m used to it now but it started immediately.

Fabulous! Congrats on the weight loss so far. Best of luck tomorrow. You’ll be up and walking the halls before you know it.
  14. Hey all, Ive been looking for something to carry my drinks, protein powders, and pills for when I go back to work. I know I will still be needing a protein drink for some time to hit my daily goal. I can’t seem to find anything like this. I found one thing on Kickstarter and funded it. Of course that is not certain. Has anyone else found something like this that would carry everything?
