I haven't been able to warm up since my surgery. Is that a normal thing? Everything else is great! I am a month out from surgery. Is it my metabolism changing or something? Thanks!

Call it what you like...I don't need a product that is made of filtered Water to be spelled out for me. If you feel better saying "Drink" it's its all good.

I was sleeved 3/19 and it was horrible for me because. I was extremely nauseous. I couldn’t stop vomiting I had so many regrets. But come to find out it was the narcotics that use for pain. As soon as they took me off I was fine. No pain and NO nausea. Going home today yay. And my husband stayed with me which help a lot. So now only positive vibes from this point on.

I am being sleeved on the 19th as well and I’m so excited. Nerves are starting to kick in. liquid diet has been a rollercoaster but I’m getting through it. I know pain threshold differs between people but I’ve had 5 kids and mentally I feel like that is what’s gonna hey me through the pain lol. I know I’m not suppose to compare my progress to my husband. He was sleeved in Sept and he’s doing amazing. I’m just blessed that I have him by my side

This is gonna be long. Had surgery on 3/7/18. Went smooth per the doctor. No catheter, nurse said they don’t use them on such a fast surgery. When I woke no pain from the breathing tube luckily. What I do remember is being told to breathe because my respiratory rate was hanging between 8-13. Once out of recovery I was moved to my room.
Went on my first walk about 3 hours out of surgery. It really helped and caused me to burp a lot (get that gas out). Went on a second walk which got me to pee which made the staff happy. I walked a few times through out the night. Had killer dry mouth and they gave my glycerin lemon swabs to help. I went through at least 10 packs.
Next morning had first sips of Water starting at 6am. I had to drink an oz over 30 min for a total of 6oz. Went for a walk around 7 and finally passed gas. I sounded like ducklings in the hall and was laughing. Released around 11:30am. Was it really in much pain at the hospital as they kept the pain going in the IV.
At home the pain was not horrible, more discomfort. Stopped takin the liquid liquid hyrdocordone/Tylenol on Friday the 9th. My nurse said take some extra strength Tylenol if I have pain. Taking my Vitamins and meds per the doc. Finally had a BM on Sunday morning. I would feel a bit of pain sitting and standing up as well as rolling over at night in bed. Today on day 7 (my doctor called going home day 0) I woke up and rolled over and no pain. I rolled back and still no pain. I was like huh, so I sat up and stood and again no pain. It was like literally my body was done with it. Have never had that happen ever but have felt great today, even walking 25 minutes around the neighborhood. Best advice I can give is to walk as it helps the blood circulation which helps the healing process.
Now let’s get to eating. I have not really had hunger in this last week. I have to remind myself to take water that I installed the WaterMinder app on my phone. First 3 days I had Isopure Protein and water. Now on full inquisition diet and have a premiere Protein Shake in the morning and evening. I tried yogurt for the first time yesterday and ate half over 45 minutes and had the other half today. Also had progresso light Soup strained out all the potatoe and veggies, had half on Sunday and the other half Tuesday. Went out for dinner with family on Saturday night. My wife said she felt horrible because I could not eat but I was fine with my water. The water really keeps me full. I’m keeping a food diary and counting the calories and have an intake between 350-450 a day.
And lastly weight loss. My weight on suergey day was 306. Today my weight was at 292. I’m only a week in but am going to take advantage of the “Honeymoon Stage”.
Best advice I can give in this early stage is to make sure you get in your protein and water as best as you can and walk.
Sorry for the long post and good luck on your surgery.

Are you saying you're just having to do a single day of a liquid diet before your surgery? Cause if so then my tip is to say suck it up buttercup. Most of us had to do two weeks of this crap.

It’s been a long journey it feels like. I’m still trying to conquer getting in 64 Fluid ounces a day as well as 90-100 grams of Protein. I’m hoping this journey will get easier

Salasmall what has been working for me is a Ketogenic style way of life. High Protein, Low Carbs 20 or less, moderate Qualify fats. I love Carbs but for some reason they just like to congregate and have house Party's all around my midsection so we had to have a breakup!!! Find a chart with your correct Macros and plan your meals around it.

    Hello my name is Dee.
I’ve trolled on here (in a good way) to get, what I’ve found to be some very useful information. I’ve started my journey in November with my first appointment weighing in at 358 (I’m 5’8”) My second appointment was 12/21/17 and I lost 4lbs. Third appointment I just had 1/30 and I was down another 2lbs. My last and final appointment is 2/13 ( I do have nutrition and psych evaluation 2/7) then after that off to the insurance company (Aetna) to be approved. I’ve fluctuated so much with my weight. I’m super excited that I’ve FINALLY made this decision and so is my husband, whom by the way had his sleeve done in September and he’s down 94lbs and looks amazing! We support each other and that’s what matters but I also would love the outside positive influences from you guys I look forward to sharing this experience.

Look, different guidelines for different surgeries. We require that a patient stops smoking at least a month before surgery to insure a safe surgery AND healing process and if they haven’t stopped , we won’t do the surgery. We require certain medications either be started or stopped at a certain to prevent bleeding out!! The patient has to understand that it’s for their benefit

Simple. Why don't you get off of a Forum where people are roll players and go to FB and find here there. She documents absolutely every thing that is happening to her.

Disecting an individual who is no longer here is hard hitting? Yes. This is the appropriate thing to do on a weight loss forum.
This is getting boring. I have to go on a liquid diet shortly. Talk amongst yourselves disecting this person. I came to this forum to get help. Obviously it isn't the place. It's more a bully board. There are other places. Have a good time here. Bariatric Pal also lost a customer. There are other sites. I will not associate with a site nor a store that propogates hate. Have a good life everybody.

I have to agree. I work for Cardiovascular Surgeons and if you do not comply with the guidelines they WILL NOT do the surgery. It’s to make sure that you have the safest surgery possible. So with that being said, yes the doctor was rude and unprofessional but there is a frustration that is added on when they feel like the surgery is not being taking seriously
