  1. Yes, still taking a PPI every morning with my vitimans. Funny...ground beef is about the only thing that doesn't bother me. I'll keep chugging along...hopefully between the tums and the omeprazole it will settle down! Thanks for the input!
  2. Good morning. I am 90 days post op, have had not one issue, surgery was a piece of cake, recovery was totally painless and up until the past two or three weeks..........its been a breeze. Now, when I eat, regardless of what I eat, I feel nauseated, almost as soon as it hits my stomach. I am eating small amounts, chewing as directed, etc. Anyone have any idea's as to what would be causing this at this point???? Never thrown up, just get nauseated. Thanks for any input!!
  3. Thank You!! And good luck to you as well!!
  4. I'm scheduled Wednesday... however, I am on East Coast and not sure what this storm is going to do. DC is showing to be right in its path...
  5. Thank you for sharing this.......it helps to hear first hand how it went and makes us pre-surgery people less apprehensive.
  6. I am going to Mexico! Fly in to San Diego Wed. am. and have the surgery later that evening.
  7. I start the liquid diet today. I only have one week. I was going to start Sunday... but hey... that was part of the weekend!! I'm hoping by the weekend I'll be used to it! Where are you having yours?
  8. I am scheduled March 21st!!
  9. I found a liquid probiotic made by KeVita.
  10. Thank You! you've helped tremendously!!
  11. Having surgery in Mexico, after release, spending 3 days in San Diego. Any suggestions as to what I might pack/need those three days other than protein water?
  12. Yes, I've tried splenda and don't like it. I guess its what you're used to, I've used sweet and low in my coffee and saccharin in my tea for 40+ years!! I was sure hoping I could continue with it, I definitely don't like unsweetend coffee or tea!!
  13. Thank you! I just wasn't sure how my new stomach would react. I've used it for years, so it wouldn't be new..
  14. I am getting things together for my trip to Mexico. I will be staying a few days in San Diego before heading home. I've packed some peppermint tea bags in case of nausea, but wondering if I can use my pink packets of sweet and low or saccharin? I've read about a lot of artificial sweetners after surgery but can't find anything on Saccharin? Anyone still use this??
  15. I watched this guy, all of his video's ... if you go to You Tube and hear what he has said...about the Mexico experience... Dr Illan - Mexico Experience - BariatricPal Team MX - Vertical Gastric Sleeve - Post-Op
  16. I've struggled too, and the amazing thing is... I just got my results back from 23andme.... and it tells me genetically, I'm supposed to be small....hmmm...maybe after my surgery, my genes (and my brain) will get it right!! By going to Mexico, do you feel you're missing out on the nutrition and counselling information you would have gotten had you gone through insurance? I do, but I'm finding so much here and on the various facebook pages, but I still have questions...
  17. I read...and read... and read. I watched U-tube video's of sleeved patients and there was one that stood out to me. I researched him, the facility and then I read some more from any post I could find. Although I've not had to go through the months of pre-op insurance requirements, its still been a work in progress for me mainly because of the logistics of getting there and back.
  18. That would be nice!!... I'm not nervous. I'm excited, glad its happening. I'll land around 11, be picked up and am scheduled that same afternoon. I just want it over!!. Please keep us posted. I've scheduled a few days after being released to visit around San Diego. I hope I'm up to it!!
  19. I have used mine for about a month now.... and amazed at how much better I feel. I'm down to about 2 episodes a night and looking forward to seeing how the surgery changes this. Would love to get off of it, but feeling so much better (no daytime naps) makes it worth the effort.
  20. I am a March Sleever (21st) ...going to Mexico and hoping to enjoy the scenery afterwards!!
  21. Good Evening. I was looking at/working with Virginia Bariatric in Reston with a BMI of about 35. They were willing to do mine as I was "self pay". They hinted at appx $18,000. I opted out and am scheduled in March in Tijuana with Dr. Illan. Like you, I didn't want to gain weight just to be approved. There is a form on Bariatric Pal website you can fill out to see if you would be approved, if interested.
  22. I am going in March, but a week later. Please keep us posted on how you do. I am having the sleeve by Dr. Illan as well.
  23. I wouldn't dare "after"... I guess I'm asking if "Clear Liquid's" means just that... Thanks for the warning!!
