    Thank you!! Appreciate that!!

I do a Premier Protein shake every morning, an egg and bacon or ham or sausage link for mid morning snack (work cafeteria makes this one easy). lunch is a few ounces of tuna, chicken or egg salad with a few pickles or cherry tomatoes. Afternoon snack is Dannon light and fit greek yogurt. dinner is a Protein and little bit of veggie and then some type of snack in the evening (almonds, peanuts, etc). Dinner is pretty much the meal where I have the most variety. Other than that I'm content to be set in my ways and have the same routine just about every day. It's working so far so I figure I'll stick with it. I don't really get a sweet tooth but every once and a while I will have a piece of sugar free candy.

I do about 110oz of Water everyday and 90-110 grams of protein.

Same here, super frustrating and I have been doing everything right. Increased my exercise, eating healthier each month and I was down 4, now I am back up 3. Aghhh!

This has been my biggest problem. I’ve easily lost 30%. More like 40%. It started at around three months. I’m at six months this week and the loss seems to have slowed.
And yes guys a I hit my Protein targets, took my Vitamins (including biotin), used $80 Shampoo (nioxcin) and it still fell out. I personally ignore any smug people who say they they didn’t lose hair because they took Biotin or used some witch brew. Some of us are just gonna lose a ton of hair. I honestly couldn’t have done any more to try and stop it.
Its growing back now a bit. I can see little bits sprouting everywhere. When I first found them I did a little dance to celebrate!
It sucks big time guys. But I have lost 50kg/110 pounds so I have to hang on to that. Plus now it only takes 10 minutes to blow dry my hair. So that’s something.

I am kinda freaking out! Had gastric sleeve in October and my hair is significantly falling out. I know it is a part of the weight loss surgery journey but I feel if it keeps falling out at the rate it is I am going to be bald. What is everyone’s experience with this? Will it stop? If so when?

Statistics are just statistics. (And I say that as a person who does math for a living...)
My ex and I broke up in July after 8.5 years together. (And that is like 50 years in the gay world.) We both lost a tremendous amount of weight, and while that had some to do with it, it wasn't all of it. The last 2-3 years had been rough, and the last year had bordered on unbearable. When we broke up, I told myself I didn't want to be stereotypical, but it had to happen.
If you have a super strong relationship before you start your weight loss journey, you'll probably be just fine as long as you support one another and keep your communication strong. We didn't, and that's why our relationship had to end.
Like choice of surgery, or alcohol consumption, this just depends on the particular life situation of the individual/couple. My parents both had WLS in the past 13 years, and they are still together and have been married for 43 years. I know many others in the same boat.

In addition to recently have a sleeve myself, I also work for an insurance company. Are you sure it is completely excluded, or are there steps you need to go through? Ms y companies will pay if you try other things first. Can your Doctor argue that it is medical necessity? The results are proven, no longer debatable. Most insurance will cover over a certain BMI with other conditions. Make sure you are not just talking to the first line call center, but a case manager or someone in utilization management. It is cost effective for employers to cover these things in their policies now as it is more expensive to treat your other conditions long term. Sorry for probably too much info, just want to make sure you don’t have to pay if you don’t have to. That said, it is well worth it if you are ready to do the work. I have lost 65 pounds in the last four months, blood pressure is great and cholesterol has come down 40 points already. After 20 years of struggling with food, I finally have a tool to help me get control which has been beneficial physically, emotionally and spiritually. Just my two cents! Best wishes!

Thanks for your response. Yes, my insurance is through my employer, changing jobs is not an option (just a personal thing). I live in Mass but have no problems getting the surgery done in any state within the U.S, as long as it is most economical. What else info can/should I provide? I apologize, I just started today so still learning about this website which so far seems awesome by the way.

    Hi pals,
I am a 31 yr old male, 340lbs as of today and have diabetes, high blood pressure, and severe sleep apnea. My physician brought up the topic of getting bariatric surgery and how it could be helpful for someone like me. I started doing research on various surgeries, their benefits, complications, and side effects and after much research, I have made up my mind to get a gastric sleeve done. I checked with my insurance today and learned that the surgery will not be covered under my plan, which sucks due to the high costs involved but I think the costs and risks outweigh the benefits over time.
Could you pals help me get started on my journey here? I am looking to get it done sooner than later and since I will be paying out of my pocket, I am looking for some economical options stateside. Please share your experience with me, especially if you have had one done recently and the cost was a consideration in your case too.
    Thank you very much!
    Your pal

    @jess9395 that's what I'm afraid of.
Everyone's feedback has really helped me think about my strategy here. For my first salad, I think I'm going to try iceburg lettuce and concentrate on the whiter, crunchier parts rather than something like romaine, which has more nutrient value but is leafy and harder to digest. I feel like cucumbers would be a safe bet too. Raw carrots and celery might take more time. I'm going to go really slow, but I hope I'll eventually end up back to where I can eat salads with all my favorite fixins (nuts, seeds, veggies galore, etc)... just 1/4 the size and with 1/4 the dressing.
It may sound silly but I feel like it's good to plan and have something to look forward to!
