Hey folks. Thanks for your messages.
After 3.5 hours of walking around and puking it settled enough so I could sleep. It feels fine this morning but I plan to go back to liquids only for a few days as that was so horrid and I can't understand why it happened.
there hasn't been a nasty toilet trip so I'm not sure wtf that was about but definitely don't fancy repeating it.
@cheezeater foamies is when you're either dumping through eating too much, too quickly or something too high in fat/sugar. I think something must have got stuck in my pouch as I was eating low fat/sugar and hadn't eaten much. Your saliva etc has nowhere to go so it all froths up and comes back up in frothy/slimy mouthfuls and makes you vomit. I had loads of upper left quadrant pain. Very unpleasant and gross. Xx

I graduated to soft foods right before Christmas with all the holiday office parties, etc. That was tough, but I was able to find stuff to eat at restaurants. The immediate people sitting around me found out I had the surgery, and it was a nice conversation. When we had a different dinner with a different group - they had a buffet set up with all appetizers. Everyone was standing around with cocktails and grazing on the apps. After a little while, I took a plate of apps I could eat (cheese, hummus, some chicken skewers, olives) - and made that my dinner. When everyone went back to standing around and drinking, I left. I didn't want to sit around and watch everyone eat, and my 30 mins to eat was done.
The hardest part of the big group meals is the timing of when to eat. You can't do the apps, and then wait for dinner when trying to make sure you don't drink anything 30 mins before food, or 30 mins after, and then also not to eat for more than 30 mins.
One major kickoff dinner a few weeks ago was the hardest as they did the buffet style again - but were soooooo slow to go between them. I made the choice to have some caprese as an appetizer because I was starving - as it was an hour and a half past my normal dinner time. Luckily I waited long enough before having some and was able to get some fish and chicken to get some decent Proteins before my 30 mins were up. Again, after that, I just got up and left before Desserts.
The timing of the 30 mins before and after for drinking, and extending meals to 30 mins are what tend to be the bigger limitations for me. The real trouble is, my family will wolf down meals in 10-15 mins and be ready to leave and I am still eating (none of them are even close to having weight issues).

My surgery was on the 16th. And yes I think it’s normal to question. I had a really lousy morning... woke up in a lot of pain today and didn’t feel well... prob
Since i struggled since the day of surgery to get my liquids and Protein in. Today ... I set a schedule and mostly stayed on track. I got in 42 g of protein ( a record for me) and feel so much better than I did this morning! Each day I notice I can get in more liquid and protein. While the guidelines are very important, I feel like my body is healing I have to listen to it. Hang in there and do a little more each day!

Be patient, you'll get there. The home stretch is hard.

Im on week 2 full liquids. These liquid are starting fo repulse me. I know I will have to change my relationship with food but I miss eating. [emoji17]

No regrets, and I agree with what everyone above said. I'm almost 8 months out now, and what you're feeling now will change for the better. Our bodies go through so many changes immediately post op it can really throw things off, but it adjusts, and you get used to the new normal.

what you are going through is normal for many in the early post op period. it is the hormone dump from rapid fat loss and the adjustment to the healing (I remember thinking "OMG am i going to be burping my way through every meal forever?" Now I read posts like yours and go "oh yeah, i forgot about that part". you will feel totally normal in 3-6 months (for me it was 2 months, but i'm a quick healer)...I'm 15 months now, in and if it weren't for:
being amazed every time i look at a picture of myself wondering why i don't get winded anymore, ever wondering how far i need to push myself on the treadmill to get my heart rate into the cardio zone wondering how the hell these size 2 pants fit me, because that makes no sense at all ...i would not remember I had surgery.

You'll never feel the way you use to... And it's kinda the point .
You'll have to exercise longer to feel winded
You'll forget why you used to over eat
You'll finally start peeking on the juniors size side of the store (oops that's me)
You'll start arguing with food labels questioning why so much sugar (seriously why? It's just yogurt)
You'll take way too many selfies from all your new found good angles
You'll forget what being heavy feels like
You may even forget you ever felt any regrets...
