I can see already that you are going to be my go-to person. Your words of advice are going to be of great value to me. I have a little over 3 weeks till my surgery. My bad habits are inhaling my food after two bites and large portions. So, to hear you tell me to start practicing the small bites and thirty chews is just what I need to hear. If you are three weeks post op, then you will be 6-7 weeks ahead of me. I’m going to follow your path. Thank you for helping to pave my way to better health.

Thank you for the kind words. My pre-certification for the surgery was just approved now i believe they have to send in the pre-authorization for surgery and get my date. Fingers crossed it'll be in October so i can join all of you nice people!

Well, i called this morning and prayed while i was on hold. She came back on and read me the letter stating approval. I asked her to email it to me please and then i forwarded it to the surgeon. I'm waiting now to see what happens next. This was the "pre-certification" packet that was approved. I remember them telling me after that approval, they'd have to send in the pre-authorization for surgery with a surgery date. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I'm still waiting for word from my insurance company. It's been 12 days since paperwork was submitted. Waiting and worrying is the hardest thing for me....

Does anyone have BCBS of TX? I'm wondering how long it took to receive your approval. Thanks, Cindy

My predetermination paperwork was faxed to my insurance company last Friday evening, Aug 31st. Please send some good vibes my way that i receive good news soon. I'm trying very hard to be patient. I wish there was a way to check the status of the predetermination online. Has anyone ever received an approval on the predetermination but then denied at preauthorization time? Thanks, Cindy

I'm not quite where you are in the process. What i mean is i haven't been denied yet. I've completed 3 months of my dietitian visits, i've had a sleep study, which i found i do have mild sleep apnea. My BMI is currently 37. I do have osteoarthritis in both knees. My surgeon is requesting a cardio clearance and an EGD since i had my lap-band slip back in '15. He wants to make sure all looks ok. I'm very scared i won't be approved. Every day i wait, i feel more and more sad about the whole process.
