  1. Kandywolf your stats are very similar to mine, I too want a 175 goal, you inspire me to,keep on keeping on. Thank you. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Your story is so very inspiring, maybe it will help someone on the fence to make the commitment to better health for themself. Maybe by commenting it will bring it out and onto Trending. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. @churchlady2 come visit us on the over 50 thread, there's a lot of us wondering if it's too late for a step like this-and it isn't. We deserve a better quality of life just like the young-ins. I'm in Central Ohio and have lived my whole life in a 60 mile radius of here. Will have my RNY at Mount Carmel in Columbus within a few months, requirments getting finished and then on the schedule. I was 72 December 26th so you aren't the oldest on here. You're very welcome to our Bari-family. Hope yours will be good for you. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. My guess and remember, its just a guess is late February/early March cause many offices schedule a month to 6 weeks ahead. I hope I'm wrong and its sooner, you've had a wait already. Good luck whenever it is. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  6. @DRoseman, if you can't find one in NW Ohio I would check maybe Fort Wayne Indiana or Southern Michigan. And I think I saw awhile back someone was having it done in Lima, Findlay and Akron on BP. I'm going to Columbus, although my local hospital has started doing limited Bariatrics they don't do,BMI above 40 and not the RnY I need because of GERD. I know Cincy has good programs and there's one at West Chester that I've heard good things of. How about OSU or University at Cleveland, they might have bariatric clinics at lower rates since they are teaching, hospitals. I'm sure there is an answer to this problem and you're gonna find it. 7. We see football players who've won a championship say they're going to Disneyland or Disney World, when you get back on your feet after your surgery, where would you like to go? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Looks like a lot of you have Valentine week,as your surgery date, would, have liked mine then but I think I'll be more like St Patrick's Day, if they moved forward this coming week that's how far ahead they are booking. Dang it ,I'm an impatient puddycat, feel like I've been waiting forever for this date with destiny. And my BBF (that's Bariatric Friend Forever) has been jerked around even longer, gone from November to,possible March/April, she may moult or be down to pinfeathers before it happens. Not fair to happen to a fine feathered fowl like her.!! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Nope that would be me, red-headed pre rny and 72 on December 26th. 7/8ths completed,on requirements. waiting for surgeon and insurance to to say it's time. Wish now I'd done it younger but I hadn't had my "come to Jesus" moment about living so large, tired and out of breath. Figured I was doomed to die this way but no there is hope for me and I find I want to hang around and watch this crazy world keep turning. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. Didn't see,my score on my apnea paperwork but did see I had an O2 level of 71% once, scary when normal is in the high 90s like 97-98%. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Texas Mommy sounds like you have a good committed surgeon. I see good things ahead for you, let us know when you fulfill your requirements and have a surgery date cause we will all be sending good wishes your way. You're on your way to better health and a longer life with your little ones. God Bless. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Start out walking more around your house, do exercises,if you can't stand very long do them sitting down or look for some mild senior citizen or low impact videos. The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. Commit and you'll become fit, it just takes work and i know you Want to feel Better. Sunny days ahead in your life. 13. Hi gator girl- are you going to be a VSG or RnY? And when,is your surgery day so I can send good thoughts your way? Do you have a good surgeon and,if you like them? I'm still pre surg but love hearing of other journeys on here. Keep us updated on yours, okay? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Tell me about OCD-we have the t-shirts " I have CDO, it's like OCD but everything's in older the way,it should be!" Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Fluffy you are one foul fowl but gotta love you for it. You brighten up the dark corners of my life and like most of us I have a few. Always count on you to see the ironies in this life.[emoji197] Let me tell of my son. The Tomkitten. I was peeved at him for something and. I said "you are an agitator", he said an agitator stirs up the S*** so you can get rid of it. Danged if the boy isn't right, think he might be following in my paw prints. 16. As your fat starts to "melt" all kinds of hormones etc get released so,its very normal. I wonder about all,the pesticides I might have in mind. Americans aren't fit for human consumption cause we are full of DDT and such. I was told, this by a retired cannibal, he was a New Guinea headhunter before he found Jesus, said nobody in his tribe would eat us because we would give them horrid indigestion. Funny what one learns if you live as long as me. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I would start by walking the halls and build up,each day, walk,a little bit longer and farther and soon, you can try up and down a flight of stairs. You won't be walking a,lot but,you will be making a positive effort. I should listen to this advice,i'm giving , it's snowy,in Ohio and I don't relish walking on ice but I could be exercising inside. I know there are some senior citizen exercises on cable, do them when you're ready. You can do it girl, I know you can. And I'm about your size and I have marched in place when nobody can see me. 18. Good luck Janet good things are in store for you- you're making a commitment to your future health. Keep us posted how things go,okay? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. Greetings from snowy Ohio. I feel you're making a good step for your future health, if she couldn't support in this she wasn't the right person to share a future with. I know my late husband would have been the same way, sad isn't it? I'm going thru RnY in a few months and I'm probably old enough to be your grandmother. Shoot there are days I think I could be Methuselah s granny dragging this fat body around but I'm gonna have a good tool to,help me continue on living. Let us all know how your surgery goes you've got a worldwide Bariatric family here and we groove on success. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. You've made a great start for your future health. Take slow smooth and keep making great strides. We're all in this fight together and we learn from each other and the srides we have made. Welcome again. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  22. Hi Emily I'm almost sure you have surgery twins on the January and January/February 2018 sleeve threads, might be good to take note of them and you can share your experiences. At any rate good luck and good healing with your surgery Monday. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  24. Thanks for posting this, I'll want to make sure I'm not sleeved and that open is permissible, my gastroenterologist just switched me to Dexilant from Prilosec, he calls D the Ferrari of GERD medicine. Does seem to be helping and has cut down on my gastritis pain. No more coffee etc but maybe a small, price to pay. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
