greenreader got a reaction from Frustr8 in Inspiration from those who stalled and turned it around?
Hi there. I had my surgery at the end of 2017, and have lost a total of about 75 lbs. I feel like I did well until early October, and have been at a standstill, with lots of bad habits from my earlier life coming back in to play. I definitely am a stress eater, and have changed jobs, I am dealing with some difficult issues with my kids, and my parents are having lots of health issues, so the stress has piled up. A lot of this was out of my control, but making big changes as a new surgery patient was too much for me, but here I am, and I have to deal with it.
I started seeing a therapist, and have anti depression/anxiety meds which have finally seemed to level things out a bit. I think I am at the point where I am looking around and feeling like I have been through a big storm, but I want to get back on track.
I have about 65 lbs. to go to be at goal, and I know I can do it. I just need to forgive myself, and find some inspiration. Any advice or tips? Thanks in advance!

In the past two months I have been able to wear my wedding ring again, I can play more comfortably with my kids on the floor, get much less winded while walking on hills where we live in SF, and have been finding clothes in my closet that haven't fit in a long time! Hooray for NSVs! This is a great thread.

    Hi
I am not in a position to provide any advice or tips, but hopefully someone will chime in soon.
There is also the WLS veterans subforum here where you may get some specific information, it does say 18month plus, but if I recall correctly the vets forum was opened up and you should be able to post.

greenreader reacted to RussT in 250 pounds lost!
I had my sleeve surgery in November 2016. Pre surgery weight was 470. After 2 week pre-op diet I was 440. This week I weighed in at 220 pounds. That's 250 pounds LOST and it's been easy. I am insanely glad that I made the decision to get this surgery. I've heard stories of people who gain weight back after this surgery, and it baffles my mind because even 2+ years later I still get full so quickly. I can't imagine how anyone can eat too much with such a reduced stomach size. I know instantly that I cannot eat anymore once my stomach is full. I know instantly that if I took another bite I would feel physically ill. Anyway, I am beyond happy with my health and the way I look. From a 58 waist to a 36 slim fit in jeans.
    Yay me!

So glad to read these posts and see everyone's progress. I haven't been on the board in a long time, and I am realizing how much I need to talk to and hear from others who are going through this to keep myself in check and be realistic.

Good to know...i thought i had slow progress and i know progress is different for everyone but it makes me feel better that others are in the same ball park with their weight loss progress.

The best part of this is the non scale victories...i am loving the energy level and my skin is clearing up.

    Best of luck to everyone!

greenreader got a reaction from Losebig in Stomach virus two weeks out from Gastric Sleeve surgery
I had my follow up appointment with my surgeon today, and thought I might be reacting to some foods, since I have had issues with my stomach for the past few days. He told me that the kinds of symptoms I was having aren't typically related to the surgery (tight cramping and needing to run to the restroom a lot), and that I need to let it run it's course. He said to be extra careful about dehydration, though and really work on the fluids. I thought I would mention it here since it is flu season, and we need to be extra vigilant after going through the surgery. This sucks.
Other than finding that out (and realizing how bizarre it was to not even know I had a stomach bug), the appointment went well, and he was happy with my healing and progress so far. I was 15 lbs. down as of the surgery. Hoping that number is real, and not an effect of the virus .

Yesterday was 2 wks for me. I'm only down 10 post-op so far. I lost 5 within the first few days, gained back 1, lost 2, then lost 3. I was really discouraged around Day 5/6 when I gained back the 1 - but then Day 7 weigh-in I was down 7. Second week I only lost 3. I definitely thought I would lose more in the first few weeks and then it would slow down to 3-4 lbs/wk and then eventually slow down to 1-2/wk. I feel like I Barely Eat!! But have decided that stressing myself out is pointless as it only raises cortisol, which supposedly causes fat storage or something like that. Not worth it.
Bottom line is I'm down 10 at 2 wks, if I'm down 20 at the end of the first month, that would be pretty freaking awesome!! Plus, it looks like you started close to me? I was 205. They say we will lose a little slower...I am determined to only weigh-in once a week max, and to try Really Hard not to stress myself out over it because they say if you follow the program (post-op diet, etc.) you can't help but lose weight - just some of us at a different pace. Try not to make yourself feel bad - I know it's hard. Good luck

I had my surgery on 12/26, and I'm down 12 lbs. since then. My stomach has been bothering me more the last two days, but I am still trying to get in a walk a day to keep active.

Poking around in my closet last night, I put on my favorite Capri cargo pants from last spring......let go of the waist and they fell right off my butt. Like seriously...didn't even need to tug them...just wiggled a little and they slid off.
I giggled like a loon and called my husband in and showed him.
I remembered they took my measurements when I started at my group. I dug the paperwork out, and got out my measuring tape.
I've lost two inches on my bust.
    One inch on my hips.
    One inch on my neck.
And a whopping SEVEN inches on my waist:)
My cargo Capris were baggy...I was buying an up-size because of my waist. Waist reduced and the rest was already baggy. Off they fell:)
Am love, love, loving getting my waist back:)

What a sweet post @Tealael! One of the things that sabotaged me most in the past was not recognizing my accomplishments, so this is really nice of you.
That is awesome @Creekimp13! I looove when my clothes get too big. My bank account doesn't so much though!
I guess I will humble brag that I've just hit my 11 month mark and lost 130 pounds. My waist has gone from 52" to 33" I went from a size 3x to a L or M.
Thanks for letting me brag, I'm soooo happy!

Mine have not been the same since surgery. I have a very light flow where a liner will do for about one week straight. The first time it happened, I thought, "I could get use to this". The next week, I had a slightly heavier cycle for about 3-5 days. Then that light flow for 2 weeks straight and a regular cycle. I can't wait for things to get back to normal.

I was going to ask this same question. I have PCOS, so I am pretty irregular...every two months kinda irregular. In fact, I couldn’t get an upper GI done because the tech insisted that I could be pregnant. She didn’t understand and had no time to educate her. Definitely wasn’t. My period actually started the day after my surgery...12/15. Now it’s on again. It started yesterday. I think the weight loss is helping get things back on track. Or my body is in shock. I was actually concerned on Thursday. I was confusing menstrual cramps for possible pains due to the surgery.
