Citracal is one of the popular brands and is widely available, as are house brand analogs from Target and others. They are typically 650mg Calcium citrated and 500mg of vit D. Trader Joes has a similar product. It is generally accepted that we can only absorb around 600-650 mg of calcium at a time, hence the need to break it up into multiple doses during the day (and avoid taking it with Iron supplements as they conflict). The pill form is widely available, so one shouldn't need to order and ship them, though the chewable ones are more specialized if you need to use them.

Walmart carries them in EQUATE brand. Be sure to buy the petites. They are smaller. Depending on how far out you are you might need to cut them down too. That is what my Surgeon suggested and I have always used the EQUATES with no problems, My blood work has always been great except my B12. It has always been high. They had me doing the sublingual everyday after my surgery, then it was one time a week Now I use it twice a week in the hair SKIN AND NAILS pills I take.

I second Dr. Mark Pleatman in Bloomfield, Michigan. It was $11,200. I had mine done by him on Dec 29 and I have healed so far ahead of schedule!. He does a lot of procedures per year and the hospital is great. I personally would prefer to be in a US hospital just in case something goes wrong. But yes you can save money by going to Mexico if you need to.

    sublingual (flavoured) Vitamins.
    My B12 is sublingual cherry.
    My Iron is sublingual grape.
My Centrum Multivitamin Men's 50+ is blueberry but not sublingual.
SUBLINGUAL = under the tongue. i.e. stick it in your mouth and it melts under your tongue is 10-25 seconds.
Some brands of sublingual vitamins use the TRADEMARK "Rapimelt". Rapid melting!

Hey Cathy! I didn't know there were powder Vitamins lol but the ones that's I have are Bariatric Advantage brand, I haven't started them yet though until next week. And during Ur purée stage is a time to get creative, u can get cans a low fat refried Beans put come cheese on it for extra Protein, u can make tuna or egg salad blended up creamy texture. That's what I plan on doing.

    Hi!
I saw Dr. Mark Pleatman in Bloomfield, Michigan. It was $11,200. That includes everything including 2 years follow up and a night in the hospital. Look him up! He has a website! I had mine 3 weeks ago and he’s great!

So yeah, about cheating while recuperating...I think I will not do again. Oh my gosh! Let me share what I been going through. So I am only on day 7 post op. Gas and pain under left rib is horrible...every time I drink anything I have to make myself burp as its going down. Last night I made my son his favorite meal for his birthday, I thought since I am on solid liquids now I could put a bit in blender and eat it. NEVER AGAIN!
See folks, doctors give us specific guidelines for a reason. To go around this rules, there is a consequence to pay. I realized this last night. I will not do this again because the outcome of me eating what not supposed to and the harm I could have done to myself, is not worth the risk of leakage and getting an infection. So I will stick to the nasty Protein Shakes and Water. I made a choice to get healthy by getting this surgery and I promised to commit to the rules. I am in pain because of breaking the rules. 😣😣😣

I’m at puréed stage and Water goes down fine for me. The food - just depends on what it is. Yogurt goes down way easier than Beans or something heavy. You’ll know if you eat too much or too fast. It’ll come right back up! That’s what I’m working with now.

My guide says 2oz Protein and 2 oz veggies, so 4 oz at a sitting. I ate 3/4 of a cup of Soup today and it took about 45 mins to eat it. Takes about that long for me to eat a jar of baby food. Any faster and I get pain. I found a way to eat so little with each bite that I can constantly eat without any pain, which is less frustrating.
I say if you can guzzle Water with no pain, guzzle it. I cannot. I feel like each week I can take one more swallow at a time without pain, but I can only take about 3 sips at a time now.

It seems to vary depending on how much you weigh and how much you lost pre-surgery. I started my pre-op diet at 240. I was 219 the day of surgery. Now, one month later, I am bouncing between 206, 207, and 208. So I've lost around 12 lbs in the first month. I imagine that it is more than some, less than others.
Are you hitting Protein and Water targets?

Dec. 26th sleeved as well. I came home with quite a bit of stomach pain. I believe partially to a bit of coughing, and laughing. Laughter is the best medicine with the exception of having your abdomen worked on. I have been given the go ahead to eat from the stage 2 menu options, Protein Shakes, 1/4 of rice or cream of wheat. I was given the green light for my meds and so far 3 tablespoons of food is what I can get down. Water intake has been slow as well.
