Lol I think we’ll all find that no one has a completely junk free food diary!

It's National Donut Day
The struggle is real! It was very sweet of your coworkers to help by hiding temptations from you. Kudos to them for real! My trick to keep from eating tempting food is a mind trick. I picture that they fell of the floor of a dirty gas station bathroom or someone open mouth sneezed all over them. That flies and roaches had been crawling all over them before they arrived to the break room table. Congrats on your 100 pound loss - that’s awesome!

Gas and bloating 3 weeks PO
It's unflavored, has a slight taste to it but not bad: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001I1NSUY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So I was thinking how there are a number of us that use MFP to log our food and wondered if it would be a good idea to become friends on there for added accountability, support or ideas of what one another is eating for meals. So I'm opening up this thread to share those MFP account usernames to find each other on that app. If anyone is interested in friending me there, my username is ljthon2014 . Just please send me a message with the friend request with your BariatricPal name so I have an idea of who you are! Disclaimer: I'm not always great about logging my food but trying to get better. Also, I don't have a "perfect" diet. If you follow me you'll see I occasionally indulge in some foods a lot of people feel I shouldn't be.
-
How long did you keep logging meals?
I think its arguably more important to log your meals the further out from surgery you are. As my sleeve can accommodate more food and my hunger has returned its just too easy to be noncompliant with your eating plan if you aren't keeping a close eye on your calories and macros.

It's National Donut Day
When my BFF was getting married and stressed about the wedding planning I would pick her up late at night, we’d drive through Krispy Kreme and pick up a dozen hot donuts and milk and drive around while she would vent. Fond memories but I haven’t tried a Kk donut since. I’ll just settle for the memories.

Last meal!
My husband and I went out to a nice dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse where they bring the different cuts of meat around to the tables on huge skewers. Its an expensive meal but if you can afford it I highly recommend it.

Just had surgery monday but feel normal
Well I hope you're eating as though something changed. Are you following the diet prescribed by your surgeon? If you're chugging soda and eating cheeseburgers, then yes - you're doing something wrong.

Gas and bloating 3 weeks PO
Lactose intolerance can develop and I started to get bad gas, chewable Lactaid helps. You could also try probiotics. Protein powder! Add it to everything, even the protein shakes and yogurts. I'd throw it in my pureed food like hummus and refried beans.

Pre-Op RNY - No NSAIDS for one week
CBC oil? It takes a couple days of dosing to notice a difference though so it may not help right away but could keep the pain manageable post op as well.

Forbidden Foods
Bread does the same to me. Corn chips aren't a slider food for but other potato chips are. Lucky for me because corn chips are my favorite and I can have a few but not down a whole basket. Popcorn is a slider and I will occasionally go nuts on air popped. Greasy fried foods are awful. I can have a couple french fries but some items hold too much grease and my stomach doesn't like it.

Crunchy salty snacks
Ooh! I like making those in the oven! Quarter slices of sharp cheddar or pepper jack and bake them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper! I like mine cooked at a higher temp to make them nice and crispy and my daughter likes them slightly chewier at lower temps. Sharp cheddar tastes like Cheese iTs!!

Anyone else get sick drinking this?
Yikes. Corn syrup and sugar listed as ingredients #2 and #4... the high sugar content could definitely be to blame! I’d look around for some lower sugar choices. I personally prefer Premier Protein. I’ve also ordered the Syntrex Nectar variety pack from the Bariatric Pal store and they were pretty tasty IMO.

Help
I thought there was no guarantee you'd dump with RNY? That seems like a weird reason to choose it. There are more complications with bypass and it's malabsorption component. I choose sleeve for that reason. Both surgeries are a TOOL and your long term success depends on the lifestyle choices you make in the years afterward.

Oced Tea???
I love iced tea! I'm not a southern belle so I never drank it sweet. I usually buy bags and make my own at home. My husband and I prefer Tetley. We just pop 2 or 3 bags in the 4 cups of water and microwave it for 5 minutes and then add it to a pitcher of ice!

Weight gain. Healthy snacks needed
Quest bars are my saving grace in the afternoon. They are sweet and pack in 20gm of protein and 15gm of fiber. Going to the gym is great but remember you can't out exercise a bad diet. Focus on your food choices.

Newbie Adjusting To Post Sleeve Life
Congrats on your 40 pound weight loss so far! Thats one of the best results I've seen on the forum in one month, so I'd say you are right on track if not a super loser! There is a chart out there that can tell you what to expect based on your starting weight. However - don't measure your success using someone else's ruler! Your journey is your own. I'm 10 months out and hopefully wrapping up my honeymoon period now, I've actually upped my calorie intake on my surgeon's request because he doesn't want my BMI to get lower than 20. My hunger returned almost 6 months to the day of my surgery. Until then I followed my surgeon's plan and ate near perfectly as I could to maximize my weight loss during that time - high protein, lots of veggies, no sugars or complex carbs. When the hunger came back it came back like a monster and I took a mild appetite suppressant to keep myself from grazing. I only needed it for about 2 months before the hunger monster died down (or I just got used to it?) But those diet pills were a saving grace! See you around the forum!

I think you meant to post a picture or link but it didn't go through. What was it?

Food getting stuck
That will get easier but is still a potential problem far out. I had it happen myself last night and I'm 10 months out. Just got too excited about my food and ate it too fast.

Crunchy salty snacks
Quest also makes protein chips, you can find them by the other protein shake and bar products at the grocery, but they are pricy!

Crunchy salty snacks
I like to make zucchini chips in the air fryer

Yogurt brand?
Oikios Triple Zero is good with 15g protein, 6g of fiber and 7g of naturally occurring sugar. Its 120 calories I also like Two Good, it has 12g protein and only 3g carbs. Its 80 calories and I'll add some protein powder and benefiber to it.
