  1. Wow Laughing Bird - way to go!! My surgery was June 4 too. I’ve lost 64 pounds. Doing great. Feel great. Pleased with my progress and still losing about a pound a week. Yea!
  2. I hope to give you a bit of encouragement here. I experienced the same thing and was very disappointed, thinking my big investment and journey wasn’t going to work with me. The stalls so early on were frustrating and I was doing everything right too. Well guess what? That passed and now I’m losing a pound about every 3-5 days, just doing the same thing. Protein first, keeping calories and carbs low. Slow and steady - It’s working now! My surgery was June 4 and I’ve lost 38 pounds since my high weight, 26 pounds since surgery. Hang in there and keep doing it. Also google and read up on the “whoosh effect”.
  3. I was getting disappointed by my slow weight loss, but finally the scale is moving slow and steady. Surgery on 6/4. Have lost a total of 20 pounds since surgery and a total of 30 pounds since the start of the pre-op diet. I decided to be happy about this! I’m staying around 800 calories per day. My doctor is pleased with my progress, but said to focus on the protein first and not so much the calories.
  4. My current stats Surgery June 4 (5 weeks) HW 272 SW 258 CW 243 GW 170 Disappointed in the pace of my weight loss progress although my clothes are loose and I feel great. Just thought the first few months would be more dramatic. I’ve had several stalls. I’m keeping up my daily protein intake ~80 grams/day and staying at ~800 calories per day too. Tracking everything on My Fitness Pal. Walking several times a week, but not daily. Getting 8 hours sleep too. I guess it’s going to be slow for me, but I’m committed for the journey.
  5. Okay what is the freaking deal? Sleeve 6/4 - this is almost 4 weeks ago. Only lost 13 pounds, but zero pounds in the last 2 weeks. I’m tracking everything and staying the course and doing everything right with 800 calories/day but this is hugely disappointing! I feel great physically. Small portions, no significant hunger or cravings - at least that’s working - but this is not what I signed up for! Someone please tell me this is going to work eventually because right now I feel like it has been a huge waste of time and money.
  6. Sleeve on June 4. Only lost 13 pounds since then. Only 1 pound in the last 9 days. Walking 1.5 miles. Protein 70-80 g day. 800 calories/day. Hydration 60 oz. Really really disappointed! WTH am I doing wrong?!!
  7. I had a stall for a few days at the 2 week mark. I upped my fluid intake and started losing again.
  8. I swear by the blue G2 Gatorade. I just add a little to my big huge glass of water. Maybe 3 parts water, 1 part blue G2. It helps me drink more fluids. I think that slight light blue color might be a factor. It makes it look more pleasing like cool spring water? I dunno. The slight flavor added gives it a fresh tasting flavor. It’s working for me and helps me drink more water
  9. I now add some decaf coffee in small amount to my Premier protein - with ice in a glass. It’s really good. With vanilla it tastes like a cappuccino. With chocolate it’s a mocha. Try it!
  10. I’m one week post op. (June 4). I’m sipping flavored water alternating with protein drink all day. I have small amts yogurt, SF jello and SF popsicles. I know I’m not getting enough protein and hydration. I’m having no nausea and tolerating everything well and have lost about 6 pounds since date of surgery. BUT I’M HUNGRY??!! I thought the sleeve would kick out my hunger - when does it start?!!
  11. I have ‘found’ my beverage of choice to get in my water/hydration quota. A big 16 oz glass - add some ice, about 4 oz blue G2 Gatorade and then fill with water. Slightly light blue in color and a slight berry flavor. It’s working for me. I can’t drink plain water.
  12. I’m on Day #2 post op. Came home yesterday. Sipping water and protein drink. No nausea. Walking a little on my block 2 times today. Taking 5 ml liquid OxyContin for pain. My surgical abdominal pain makes it hard to get up and down. I can’t get out of bed by myself at all. My abdominal muscles just aren’t working at all. Surgical gas in my chest improving. All in all, I’m doing as well as I expected so far.
  13. I'm having surgery tomorrow! I "cheated" on my pre-op diet by having a hard boiled egg every day in addition to protein shakes and the other liquids. I also had a bite here and there of chicken or a couple shrimp from the meals prepared for the rest of the family. My 'cheating' consisted of protein bites, that's it. I don't feel guilty lol - but my family sure act like the police around here. "Hey you're not supposed to have that!" Geesh. Did not cheat on anything else. Had absolutely no sugar, soda, etc. I think I did pretty good. Have lost 8 pounds.
  14. June 4th is only two days away..yikes!! Good luck to everyone - I know there’s a bunch of us having the same date. “May the 4th be with you!” (Sorry I couldn’t resist)
  15. As for nausea, my doctor ordered a scopolamine patch. I’m supposed to put it on behind my ear the night before surgery. I also filled a bunch of prescriptions that I’m supposed to have at home for after the surgery - meds for nausea, constipation, etc. all in liquids or crushable form for post surgery.
