Try counting your macro nutrients (not just calories) and drink tons of Water. Get in the habit of working out at least 3x per week. Start at whatever level you're comfortable with. You can also try a pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks. But whatever you do eat, make sure it's Protein rich, very low carbs and 5g of sugar or less. It sounds like you're on track though, the more you stress, the more the pounds stay where they are so also try things to clear your head and make you feel better mentally.

Aww thank you. That's really sweet. I'll gladly share any and all information with you. You can ask me anything or even send me a private message if that help. I know all of my tips may not work for everyone, we can always bounce ideas off each other.

No you won't get denied, insurance companies actually like to see you losing weight prior to surgery, it shows that you are taking this seriously.

6 months is just a requirement some insurance companies have, some do not. But the additional diet courses are well worth it. At the end of the day it's extra knowledge and knowledge is always power.

Hi Pam! Welcome to the boards. I paid $59.99 on Amazon and the app is free. I believe it was the least expensive Bluetooth + automatic app tracking option I could find. It’s great.

Can I just confess to y'all?
I'm so thrilled for each one of you and proud of your losses and how you're healing!!! ((hugs))
Every time someone announces they are approved or have a date, I get this knot in my throat/chest as I'm happy for them. I also am a little green with envy. This was also supposed to be MY time. You know? Now I'm in limbo again for the next 3 months wondering if my insurance is going to find a way to exclude me from surgery. So instead of the holidays being laid back and easy...I'm sad and stressed. I know time is what we make of it. I'm just having trouble the last couple of weeks processing the disappointment and choosing to have a positive outlook. I know I'll get there...it just sucks while you're processing.
There...they say confession is good for the soul?

I love my greater goods scale I bought off Amazon. It tracks weight, BMI, muscle mass, bone density, body fat, and Water content. It’s Bluetooth connected so it automatically logs in my app. Obviously the BMI, muscle mass, etc might not be 100% accurate but I enjoy it because even though my weight loss has really reallllly slowed, I’ve put on significant muscle mass.

I also measure myself occasionally since I find that to be a better way to tell how my body has changed.

NSV: so i randomly went jean shopping and the size 4 actually fit, and really fit. I thought i was going to have to squeeze into them for dear life lol. I've been fat my whole life so this is new to me. The fact that i'm actually a small still blows my mind, but yet the scale still says im overweight smh. I'm still going to view this as a victory.

Myfitnesspal. I'm old school. It tracks food. Graph shows your progress. Helps meet and see if you hit your calorie and macronutrient goals (protien etc) Tracks your exercise including syncing fitbit, map my run or map my walk...I'm sure their are more, It will graph for the week or month of meeting your calories and macros.
You can leave your food log open for others to see, Or keep it private ( I keep mine open.)
At the end of the day you submit and it tells you if everyday was like today you would weigh (calculates what you would weigh based on your food and exercise) gives me motivation to stay on track.
It also has a forum for many categories bariatrics, vegan, Keto, fitness weightlifting etc. you can friend and message.....They are amazing people that are motivated inspiring, and positive.

Pamela wallace reacted to Amyllf2 in Reality Check- I hate my new body
****warning- this is not a warm and fuzzy post******
I am just shy of 11 months post op. I am down 92 pounds from surgery, 105 from my first appointment. I have been between 152 and 157 for the past 2 months now. This is where it seems I will end up. I went from a 22 pant to size 10. A 2x shirt to a M. I even dropped a shoe size. I was able to drop a good portion of my heart medicine and I no longer feel like I'm going to die walking upstairs. A year ago I would never have been able to walk around campus like I do now. (I'm a college lecturer at a large university) All should be good, but in reality, I hate my new body.
I don't think I'm alone. I think this is one of those "dirty little secrets" many in the WLS community feel but maybe don't verbalize. While I am thankful my health has improved, the mirror has become even more of an enemy. I didn't have wrinkles before, because my face was full. I had boobs, because as we know they are mainly fat. My legs were big but I still wore shorts, something I won't be doing this spring and summer. I had an ass, one that didn't sag and one that protected my tailbone that is now permanently bruised and inhibits sleeping on my back.
I know this a negative post and I don't mean to be such a "debbie downer" about this experience. But I think it's important to talk about the tough stuff. The reality of what it might feel like a year out for many people. It's not all "kum by yah" and being thinner does not solve all of our whoas. I miss my boobs. I hate plopping my saggy skin into a sports bra and positioning it to resemble boobs. I hate the fact that the skin on my legs hangs over my knees. I hate the wrinkles on my face and the skin under my chin. I hide my body from my husband more than I did before. I don't smile when I look in the mirror like I assumed I would. Maybe someone warned me about these things- but I must not have listened because I was not prepared for how I currently feel.
Was the surgery worth it? Yes because my health is still the priority. But this reality, well my friends, it sucks.
