Keira Fae got a reaction from FluffyChix in over a year out
I had my surgery jan 22 2018, I am about to be 13 months out. (34year old, 5'7)
What a journey. Started at 402lbs, a weight I now can't believe I had. it's crazy and unreal. My skin DOES reminds me that "hey you had that weight" but I am trying to have less floppy skin I wish I worked on it before but it's fine. And maybe tmi but also working on my breasts so they are less in a sad shape.
I don't necessarily eat well and I probably eat less that I am supposed to but I am proud.
13 months ago i was at 323.4lbs, today I am at 187.8, sometimes i gained 1-4lbs, then i lose it back and lose some more. I only really had one plateau that lasted a month, i had some plateau that lasted a week or even two but after weight somewhat catched up, losing in general from 6lbs to 10-12lbs per month, I still got a few to lose to not be in "bmi overweight" but i am no longer in obesity. I am focusing more on my skin then my weight loss.
I wouldn't say surgery changed my life, but yes it improved it. I sometime see myself bigger then I actually am. I am still afraid to sit in booth thinking I won't fit... yet i fit with space to go. my shirt size went from like 3x to M or L.

Keira Fae got a reaction from Orchids&Dragons in Weight stalled third week post op
i haven't lost much since surgery compared to others around my weight, I am 3 months out went from 323.4 to 286.4 (37lbs)
I stall very often but I do find that I lose more inches when i stall vs when I do shed the pounds. As long as you keep it with the plan you will lose weight.

Keira Fae got a reaction from audaciousmarie in Pre-Op Diet
my pre-op was supposed to be 4 weeks due to my high BMI, after they added 5 more weeks due to a technical issue. The last 5 weeks I could have a semi-regular diet but had to limit sugar and fat.
I lost a good amount of weight on my 4 first week but when I went to a "regular" diet I was on a stall. But from switching to only liquid and back to food and not gaining weight I think I had good success
I hope it doesn't happen to a lot of people because trust me that was a LONG 9 weeks.

Keira Fae got a reaction from FluffyChix in Weight percentage question
oh wow no it's me who didn't write "60% of excess weight" it's what I meant lol!
but then again since I have such a high weight it would be plausible for me 180-200lbs ...

Keira Fae reacted to kandywolf in A weekend of amazement!
I was talking to a friend and explaining why I cant get to the gym. He said what about we go together? (i dont drive) and so Saturday night was the first time I walked into a gym to work out. So he showed me how to set up the treadmill. I was on it for an entire 30 minutes! I started slow on 1. I was up to 2.3 and walked 2 mile. I really can not do alot with upper body because of weight limit as per my dr. So i did the stationary bike for 10 minutes. Lol little accomplishments that mean so much! Oh and I dont hurt at all today, gotta ip my game.

Keira Fae got a reaction from Sonyawon in Favorite things you can do now that you couldn't before, or things you're looking forward to doing?
I have so many things I would love to do,
but as a total geek I will say : a nice cosplay.
I do not allow myself to do any cosplay at the moment because I think it looks horrible.... I am very self conscious and it's the kind of thing that irks me.
I want to travel, not be shy to wear a bathing suit, cute knee high boots, pretty corsets.
I hate plus size fashion soooo much, I keep looking like an aunt....

Keira Fae got a reaction from N.Lyshay in Waiting is the worst part
I understand the torture of waiting. I waited 3 years before I could see a doctor and 2 years after to get surgery.
It was a relief to start the liquid diet even if mine was longer then the usual (4 weeks) and had an extra 5 week due to some problems they had on my first appointed day. those 9 weeks were long. ... 9 weeks of hell.
At least after surgery my surgeon make us only do 4 days of liquid, after it's mashed and pretty quickly semi-solid
It really feels like your life is on hold.
Good luck!

Keira Fae reacted to DaleCruse in Year out and eating anything
What you're experiencing is very common. I experienced it too.
Here's the way I think about it: First you were probably on a liquid diet. Second, you had surgery. Third, you lost weight quickly. All these stages are temporary. Now you've reached the fourth stage, which in my opinion is permanent. It's the maintenance phase. What happens now is much less dramatic. Now it's no longer about the sleeve doing the work. Now it's about YOU doing the work. This is the phase all other phases have been building up to. This is where the real day to day work happens.
As far as I know, we all go through these same stages. Welcome to the other side. You are not alone here. Good luck.

Keira Fae got a reaction from regainingmytime in Any January 2018 Sleevers?
My doctor give 6 weeks off and I will take them all. I guess it's one of the little perks that being a canadian can give me, 60% pay for 6 week while i take care of my food and everything. If my work was really in trouble I would come back earlier but right now I want to enjoy and make a stable life change. mine is on 22/01 if they don't push it back ...... again

Keira Fae got a reaction from mrodz63 in Buddies Group - Surgery Dec 4 to 15, 2017
Whoa! you guys hardly got any time off after surgery!
I will have at least 6 weeks off, they were giving a month before but they had best result when patients had another 2 week to adjust.

Keira Fae got a reaction from chall08 in Any January 2018 Sleevers?
I am unfortunately joining you lot for jan sleeve.
My surgery was for dec 18 but I got called on dec 17 to say it was cancelled (after 4 long liquid only weeks...)
So I got moved to... jan 22nd. Another 5 week to be really strict but no more liquid diet,
So in total I will have 9 pre-op diet week. On a positive note I am loosing weight. presently lost 22lbs since nov 20th.

Keira Fae got a reaction from Little Green in Tips on getting through Pre-Op Liquids
I have been on my pre-op liquid only diet for now 24 days (my surgeon is asking for 4 weeks because my BMI is over 50...). For me the first day was hard because I hated the taste but I got used to it by the second day.
I remind myself it is for a safe surgery and it is for my health. I took some broth on day 1 & 2 just so I could take all the shakes.
It's not easy, but it is also a preparation for our future life after surgery. I won't lie, I had MANY cravings but I stayed stubborn on not cheating and instead I was telling my SO my craving (that somehow triggered him more then me...). I kept a journal, that I will continue in post-op for my food in take but I write how I feel and so on and it does help.
If you have a craving try to change your mind, do something else and worst case scenario sleep it off. Better have more sleep then not following your surgeon plan.
Best of luck!

Keira Fae got a reaction from FluffyChix in I need some help, and answers.
At your age, you really need to talk to your doctor and see what they doctor will suggest for you.
We cannot give you any advise as you are still growing and going on diet as a teen is not suggested.
Surgery is normally reserved for those who tried to lose weight multiple time but regained what they lost.
But keeping a food journal doesn't hurt and you could show it to your doctor so they can help you go on the right track. It also help to realize and sometime stop yourself of eating something you shouldn't (If you watch secret eater you will see what I mean the participant says they do know know why they are gaining weight and the show watch all of their habit to reveal how much they actually eat )
