I’m post op day 5 and still having gas and burps. It’s completely normal per my doctor. I wish I could lie on my side, but my staples hurt when I do that. I was told to sip 1-2 oz every hour the first two days after surgery, but all programs are different. broth and Powerade Zero worked well for me. Walk as much as you can tolerate to move the gas around and get those burps and hiccups out! I do laps around my lower level every hour.

I was sleeved the same day. My plan tells me to drink 1-2 oz an hr of sugar free liquids. My daily requirement is 32 oz. I can also have hot Cereal, Jello, cream of Soups, and popsicles. I also need to sip on 1 Protein Shake through the day. My pain is so much better but I’m still swollen as well. My staples and stitches come out December 6. I was told it would be 6 weeks until I was completely pain/soreness free. I’m also still taking a blood thinner (required), pain med x 2 a day, and an acid reducer.
i haven’t been able to finish any of my “meals” and I was told that normal and to listen to my tummy Good luck, you got this!
