  1. I too was revised to RNY for GERD issues. But also trauma regain. I eventually went back to using food to cope with much trauma from 2019-2021. I was eating like a “normie” clearing restaurant sized portions like I’d never even had the sleeve. It was pathetic. But during my revision I also had a hernia fixed I never knew about so lots of good is coming out of this journey. One big rule for me: If you wouldn’t want to put it in your MyFitnessPal, don’t eat it. After about 8 months post sleeve I stopped tracking and my food intake started getting less and less bariatric friendly.
  2. Fit in to my boots that are normal calf width! They have been gathering dust since 2019 😬

    Food Before and After Photos

So I never post on here because my meals thus far have been like a cooked veggie pattie, protein shake, pieces of fish or deli meat etc that never look appetizing. But this meal I was like, “yeah, this qualifies” 🤣 And I ate every bite 🥰

    Food intolerance after wls

I had a revision and the thing I find most interesting is the food I had probably 4 nights a week post sleeve, can’t tolerate it and don’t like it anymore—tilapia! I had a go to way of cooking and spicing it and looking at it now makes me want to be sick 🤢 I’m actually getting more protein from vegan sources and I’ve never had the desire to be vegan…just what my body can tolerate now.
  5. Bent down to tie my shoes and didn’t have to move my boobs or stomach out of the way first 👍

    Eating disorder

Could add a daily calorie enhanced drink to your meal plan. Ensure is higher calorie. Doesn’t require increase in portion for that at least.

I noticed more pain post bypass. Probably part due to the opiate crisis and the docs not prescribing opiates for pain control where I live. Also part due to the hernia repair that was not anticipated by the surgeon or myself! I might ask the person you consult with if damage to the esophagus is permanent or reversible. I’m praying my damage resolved itself now that acid isn’t flushing up there every time I eat. I will say there’s a lot of comments about revisions losing slower and I’m happily surprised to be down 50lbs since 5/6/22 ✌️ I strongly considered the advice from the surgeon I consulted with. So if they say sleeve will get you the results you want, consider that. Same for bypass if they say that!

    2 Months Post Op Food

On days where I’m tired of the food my stomach can tolerate, I just bake some squash and okra with some spices and have 1/4 cup as a meal. I’ve tried a lot of protein sources at 12 weeks out that aren’t working well so in order to not die of boredom, I’ve had squash for dinner probably 2 nights in the last month 🤷🏼‍♀️ dietician approved and all 🥳

    Mini-cheat 5 days post op

They tell us in our seminar a few specific horror stories of people that didn’t mind the post op diet and splurged a little… and unfortunately died because they popped their staples/tore their stomach. Not worth your life my friend. I would be educating my family on how serious this is for you. Maybe they can be be a little more courteous about their meal prep. But really as said, it isn’t their responsibility. I wouldn’t want to see you in the hospital or worse all for a silly tater tot 😬

Yes, sleeve to bypass here as well. I too developed severe GERD with no previous history of it and when in my surgery the doc said he found severe erosion and a hernia. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wish I would have just went bypass too.

    Post Op Coffee

My support group said it was likely the sugar content. Because my derpy self didn’t think they made a sugar free and they do 🤦‍♀️ I am scarred for awhile though.
  12. It’s not really meal prepping in my mind since I can only eat the meat, but I made a little less than a pound of lean ground beef with a taco seasoning packet and I’ve been eating that for the week with fat free shredded cheese. If you are farther out you could do a wrap, taco, veggies, sour cream, etc. Also you might like the muffin tin recipes on Pinterest. You can search bariatric muffin tin recipes and a lot will come up. A lot are made with wonton wrappers and the “guts” can be Italian, Mexican, breakfast, etc. I like taco cups, meatloaf cups, and lasagna cups best

Trying to get out of my head....

It’s like we share a brain, I swear. I went over 600 calories yesterday and the mental beat down I gave myself was horrible. Even though I burned 400 calories with exercise that same day. 🤦‍♀️ I had the sleeve first in 2017 and truthfully should have been diagnosed with some sort of restrictive eating disorder. I’m trying to be better about it this time with my revision but old habits have emerged. My nutritionist says calories for the day are not important, that I need to only stay around 60g protein, under 35 carb, and under 30 fat amounts. I am trying to get on board with her way of thinking. I personally benefit from a therapist because my issue is with control because of trauma background. Not a Bariatric therapist, just A therapist. Because it’s not about the food. It’s about my control and fear issues. I am practicing intuitive eating, but I don’t know if it would help you since I think you’ve said you feel hunger quite often. I don’t, so eating when I feel hungry has helped me since my body doesn’t usually talk to me unless it needs something 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ve also spoke with my team’s psychologist a few times. If your team has one that could work. Wish I could be more help. But I’m afraid all I’ve offered is a “you are NOT alone” vibe.

    Getting closer… timeline question

My last pre op appointment was 4/18 I think. Surgery 5/6.
  15. I’m just starting my revision journey and I’m off my sleep and depression meds. -40lbs so far. I still have social anxiety and a scrip for that. I think seeing I have what it takes to get healthier (again) has changed my mindset. I still have down days, but I’m very pleased a daily med is not necessary anymore. Moving my body definitely gives me the endorphins I need to keep motivated. I find my joy in other things now. Thankfully things that don’t involve the couch or fridge. 😌 Although I agree with above poster, meds can be necessary and it’s no shame if they are!

    May 2022 surgery?

I have to chase the cherry with Gatorade too, neither taste good!

    May 2022 surgery?

How are all the early May surgery folks doing? I was 5/6 and down 30lbs. Maybe more but it’s my cycle week so I’m off the scale for fear I’ll throw it at the wall if I see the result 🤣 How we feeling? Getting close to cleared for weight lifting and harder exercises? My workout clearance appt is 6/27 🥳

    May 2022 surgery?

I feel much better in week 5. About to start week 6 and I’m hopeful. My blood pressure ran 80s over 40s for weeks post op and it was fine. Hopefully your blood pressure finds it’s happy place soon!
  19. Recliner is easier. I’m still using mine since I can’t lift it back to its Original home downstairs yet (15lb weight limit). I couldn’t get out of bed comfortably until this week. I’m 5 weeks post op.
  20. I was sleeved at 27. Now I’m 31 and just did the revision to bypass 👋

    Protein HELP

I like the Fairlife shakes just as they are, but if the texture or aftertaste bother you, can water it down. And get more liquid oz in that way too 😆 I put a lot of ice in mine so i get 16-17 oz instead of 11-14. I also prefer the core power version of Fairlife for the strawberry banana flavor, but I’m told the sugar isn’t ideal. 6g sugar for 26g protein is ok in my plan personally. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  22. I think a large majority of this forum doesn’t use drugs post op. Because it’s a little ridiculous to do a life saving thing just to risk your life and all that . But I hope those that partake do see this thread so you can get some answers besides “hey don’t do it.” 👍

Found these AMAZING high protein soups

This could be a good option for me for my soup cravings. Dad made homemade butternut squash soup and I did the macros and I told him I loved it but could only taste test the spice for him—all carbs and not much else 🙄 I don’t have that unflavored protein powder so couldn’t go that route with it. But I adore soup no matter the season 🤣

    VSG and constipation

Team miralax here, one cap a day. Usually after work so I can go in the morning the next day. If I still feel a lot of bloating or gas on the left side I’ll do milk of magnesia, but that stuff makes me gag so bad.

    Sleeping Upright Post Op

Week 5 post op and last night was the first night I slept on my side and it was glorious. I didn’t sleep upright for GERD, it was the only way I could sleep without pain until last night
