  1. I'm trying to find the three other people scheduled for December 19th at Bariatricpal MX in Tijuana. They told me the valet will take a group of us around Tijuana and to the beach and stuff. I was wanting to get an idea of what we can/want to see.
  2. Thank you everyone for the honest feedback. All points make sense to me. I do understand not discussing medical conditions and procedures. I'm just so excited about it I can't keep quiet.
  3. I've seen so many people posting about not telling anyone about their surgery or being mad if someone finds out. I'm just curious why you don't want people to know? I've told basically everyone in my life. It's a huge deal to me. I'm excited about it and don't want to hide it. I'm not judging. Everyone is different, I'm just curious.
  4. I know there are a couple of online places, not sure of names. Have you thought about researching Mexico? It is so much cheaper! It's just as safe. They just don't have all the insurance and tax requirements as we do so they can charge less. I'm going to Bariatricpal MX in December all in it's $5100. Good luck to you. I'm sorry your mom is not supportive.
  5. I have wondered about that. I don't want to have a drain, but as a RN I understand the need.
  6. I'm interested, but my surgery is not until December 19th.
  7. I'm sorry you had such a hard time. I hope you're feeling better now.
  8. I can remember my friend saying that about eggs when he could have one too. Haha. Good thing I already like eggs. Thank you for the honest advice.
  9. As my surgery is quickly approaching (Dec 19th yay!) I'm wondering what is the one thing you know now that you wish you would have known before surgery?
  10. My surgery is on Tuesday. I'm thinking I'll return to work the following Wednesday. I work in an office setting. I walk from my office to the printer about 30 times a day. Does this sound reasonable?
  11. Are the patches just a multivitamin or do they have all we need like calcium, vitamin D, B12 and iron as well? Where do you get the patches?
  12. My surgery is scheduled for Dec 19 at Bariatric Pal MX in Tijuana. I have never been to Mexico so I'm excited for the travel as well as the surgery. I'm going alone so I opted to stay the extra night for the extra day of healing before traveling. I'm wondering if it is likely I will feel up to sight seeing or not? My hotel is a 10 minute DRIVE from the ocean and I won't have a vehicle. That leaves me to think seeing the ocean is out. I'm bummed about that because I live in Iowa, farmland central. Those who went to Bariatric Pal, did you feel up to seeing anything outside the hospital/hotel and how did you get there?
  13. I'm actually a little worried about that. I'm flying basic economy on United Airlines. I imagine that will mean a small seat. I am preparing to be uncomfortable and most likely embarrassed.
  14. I live in Iowa. I am scheduled for surgery in December in Mexico. I have gotten an email with all the travel arrangement instructions. It's pretty specific so that's not an issue. I'm just overwhelmed by it all. I have only ever been on an airplane one time and I was 5 years old. This is just a lot of responsibility I guess. My husband is NOT supportive so I am going through this alone. It's a lot to take on alone plus all the life changes. Ugh. It's all happening so fast and it's kind of freaking me out. I really want this, I'm not backing out. I guess I just needed to vent. Anyone else have these kinds of feelings?
  15. I have paid my deposit and scheduled my surgery for December 19th. I am super nervous. I may end up having to push my date back. I was just wondering if anybody else has had to reschedule their surgery once they had their date?
  16. I am December 19th as well! Where are you going? I am going to Dr Illan in Tijuana. I am so nervous! I've actually thought about pushing my date back a bit.
  17. I am having surgery with Dr Illan December 19th. Are you nervous? I wan't at all until I got my actual date. Now I'm freaking out a little.
  18. I have paid my deposit and scheduled my surgery. I am self pay, so this is a big deal to me. I will be using almost all of my savings for this. Worth every penny! My questions is for those of you who have gone to Mexico. Has anyone had to reschedule their surgery once they chose an initial date?
  19. I don't have any advice because my insurance excludes anything bariatric related. So I am going the self pay route. I just wanted to tell you to not give up. You are obviously determined because you went through all the work to get as far as you have. Keep fighting the fight!
  20. Did you end up using this company? I'm also curious about financing options.
  21. I am going to Bariatric Pal for surgery. I've already been approved. I just have to save a bit more money.
  22. I am ready NOW! My bank account just is not quite there yet. I am doing everything I can to get to Mexico before the end of the year. I was just looking for some stories from others about what you had to do to save the Money for surgery.
  23. I also work 9-5 in an office setting. I was planning to take one week off work. I'm hoping that is enough time.
