Same here as far as the pain, but did start riding my bicycle. As for food still on puree, but see my nutritionist on the 18th which will be 30 days after surgery and was told I would more than likely be able to eat what I miss the most. Can't wait!

The first place that wrought loss was noticeable is my face and its working its way down oddly enough. When I first went back to work everyone noticed my cheek bones. So it went cheek and collar bones, my teen daughter asked why my hands look bony, I told her my skin is older than hers. My upper abdomen is flatter. I have only gone down one pant size from 22 to 20. 3 mos post op so this is somewhat upsetting. I notice bagginess in my thighs and butt of pants. I really want to lose this belly. I guess it'll take time. I'm grateful for what I've lost, it's just I had my appt with surgeon yesterday and the girl that was about my twin and had surgery the same day looked so much thinner to me with her little chicken legs (meant with love). I'm down 37# since surgery. I know I couldn't have do be that much on my own.

I'm two weeks out and I have zero regrets. I feel like I got a second chance at life. But I do understand how you feel about missing food. My doctor requested I do a few extra days of full liquid so I have to wait until Friday to move to stage 3. Have you tried looking up recipes for your next stage? Maybe that will motivate you to get through the regret so you'll really appreciate the next type of food you're able to eat. I've already got my whole menu planned for Friday!

Instead of taking B12 in pill or patch form try sublingual B12; better absorption post-WLS.

I had regrets too about a week after. I’m two weeks post-op now and it gets easier. You NEED to change your relationship with food if you want to be successful. It gets easier and it’s very rewarding!

I'm on all foods now but meatballs are still a favorite! So easy to make small portions and get in my Protein. I make a huge batch with homemade sauce and freeze them two portions at a time. I don't even miss the Pasta I used to eat with them

I was sleeved on the 17th too. I have one week of clear liquid diet then ten days of high Protein full liquid diet. At this point I am not going to give up because I don't want any complications. Yes, it's hard to drink broth when my family is eating pizza and whatnot, but I keep telling myself I've been given this opportunity and I'll only hurt myself if I cheat. If you're able to do blended Soups, Pacific Organic makes some that are delicious. I plan on adding Protein Powder for an extra oomph and keep dreaming of my first day of soft foods! You can totally do this!! Check out theworldaccordingtoegghead for recipe variations!! So much great info!!

I'm so glad this topic is on here!! The first 2 weeks after surgery I was in a HUGE funk. I likened what I was feeling to the hurt that I felt when my father passed away. I was angry at myself for "mutilating" (oh yeah- I said it) my body. food was my best friend for 35 years and we went through a nasty break-up. During the time I was only allowed liquids but still had to prepare meals for my family, which caused more tears to fall. Once the JP drain was removed and I moved along to more palpatable foods I started thinking that this may not be so bad after all. Once that first month was over and I found some sort of normalcy in the day-to-day I was back to my happy-go-lucky self!! Thankfully for me, I have no ovaries to blame for my depressed state, I was mourning the loss of my BFF- FOOD!!!
Now I'm 61/2 months out, almost 100# down, at my doctor's suggested goal weight, and wearing a size 8, and eating a healthy diet. I think that 1st month freak-out was a small price to pay for feeling & looking healthier!! Oh sure, the tears still roll from time to time. Now its always when I'm in a dressing room and the pants I took in are too big & I need to go down a size!!
Good luck to everyone who will be going, is going, or has gone through the 1st month meltdown!!! It really is the hardest part of the process!!

Sorry to hear that. Im 10 days post op. These are mentally tough times. Nothing to do but sit home and let your insides heal up. Can only eat liquids which is super hard for me. I don't have anybody cause im willingly single right now. Tell yur boyfriend u need his support if u do. If he doesn't I'd start thinking about making a new skinnier life without him.

I will tell you that refried Beans were a meal that I was COMPLETELY looking forward to, I put some cheese and a little bit of taco sauce on them and was one happy man! After being able to do nothing but drink those shakes for two weeks it almost brought tears to my eyes the first spoonful of "real" food that hit my tastebuds! Its allowed so enjoy it, no apology needed!

Samscoolmama reacted to maramirez3614 in 16 days out from vsg left shoulder pain
I experienced the pain on my chest and not my shoulder, they did tell me it’s Bc of the Gas that was used for the surgery but the Gas went away little by little after drinking Gas X. That helped me out a lot! It took me about a week in a half to have the pain away. I had hard time farting it out but I would burp it out. Try Gas X.
