    Hi,

Do you find your bathroom scale aligns with your Dr scale? I don't mind purchasing one for home, would just hate for it to say 200 and when I visit my Dr it says 220

I have had such a great experience with gastric bypass I needed to share it with people who are concerned or are having doubts. There are a lot of posts out there where people have had a hard time before during and after the surgery so I thought I should set the record straight.
My experience was great from the start. The liquid diet the week before surgery was a lot easier than I thought it would be and I lost 15lbs. The surgery was uneventful with no pain other than hurting when I coughed, laughed or rolled over in bed but that only lasted about a week. At first I found myself either eating too fast or too much but your body punishes you for that so you learn quickly when to stop. As far as eating too much a good rule of thumb is as soon as you start to feel full STOP. If you still have food in your mouth you need to spit it out, don't try to swallow it.
My primary reason for having the surgery was to cure my diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol and it has. I had my A1C checked this week and it was at 5.8 and I have been off all meds since I started the liquid diet the week before surgery.
For those of you reading this who are worried about the procedure and your life after the procedure just remember to follow your doctors instructions, eat what you should and stay away from things you shouldn't eat. Watch your portion sizes and slow down. Stay clear of all carbonated beverages and get plenty of exercise. I believe by following my doctors plan is why I had such an easy time.
Good Luck to all, I hope you are all successful in meeting your goals.
Here is my latest progress picture. The first picture was taken 8/20 but I was still at 265 lbs on the day I started my liquid diet (8/31/17) so I use that as the start date.

Early months/years post op I really didn't enjoy food as much as I used to. I made a conscious decision to not spend my time energy on food, making it taste better etc. to try to change that relationship with food. Others have had much success post WLS and developing their cooking skills!

How bad it will be depends on what your body used to look like at a normal weight. If you drop enough that you are close to that weight, your boobs will likely be around that same pre-fat size.......just deflated, or having less volume / fullness. If you had ass before, it will shrink relative to the rest of you, but your genetics will still shine through.
Either way, the best advice I can give you is to do weight training. No matter where you start or what your genetic makeup is, weights can create a new you. Do lots of squats and lunges with heavy weights, and you will marvel at the changes. Lean muscle will also help loose skin look better. I don't know about you, but I want to look fit and trim, not skinny. I like having curves.

I'm still experiencing soreness, I feel like if I move too much or sneeze too hard, my stomach is going to pop, lol. I have the option to work remote as well but I manage a team and feel more valuable in the office.

    Best of luck to you

Yes I will be out almost exactly a month. I can go from lifting >100lbs to pushing around 1500-2000lbs on a pallet jack so I wasn’t taking any chances on going back to work to early.

Had my sleeve one week ago today and feel great. Each day is getting better. I have no problems getting my fluids in, and mixing up my full fluids to keep it interesting with creamed Soups, yogurt, etc. Protein Shakes are getting easier to tolerate each day as well. On day of surgery, I was 283.1, and this morning I was 266.6! Looking forward to continuing the journey

I can't have this yet, but l look forward to trying it when able. I just inserted "Enchilada Sauce" instead of having to make it.

    Veggie Enchilada Casserole

    INGREDIENTS
    12 small corn tortillas
    Enchilada sauce
1.5 cups shredded "taco blend" cheese
    1 zucchini (about 3/4 lb.)
15 oz can black Beans, drained
    1 cup frozen corn kernels
4 oz can diced green chiles
1/2 bunch (3-4 each) green onions
    1/4 bunch cilantro (optional)
    1/4 tsp salt

Cut the zucchini into small cubes. Rinse and drain the black beans. Slice the green onions (both green and white portions). Pull the cilantro leaves from the stems and give them a rough chop. Combine the zucchini, black beans, frozen corn kernels, green onions, cilantro, and diced green chiles in a bowl. Add 1/4 tsp salt and stir until evenly combined.
Heat enchilada sauce until thick and bubbly (about 3-5 minutes).
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Prepare a 9x9 casserole dish by coating lightly with non-stick spray. Spread a 1/2 cup of the sauce in the bottom of the dish. Arrange 1/3 of the tortillas over the sauce, followed by 1/3 of the vegetable mixture. Drizzle 1/2 cup of the sauce over the vegetables, then top with 1/2 cup cheese. Repeat these layers two more times, or until the vegetable mix, sauce, and cheese are gone.

Bake the casserole for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the cheese just begins to brown on top. Slice into six portions and top with extra green onions and cilantro, if desired.

I hit a milestone today I am super excited about!
I have finally lost 300 pounds! I have been stalled the past few months and finally lost those last 6 pounds to hit this milestone! I am so thankful to be making this journey.
It still feels like a dream to me. It's crazy how I went from having to be on oxygen 24/7 and hardly being able to cross a room without getting out of breath to being able to walk for 6 miles and still be ready to go out and do other things!
I am loving life right now and wanted to share my excitement at hitting this milestone with you!
