2 weeks? You should be fine, but everyone is different. I am aware of alot people that have sedentary jobs that return that soon, but a physical job may or may not be different. Personally I'm not myself at the point but I am doing to do daily things that doesn't include too much bending over and stooping. Play it by ear.

You are not alone. I am 8 days post op and I Water makes me cramp so you know the Protein Drinks give me trouble. I'm making snail progress but still it's progress. I would try to lean towards more of the Clear Liquids for now until your tummy is ready. I'm no pro buts that's what I'm doing.

Could it be a stricture? According to the internet:
Strictures can occur once you are about 4 to 8 weeks out from surgery. A stricture is a narrowing of the new stomach outlet where it surgically attached to the small bowel. Symptoms include difficulty with eating solid foods, developing increased saliva or mucous, reflux symptoms, and in severe cases, difficulty with liquids. A stricture, with time, can resolve on its own, but often the waiting time to heal can make you feel miserable. Once you are out at least 4 weeks from surgery, balloon dilation with endoscopy can be performed to open up the narrowing. Several balloon dilations might be needed to fix the issue.

Thank you so much james for your reply. I went to my doctor and told him what you said and he did a endoscopic balloon dilation on me and I did have a stricture which he fixed. I feel so much better. Thanks!

How long did everyone use their little one ounce cups for, how did you do the transition to "big girl cups" and how did you handle going out like shopping where maybe its harder to get your Water. Right now I am supposed to be drinking 1 ounce every 10 minutes does that change when I go on to the mushy foods part of the diet??

I will be curious about this as well. The majority of my loose skin is in my gut. I was approved by my insurance today for a panniculectomy with Add-On abdominoplasty as well as the Gynecomastia to take care of the moobs.

    I am also day nine.
Your 20 pound gap is exciting. Well done.
Mine is more like 11 ... but that is comparing the prep room scales at the hospital to my (albeit very accurate) electronic bathroom scale. My follow up appointment is two days away ... on Mon 23rd at 9:30. (Here , right now, it's 10:50am daylight saving summer time on Saturday, Oct 21st)

Hi all! I got home early this afternoon. My surgery was yesterday. I woke up with the gas pains everyone mention. The most uncomfortable pains were in my left shoulder. I had a few sips of veggie broth, a third of a Popsicle and a small bite of Jello but I was still feeling nauseous and ended up throwing it back up. This morning however I felt like million bucks. I slept very well and I'm fairly certain that helped tremendously. I'm a bit sore but not like doing a gazillion crunches like some say. It's been a good day. Hope everyone else is feeling good, too.
