Dry Curly Hair
I use LifeOrganics products!... I love them.. all natural, reasonably priced and some of my own recipes too!! (This is my BFFs company), but i swear by the products.. I used the silky custard and mane moisturizer through my "falling out" phase and I promise, I didn't lose the amount of hair that some people did.... I believe it had to do with talking care it and probably a little "blessing"... Anyway, keep your hair and body moisturized inside and out... Check out the website... www.lifeorganicsonline.com

Hey Fam!!! I know it's been a while since my last update, but things are a little crazy.. However, I just wanted to share a few things... So... I flew to DC over the weekend and I think my anxiety about flying is almost over.. So, I get on the plane... I didn't get any "no, I hope the fat lady doesn't sit here looks" and neither did I have to say excuse one time as I walked down the aisle w/ my very cute Anne Klein carry on (LOL, hey.. it was my gift to myself!!)... So, I sit in the seat and get ready to ask for an extender and then I remember, I can buckle this thing now!!! So, it was a little snug over my sweater, but hey.. I could breath!!! I dropped something on the floor and bent to pick it up w/o thinking about it.. (That's huge for me, using I mull it over for a few minutes!) At the hotel, I could actually soak in the tub w/o touching the side!!! Also, there was no fear about fitting into the chairs in the conference room or walking a few blocks from the hotel to meet w/ colleagues!!.. i may not have lost a million pounds, but I've gained so much more in terms of who I am and what I am capable of doing physically, emotionally and in every other kind of way!! I can now go into a department store (my favorite this week is Carson Pirie Scott) and grab things off of the rack.. in a few sizes smaller than the largest size they offer.. This is HUGE for me!! Before being sleeved, I couldn't wear the largest women's plus size in ANYTHING!!! Now, I have fixation w/ the Kleins (Anne and Calvin)... LOL.. I have to get a new winter coat or 3.. and boots.. So, I am 2 pounds away from kissing the 300s goodbye FOREVER!!!...Here are a few stats.. Starting wt. 382 Current 301 (and falling) Starting size 28/30 (3x/4x)/48DD Current size 20 (1X/ some XL)/42D Starting Waist 56 Current 43.5 Tina-isms: The sleeve can give you a great start to changing your life overall, but you still have to do the work!! Yes, I have bad days and eat BAD stuff... my body let's me know that it doesn't want it.. I can keep eating or I can allow my sleeve to do what it was meant to do. Don't beat yourself up, just tell yourself the TRUTH!!! I know when I'm not doing enough of the right things and I can't be mad at my surgeon, the scale or DOVE chocolate for making those delicious dark chocolate/raspberry bits of goodness!!! But, I don't have to beat myself up.. I just make a better decision at my next meal! Life, even the sleeved life is meant to be lived to the fullest and enjoyed to the fullest!!!

Help! I Can't Stop Grazing :(
For me it was water!! When I get at least 64-80 oz a day, I don't crave and cave to junky Snacks..... If i don't, I'm almost a mini-human garbage disposal!!! I also pack healthy snacks in little baggies.. and when my baggies are gone, I'm done snacking for the day... Doing this has stopped me from raiding my co-workers snack bin.. Also, how are you on your vits?? When i miss my B-12 and B-complex I STAY hungry.. well, what I think it hungry!! LOL

December sleevers!
Hey Guys!!! I've lost about 60-ish since surgery about 81 over all. I think...... went from a 28/30 to a size 20 so far... I'm not that thrilled about the number of pounds, BUT, I'm estatic about the inches I've lost so far... Hopefully by Dec. I will have dropped another 25-30 pounds... Keep up the good work!!!

Gerd Or Reflux Before Vsg?
My reflux is definitely worse.. it's not so bad that I regret being sleeved though... I just watch the time that I take my last bite and drink before bed, pop my ppi 2X a day.. and enjoy life!!..

Gerd Or Reflux Before Vsg?
I had reflux before surgery... Not as bad as it has been afterwards though... I think they look at how much (if any) erosion has taken place due to the acid... Ask lots of questions and think positive.. everything will be fine!!!!

Running

53; Fat And Ready For Help!
Congrats for making this decision to have a greater quality of life.. CONGRATULATIONS for being a survivor and beating cancer... I love Muscle milk and Premier Protein, both in chocolate.. I can't tolerate any other drinks.. they're too ugh!!... I would suggest buying two of each from the grocery store, chill one and leave one at room temp.. See if it changes the taste/texture for you... Good luck!!!

Surgery Is Tomorrow.. Nervous And Excited!
Blessings to you!!! Getting sleeved was one of the best decisions I ever made!!! No more health issues, seatbelt extenders, or sweating like a pig with the slightest movement!!!! I love my Sleevina!!!

Are There Any Picky Eaters That Have Had This Surgery?
Picky eater here!!!!! So, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE sweets... since being sleeved, I cannot tolerate buttery, really sweet things... My taste buds and my tummy don't like it!! I can have chocolate every once and a while (usually during my TOM)... I tried a big spoonful of creme brulee and let's just say... NEVER IN this LIFE or the next!!! My tastes totally changed.. I'm still very picky and try hard to incorporate veggies with each meal.. I don't eat fruit at all.... So, I bought a juicer and try to juice 3/4 times a week... You really won't know until after your sleeve heals and you've tried different foods.. Getting sleeved was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life!!!

Getting Too Much Protein?
90-120g (this includes 40g of supplemental proteins from protein drinks)...
-
Getting Too Much Protein?
So, I basicly eat Protein for 80% of my meals and the rest is veggies, very few carbs at all. .(an occasional popcorn or cookie treat)... Lately I've been have some strange pressure in my kidney area (seeing my doctor next week)... When I eat more carbs (like this week), it disappears... My urine is kind of foamy, like when I was doing only Protein shakes pre-op... Has anyone else ever experienced this??
