  1. My father is making me my favorite steak next Saturday because I know it will most likely be the last one I ever eat (that size anyway) lol. And I'm totally excited about it.
  2. If I were you I would call your insurance company to verify they have everything they need. I have Aetna and it took about three weeks for them to approve me and I was impatient so I called them to ensure they were not waiting for any paperwork from the doctors office or me.
  3. That's great Sosewsue61. My preop appt is next Wednesday, the 18th. Not sure what that will consist of but regardless I'm excited to begin.
  4. Awesome!!! So exciting!! Keep me posted as to how you're doing!!!
  5. Thank you so much!! Great ideas!!!!
  6. Thank you Rita85, something I didn't think about.
  7. Thank you!! You will get there too!!!
  8. I'm scheduled for Oct 24th. I feel like these next two weeks are going to drag because of my anticipation for this surgery. I started this entire process in January of this year and after 10 months I am beyond ready to get this journey started. I love this site, it has so much information and amazing people!!!
  9. Is there a list of items that I should have at home after surgery? I know protein powder but other than that I'm really kind of clueless. My surgery is scheduled for Oct 24th. Thanks!!!!
  10. Hello, I have Aetna and it took them three weeks to approve me. I kept calling with same answers "pending", "pending", then Monday and called and the representative said "Congratulations, you have been approved" and I received the letter the next day in the mail.
  11. lovepink21, I completely understand what you are going through. I have gained almost 70lbs in the past 4 years and I have a walk in closet where only 4 items actually fit me (because I had to buy new, bigger sizes). I swore I wouldn't be this size forever so I kept all my "thinner" clothes although when I say "thinner" I mean size 16, not size 22 which is what I am now. My surgery is the 24th of this month and I honestly cannot wait until my size 16 clothes are too big. I am SO TIRED of being this big and miserable. I hate going anywhere for fear someone will see me out. I have to believe though that in time this weight will be behind us for good. Best of luck to you in your journey and remember, you are beautiful NO MATTER what size you are!!!!
  12. Hello, I was approved for surgery by my insurance on Monday and yesterday my surgery date was scheduled. October 24th!! Beyond excited. I have an appt with my dr. on Oct 18th, can anyone tell me why I have to meet with him before the surgery and what I should expect?
  13. I gained weight on my 6 month diet. 10lbs to be exact. I quit smoking and between that and trying to diet it just didn't work for me however I have Aetna and they still approved me thank god.
