I promised myself that once I started losing weight, I wouldn't date anyone that I knew from my 'heavy' days, if they weren't already interested in me back then. I'm 30 and I've already been divorced once, so I'm not going to get married again unless its with the right man, and I don't believe that the right man is someone that would be that shallow... Just my opinion

I like mine! I bought it for $12 or $13 on Amazon. It works really well with softer veggies like squash/zucchini. It didn't work the best on a carrot.
My husband, on the other hand, still won't eat his vegetables, even when they look like noodles.

I adore mine. I make zucchini Pasta all of the time. I've even used carrots, yellow squash, and parsnips.
    Hard cukes work well too.

@@jazma As a guy, I am into gadgets. If it gets me to eat my veggies it will be worth the investment to try this. There is even a cook book called Inspiralized. They'll make a cook book about anything. Thank you for this topic.

sorry about your old habits sneaking back!!!
don't know how much weight you successfully lost
you were loosing ok? but then stalled for quite a wihile??
gave in to old eating habits because you got frustrated??
doesn't really matter the why i guess
glad you know you want and need to get back on track
people that are in your similar boat (don't worry you won't sink)
frequently will do 3 Protein shakes a day (like the good ol' days )
this will give you a good jump start, make you feel better to get on program
its been awhile, do you remember all the basic rules??
    Kathys' Refresher Course 101!!!!
sttop drinking 15-30 minutes before you eat
never drink with your meals (people have been shot for less )
must drink at least 64 oz of Water
after you eat wait 45-60 minutes before you drink
    always take smallll bites
    moderation
eat with small utensils, take a bite of food put fork down
    eat slllllowly
chew food well before you take another bite
always eat Protein first (ie dense protein like chicken is great cuz it makes you fuller faster)
watch your carbs - SUPPOSED to be only around 40 (that can be a challange)
60 gr of protein is important
try and exercise - even walking is better that sitting on your tush
i can't relate to raising a youngun while you are trying to eat properly
    it must be very hard
that being said - whatever good food you are required/need to eat - that would be great for him to eat too
he is still very young - so stand firm , even if he's screaming - try not to give him or you junk
we all know the rate of obesity for kids going up and up - making fat adults
    not pretty
working 12 hr shiftsgood must be stressful and hard!!!
luv my yogurt, mix in some fresh blueberries with granaola spinkled on top
I JUST told my neighbor yesterday the yogurt tastes so good -
almost like having an orgasm TMI?
    eating junk food???
    KNOCK IT OFF
we both know you can get back on program and continue to be the success i know you are
    I believe in you
you should too!!! (believe in yourself)
now you go girl - show us what you are made of!!!
    good luck

jazma reacted to NMJG in What is your typical day?
Good thread. I am 8 months out and I too lose half as fast as I used to. Now I lose maybe a pound a week, used to lose 2 lbs a week. But, I am very close to goal and the BMI is low, so I think that has a lot to do with it. I also eat around 900-1000 calories a day now, not 700-800. I do a modified fast day once or twice a week.
    Breakfast
Protein shake (low carb) or eggs or Protein powder & egg baked concoction or ricotta or cottage cheese or yogurt
    lunch
some sort of meat and/or cheese (3 oz), some sort of veg, sometimes a small salad, occasionally include corn tortilla or a slice of bread or cracker (couple of times a week)
    dinner
some sort of meat and/or cheese (3 oz), some sort of veg, occasionally include corn tortilla or a slice of bread or crackers (couple of times a week)
    Snacks
low carb or sf sweets, fruit, apple & pnut butter, nuts, Jerky, pumpkin seeds, soy nuts, yogurt, sf pudding or ice pops. Very rarely I have a lower carb Protein Bar (emergencies only, couple times a month maybe)
    Other
Occasional glass of wine or liquor, maybe a couple of times a week. I always get my daily minimum 64 oz of water/liquids.
Typical Entrees (almost always 3 oz portions, I can't get down more than that)
Carne Adovada (New Mexican pork stewed long and slow in red chile) PM if you want the recipe - yum!
    Roast chicken
    Green chile chicken stew
    Hamburger patty
    Corned beef
    Turkey meat
    Precooked Meatballs
    Tofu
    Steak
Beans and shredded cheese (refried or charro beans)
Cassoulet (white Beans with variety of meat and sausage chunks)
Italian deli meats (salame, prosciutto, cotto) and cheese and olives

Hey all! My sleeve was Monday June 16th...
    Highest weight 290
    Surgery day weight 263
    Current weight 251
So far no complaints! On full liquids and jazzed on how fast it's coming off, trying to mentally prepare for a plateau... When did some of you hit that first plateau?
Also how much did you all lose the first month?
I just want to see if I'll be a "slow" loser or "fast" loser....

I had surgery last Tuesday and was told the same as most everyone else..I was told not to even step on the scale until my first post-op appointment. My doc said with a combo of the iv fluids and our bodies going into a "mini" starvation mode due to not eating much or anything at all after surgery will cause our bodies to cling to everything.

jazma reacted to Steph W-O in THIS is how the first 4 weeks go...
I hope this doesn't discourage people. I had no pain at the incision sites after 1 week, I was walking daily after 1 day post op. I was back to work 5 days post op-while my energy wasn't at the level it was before surgery, I was ok working full-time. My surgeon told me to expect a 10 day recovery period and he was just about exactly right. 10 days after, I felt just fine and began exercising on a stationary bike, took extra stairs, and continued walking.
I know people recover differently and I know people like to read and share experiences, so I understand your post. I just hope people considering surgery don't think that they are necessarily going to be down for a month!
    . Just my two cents....
