Donated my old clothes to the church. This way I know people who can use them get them.(for free) Some places take the clothes and sell them for a profit and the intended people don't get anything.

The devil has left the building! It was touch and go there for a while. My goodness I’ve never in my life had so much gas... it was like one after another after another...

The good news is that the paint didn’t melt off the walls like I thought it would and the windows are still intact.

    Hahahaha

OH mannnnnn! I was so looking longingly at it a couple of days ago. And I said softly to it, "Soon my precious. Soon we will be together..." LOL.
    Umm, maybe not.
Thanks for the warning hon!!! (and the laugh--mostly the laugh...)

All I can do is lift with my hand and tuck the girls in a bra cup. It's not the brand name for me it's all about the fit and support. No need for the girls to hang to my belly button.

I think Dr. G uses a Size 32 bougie -- its in the online FAQs. I have an appt next week and I'll double check this. Are you hitting the Water goals? Are you not drinking 30/30? Are you eating fruits & veges? I've heard reflux can mimic hunger, so is that a possibility? Just spit balling. I am sorry you are frequently hungry, that stinks.

Check with your doc or nutritionist, but I know it took me about 7-8 months to get to where I was eating more than 800 calories. It was fine as long as I was getting my Protein and hydration. I was eating very low carb, a few months ago the nutritionist said I could increase my carb intake, and now I don't have any issues getting in 1000 calories, sometimes I have to watch that I don't go way over. Carbs are less filling and I find I can eat more of them, but eating them also makes me crave more so it's a double edged sword. It may just take some time time to able to eat more, and the whole point of the surgery is calorie restriction. Take advantage of it while it lasts, don't try to force more, the restriction eases when you get closer to a year.

02/16/2018 two month out from surgery. Sounds about where I was in calories. Are you hitting your Protein goal? Are you able to eat every two to three hours? Concentrate on your protein goal. Calories will increase as you get further out from surgery.

The guy I was dating had the same opinion. He told me multiple times that he was against the surgery because everyone who had it "got skinny, cheated on their spouse, and then left". My response was to ask how many people he knew that had gone through the surgery and had "got skinny, cheated, and left" and he told me 2. I responded with I knew of at least a dozen people personally who had either the sleeve or bypass and hadn't cheated and left. That the surgery was to be a more healthy person and this was all about me nothing to do with him. I also reminded him that if people cheat and leave that has to do with their happiness in the relationship which both parties are responsible for not just whoever is having surgery. I told him maybe he had better look in a mirror and figure out why he was so unhappy with himself and why he would be so certain that if I got healthier Id leave. I was told that I was crazy so I saved him the trouble of watching me get skinny before I left, and I left him. Haven't heard a word since. This is nothing to do with our spouses or partners this a huge step to get healthier and live a happier life. If those around us cant be our cheerleaders and support the good choices that we are making then its really time to figure out what their misconception is and can we help them see what is actually going on. If so yay and if not cut bait and run towards that better life for yourself. Its going to hurt at first but you will be so much happier and healthier in the end.

Roux en Y, it's also called.a gastric bypass. The Y part when they reattached the small intestine to your pouch resembles the letter y. The sleevers lose 75% of their stomach and end up with a long banana shaped tube of stomach. Bypass, we keep our stomach,in our body, it continues to produce its juices and enzymes but our food goes into a small pouch about the size of an egg, usually a chicken to Turkey size, most surgeon's do chicken but I'm sure each surgeon tailors it to the case . The food goes into The small intestine thru an opening between the pouch and intestinal limb the surgeon made, this is called an anastomosis, you might see that term floating around here. It can tighten up, that's called a stricture, it usually can be widened back up, also some people can develop an ulcer here but it's a minority that do. Both proceduree have their pluses and minuses. Does this explaination help or only confuse you? If I come across like I'm lecturing, I'm sorry for that. The food meets up with the digestive juices downstream so your food does get digested. You will lose weight with both types of surgery.

real sight reacted to Meryline in Just Curious .. can you handle bread, rice, pasta?
My program has no restrictions on bread, rice or Pasta. Bread does not go down well for me, so I avoid it, rice I have only had once, but I have a little bit (10-20g) of pasta now and then. I do however eat oatmeal every day.

I can tolerate a very small amount of all three. Rice & bread have a tendency to swell in your stomach, though, so eating a lot of them can make me sick; if I eat more than a tablespoon or two of rice I can feel it starting to rise up, and it's really unpleasant. A great way to control cravings.

I definitely eat all three now and then, but only as a "treat" and a special occasion thing. None really have Protein, so they don't have a lot of what I need to keep myself going. Focus on that protein first!

I'm 2.5 years out and can tolerate bread, rice and Pasta wonderfully.
In fact, I can tolerate the aforementioned foods too wonderfully...in the context of being able to eat nearly unlimited quantities of bread, rice and pasta without ever feeling full.
Starches spell WEIGHT REGAIN for the majority of sleeve and bypass patients, so just because we can eat them doesn't necessarily mean we should.
    Good luck to you.

Ok, so not trying to be a b***h but really?! I thought this was a place to get help and see if anyone else is going through what we are. Everyone's journey is completely different. I am eating exactly as instructed by my surgeon. I log my food as if I would die without doing it. My doctor is just as baffled as I am. I eat as much as they instruct but my concern WAS why am I always hungry etc. I will explain more in my update on this thread.
Good luck in your continued journey but also remember to be kind

Call his bluff. Make him seriously think about what it would mean if he divorced you for medical reasons. I am pretty sure you would take him to the cleaners financially. Don't appeal to his emotions, show him how it will cost half of his possessions, retirement, and a good chunk of his income.
Texas is a "Fair & Just" divorce state. That doesn't necessarily mean a 50/50 split. He may want to think before he opens his mouth again.

My late husband the Somewhat Lamented was cut from much the same cloth. I sublimated my will, played roulette, with my health and 5 1/2 years after his death I've finally, booked for surgery. I am 72, had 2 knee replacements after having arthritis since 25. Was even told I did that for attention, wouldn't let me walk with the cane which would have helped my mobility. Please go forward with your plans, like others have said it is your body and,you shouldn't have. to face your mortality any sooner than necessary. If you want to talk more I'm always here and more than many others I do understand. I'm 72 and facing RnY surgery, I'm more afraid of not having this surgery, getting slower, more broken down and finally expiring. I will use this tool and use it for my health. Hope you'll still join me on this journey.

What a JERK. Not standing by his wife. He's just jealous that you might end of looking better than he does. You do what makes YOU happy!!! Do what makes YOU healthy!!! And if he doesn't like it...That's his problem. And about him calling you Fat Ass, that's horrible, what a CHILD. You should tell him that you are going to live a HAPPY and HEALTHY LIFE, with or without him....and ask him how he loves that!!!

I'd have the surgery and tell him that he needs to do whatever he needs to do. He doesn't sound like a great person, and once you get yourself where you want to be, you can likely do better.
Don't let him bully you. Do what is best for your health, your goals, and your happiness.
