My wife has dropped from Size 26 (Aug 2016) to Size 18 (Sept 2017) with the help of a gastric balloon and a style of 5:2 eating.
She's sure a Size 16 is in sight before November!

To the person who said they do NOT recommend Mexico Bariatric Center, please provide a legitimate reason to help people make the best decision for themselves. Did you have your procedure done with them and if so, who was your Dr. and what was your bad experience?

I am pleased to say that I have reached my goal, yaaayyy. My goal weight was 150 lbs but I weighed myself this morning and I am 149.8 lbs. This has been a hard journey mentally but for me( many of you know I have gone thru a divorce as well ). My starting weight was 242lbs, day of surgery 12/5/16 I was 219 lbs, and 8 months later I am 149.8 lbs. 7 lbs away from almost losing 100 lbs. I feel so good right now about myself. Not just because of how I look but how I feel inside. I'm starting to love me flaws and all. I am working on the mental side of things with prayer and supplication. God is a healer and I'm trusting him to keep me. I thank all of you on this site for your support , it has been epic on this journey. I so truly appreciate you. The encouragement I received from total strangers has far outweighed what I received from family and friends. Thank you again. Hope u like the pics.

its now been 4.5 years since I was sleeved. my high weight was 323 lbs. my goal weight was low 180's. I did reach goal weight but over the years I realized that my desired goal weight was too low for me. now for the last 2 years ive steadily maintained a weight in the mid 190's and that appears to be where im supposed to be and im happy with that weight. today 10/1/17 I weight 195 lbs. I exercise 3-4 times a week and my choice of exercise is running. I will also be running the 2018 boston marathon and im so excited about being able to run this historic race! im running it for the jimmy v foundation for cancer research and ive committed to raising $6000 which is no easy task. if any of you have ever been affected by this terrible illness feel free to click the link after this post and make a 100% tax deductible donation to the jimmy v foundation for cancer research. every dollar donated goes to research. you will be supporting my run and a cause that affects everyone as everyone knows someone that has been affected by cancer. as far as my eating, I still have to be very mindful of what I put in my mouth. I think you look amazing!!!! Omg! You must feel so good too!! When my aunt lost 60lbs on Jenny Craig, she looked sickly to me but more in a Vitamin deficient/full of artificial stuff and chemicals kind of way. She lacked color in her skin. You look vibrate and have color in your cheeks. And try not to shame yourself about the cupcake. Instead focus on how good it tasted and how awesome it is you only had one!! You look amazing! You do not look sickly. I had the same comments from some people back in 2001 when I lost a ton of weight on Atkins. He's used to seeing your face a certain way. Sickly is being 100lbs overweight! Good job!

We never win with people's opinions. When we are overweight we are called names, when we lose weight we are called names. You look beautiful and keep losing if that is your goal. As long as your doctor says you are within healthy limits, keep losing. I can only see a gorgeous human in this picture.

I don't think you look sickly at all. You have not reached a normal BMI yet for your height so I would keep on losing if that's what you want to do.
Dont let others opinions dictate what you do. People get used to seeing us overweight and they don't know what a healthy weight looks like.

Hang in there and gradually change your bad habits. Example: I no longer eat while watching tv anymore. I notice that I over eat when I do that. Also, I've been working on chewing my food thoroughly before swallowing it. I hope that helps.

Congrats! It will be fine, it's surreal when your there and getting all ready for surgery for sure. Then you wake up and it's all done, then you journey begins! Mine was on 9/21 and recovering well have already lost 7 lbs. amazing.....

Good luck to you today! You'll do great! Just remember if you have gas pain, get up and walk, walk, walk. I had my RNY 6/21/17 and walking was better than the pain meds. Welcome to the losers bench!

I have been over weight my whole life and it took me to turn 40 yrs old to realize I wanna LIVE! and I mean REALLY live..not closed up behind doors hiding from the world.. I've started my NEW Journey of healthy living and I can't wait to continue..

Mine is September 25th. I can't believe it is almost here!

Sleeved on 12th and feeling very back to normal now but somehow better I'm so proud that I've done this for myself and now can drive again and walk the dogs again and have such clarity about how my life should be instead of constantly being solid citizen, want more trips away, more nights out, and making life work for me not just my teen and ex-husband.
