I wish I could answer, but I have never really tracked. I was 244 day of surgery, 168lbs now , I am 7 months out and to be honest I dont think I would have any problems maintaining as I maintained at Christmas by grazing lol. Sorry that doesn't help haha.

Um yes. I've been naughty too. I had sweet potato soufflé three weeks out, the very day I started my puree diet. It was pretty much sugar, with some sweet potato. My sister brought it to the Christmas dinner I hosted last week, and I realized it was technically a puree, though definitely not on my diet. It was delicious and filling, but I felt guilty afterwards. I then got back on track. That's the important part, not turning one instance of weakness into a bad day, week or longer.

Good news! I researched a little and earplugs (even with residual ear wax) have zero calories!
I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!

wbtx reacted to bellabloom in It’s really possible to change your life.
Posting these is hard for me- But if they help someone- I’m all about being real. This is where I came from. Before wls I was at rock bottom in my life. I was overweight, in so much pain, addicted to opiates, in a miserable abusive marriage, terribly unhappy, i could barely work, so hard to walk, so hard to just live. I’d been on or off of a diet since I was eleven. I was constantly binging or starving myself. I’d tried every weight loss plan under the sun and I was totally burnt out. I’d tried therapy, you make it. Perhaps if I’d stuck to therapy that would have worked, but at the point I had surgery I was so exhausted I just needed something sure.
I was totally committed to the surgery although i didn’t follow the rules very well, I’ve never been good at self care. I couldn’t take care of myself well before surgery and i struggled to do that afterwards. It has taken a lot of work to get better at that.
I went in knowing what could happen and that i wouldn’t be able to eat normally again. It was worth it to me at the time.
My surgery had complications but the weight loss was easy due to a severe stricture that I had, plus i was just determined to lose the weight- nothing was gonna stop me. I did really well eating very little for a long time, I was so burnt out on food i was able to break my codependent behavior towards it. Maintenance was really really hard for me, I had issues with wanting to keep losing weight and not being able to stop. I rejected food so hard it was a real struggle to begin eating again and I had to seek therapy for that.
I’m doing well now and so much has changed. I have a very different outlook with food. I’ve also gone through plastic surgery 2x and I’m finished with that. I’m at my 3 year surgery anniversary on dec 4. My start weight was 240 and my current weight is between 130-135. I’m 5’6.
I went from 240 to 120 in about 10 months. My lowest weight was 115- scary. I’ve since gained to a healthy 130 ish. I try not to slide back into the 120s because I look sick at that weight. I don’t try and maintain my weight through dieting anymore, I practice “Intuitive Eating”. While being thin is nice and my weight is something I care about, these days I try not to weigh myself and I focus on overall health and well being. My next goal is to get more active with weight training and exercise.
Surgery is no walk in the park. I had a rough time and I still struggle. But it was worth it for me, as you can see. My weightloss did stall a week or two here and there. I never let that get to me, I just kept my calories low knowing eventually it would start again. During the weightloss phase I tried to focus on my life and stay busy rather than focus on every pound. I definitely ate very very little. I suffered from malnutrition and health problems because of this so I would not recommend it- take your Vitamins and get in your Protein.
Don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad for choosing surgery. And don’t feel bad if weight loss takes you longer than others. My biggest regret is that I didn’t give myself more love before my surgery. But at least I gave myself enough to try and change my life for the better.

Being impacted is NOT fun!! I think it's very brave that you came on here and talked about it. People do end up in hospitals for impactions. It's serious stuff!!
Keep that liquid moving. I'm sure you'll be sore tomorrow. Maybe a nice bath w epson salts will help if you feel discomfort.

Thank you, I feel soooooo much better. But that was so horrifying. I had to leave work and still have anxiety at how awful that experience was. I was afraid to go to the ER figuring it was not an emergency and I would wait forever. I probably needed an enema. I bought a dual PAC, but have never ever used one. I'll try supositories as well.

I did not have any alcohol until 6 months post op per my surgeons suggestions. I am not a big drinker at all but I've had a few cocktails or wine here an there over the past 5 months (I would say maybe 5 times) and it hasn't bothered me but I would follow your doctors recommendation!

I have hemorrhoids from when I was pregnant that never fully went away. I have been having issues with them since surgery based on my irregular pooping schedule.

I drink my 64 oz of Water with no issues along with 120grams of Protein Shakes. I just finished a bowl of pureed asparagus Soup with no issues either. What am I doing wrong? I listen to people talk about how hard it is to drink water and I am able to do the program with no issues. Can I be stretching out my stomach already? Either I am the luckiest guy in the world or I am really screwing myself up. I feel a little knot in my upper chest around the breastplate, I guess that's my new full feeling.

This sounds so strange to me. I was told by my surgeon and nutritionist that the sleeve stretching out is a myth. Also have read that it will not stretch out.
I am almost a year out and can't eat more than 3 oz Protein and a couple bites of veggies in one sitting. Probably about 1/2 cup of food, like you. I agree with the points that RickM made.

Good luck, I am 1 week post op and feeling pretty good. The worst pain was right after I went to the room.. it wasn't the incision pain, but from the gas. I got up and walked 20 mins after I went to the room and that really helped. I was doing great soon afterward. This has not been that bad.. I had 3 c sections and a Tummy Tuck and this has been the easiest surgery I have ever had. Prayers for you and a quick recovery.

My surgery went great. No pain on the incision sites. Gas pain was bad when I first got to room. But I walked after being in room 20 min. Feeling pretty good. This has been way easier than I thought. I had 3 previous csections and a Tummy Tuck. This has been a walk in the park so far. Hope it just gets better and better.
